chapter six, ratio silence and then him

the weeks had gone by quick.

homecoming was in two days now. and stella had officially promised chloe she would go to the dance. even if she was date less.

she had her dress picked out already. it was hung up in her closet as it stood in the darkness. it was a pretty dress. yellow. she was always told she looked good in yellow.

the blonde girl wandered the hall as she held the hallway pass in her hands in order to go to the office to pick up some papers she needed to grab.

the halls were empty. bare.

nothing scratched the surface as the floors don't have any signs of scuff marks as they had this morning. the janitors must have cleaned in between passing periods, only for the halls to be dirty once again.

it was a shame if anything.

she turned down another hall as she spotted liz walking towards her. interrupting the silence the halls had learned to give to the blonde.

a smile was present on the girls face before she spotted stella. her smile only growing more and more as she walked up to her. the two stopping in the hall full of lockers and doors that were closed as a teacher lectured about what teenagers were " supposed " to know.

" i just got asked to homecoming!" liz exclaimed excitedly. stella let out a small smile towards her. she was unfamiliar with this feeling.

usually she wasn't one to be apart of someone's self celebration. well until now.

" who asked you" stella asked finally realizing liz never told her who the special someone was.

" peter" liz smiled at her happily.

on the outside, stella gave liz a smile and showed happiness towards the tan girl. but, on the inside a part of stella broke. she knew why. deep down she always did.

she had a crush on the boy. the boy who never noticed her, and never would now.

liz allen was the solar system in peter parker's eyes and stella evans was pluto. a planet that no longer existed. no longer fit the criteria to be a planet.

pluto was nothing but a distant object.

" i'm happy for you" stella let out. she wanted to change the conversation and if anything she wanted to walk away from liz and pretend like she didn't hear a single thing about what liz just told her.

" thank you stella, i'll see you later ? yeah !" liz exclaimed before walking past her and towards her class.

stella nodded, even though the tan girl could no longer see her.

the blonde kept walking down the hall as she tried to leave her thoughts in the spot she had just recently stood.

her main focus now was the papers she had to get. nothing else.

not peter parker. not liz. not anything.

because stella was pluto, she didn't really exist anyways.
