clawing, scratching, reaching

with clawed fingers and heavy breaths

and i'm at the top,

and now i'm the best... of... the... best...

but now i've finally realized

now i finally know that it's cold

the top of the world is cold and lonely

then i'm shivering

alone at the top of the mountain

and now i reminisce over those days

when things were simpler,

and i regret ever thinking, that...

this was written to be a song, which is why it has a much more "pop song"- ish format. i haven't yet started on a melody, but i decided i really wanted to share this as a poem. so this is to all the people out there like me, the perfectionists, the people with all the insecurities, feeling like they aren't good enough, who need to be the best and then better...

you are valued and loved, and you are more than enough. never let anyone tell you you are anything less than amazing <3
