For the past two decades, Arvonia and Sapient have been at war. In an attempt to unite the country and calm down the growing rebellion, former King Aster of Arvonia selected 20 rebels or rebel- sympathizers to compete for the hands of his children. While neither the rebels nor the royals are happy with this choice, the rebellion thinks that their cause could benefit from the Selection and help get their name out there.

One year after the Arvonian royals' selection, King Morgan of Bellhaven decided to hold a Selection of his own. His Kingdom has managed to stay neutral in most of the past conflicts, but their neutrality is threatened due to their alliance with Arvonia and shared border with Sapient. The war between Arvonia and Sapient has deescalated slightly, but relations are still tense. Rebel leaders in Arvonia now make up half of King Adrian's court.

Bellhaven helps fund Arvonian war effort, which makes them a huge target for Sapient. While the war has calmed down slightly, a ceasefire has not yet been ordered. 

This world has modern- day technology such as cell phones, tvs, cameras, ect.
