Case: #0
A/N important information about the fanfic at the end.
"Bokuto.. why are you so nervous?" Akaashi whispered as he nudged him softly.
"Oh, I don't know, maybe because I'm being accused of being a fucking murderer" Bokuto said quietly, his tone clearly sarcastic, but full of fear.
"We have plenty of evidence to prove your innocence. I believe you, just don't fuck up when I and the other guy ask you questions. He'll try to make you say you're a murderer, or seem like one, then the jury will decide that you're guilty. " Akaashi explained as he glanced at the victim's lawyer. What an idiot, clearly doesn't know how to do his job.
Bokuto moved his head around to get the better view of the courtroom. It didn't seem that scary, but boy oh boy was he scared. The creaky wooden floor made him shiver every time it made a noise, the stands seemed awfully far and the judge was terrifying. This big old man with fierceful eyes, looking around everywhere. He sighed, he didn't know what to think or do. Bokuto just wanted to sleep and forget all his troubles.
Meanwhile Akaashi couldn't get his eyes off the plaintiff and her lawyer, mister goody-shoes Oikawa Tooru. What a pathetic man, acting as if he's the center of the universe. His hand was placed strangely on the plaintiff's thigh, he had a smirk on his face while talking to her sweetly, as if he wasn't married already. He probably slept with every single of one his clients behind his wife's back. Pathetic.
A loud noise echoed through the room, it caused Akaashi to finally get his attention away from his "fellow colleague". Everybody stood up as the judge said the boring talk Akaashi was tired of hearing. Bokuto, on the other hand, listened attentively, he didn't want to miss anything.
Soon the plaintiff's attorney stood up and started speaking as well, however all that Bokuto heard was "the killer, the killer..", a shiver went down his spine... he felt like he was going to faint.
"I call Yachi Hitoka to the stand" Oikawa said. Bokuto watched as a girl stood up and walked slowly to one of the stands, she seemed frightened.
"Yachi, you were there the night the assault happened, right?" Oikawa asked, his voice as smooth as silk. From the corner of his eye Bokuto saw how Akaashi's face expression changed from unamused to disgusted.
"Y-yes.." the girl said quietly, it made the jury move forward a bit and extend their necks to hear what she had to say.
"So you were there. You have mentioned that you saw a man, around 6' tall, is that right?" Oikawa asked again, his tone getting increasingly annoying.
"Yes, I saw a man. A tall man. Well built as well" Yachi spoke with a bit more confidence.
"I must mention" Oikawa turned to the jury. "That Bokuto Koutarou is 6'1, a well built man. Doesn't he sound like the man Yachi Hitoka described the killer to be?"
"Objection, you honor!" Akaashi suddenly stood up. "Not guilty, until proven so"
"Sustained!" The judge exclaimed. Oikawa, now clearly annoyed, turned to the judge and bowed slightly before returning to his seat.
To Bokuto's surprise, since he had no ideas how all this process goes, Akaashi stood up and went up to the stand, he smiled at Yachi before speaking.
"Yachi Hitoka, I have only a couple questions as well. Is it true that the night the assault happened you were....drunk?" Akaashi smiled again, ah... that smile. Bokuto heard the jury gasp, clearly an unexpected question.
Yachi gulped, her fingers started trembling. "Y-Yes. I had drunk a bottle of wine since I had just been accepted to a new job" Yachi agreed.
"Alright, one last question. Yachi Hitoka, is it possible your description of the killer was..wrong? Could you have described them wrongly due to the fact that you were drunk?" Akaashi stared at her. His eyes always terrified Bokuto for some reason, he didn't know why. They were so dark, almost to the point where they seemed black...
Bokuto quickly turned to the other attorney, he was angry and dissatisfied. At that point Bokuto felt a slight drop of hope hit him.
"That would be all, you honor" Akaashi went back to his table, he sighed. He knew what was coming next and what he had to do. "I want to call the plaintiff, Kiyoko Shimizu, to the stand"
A tall, beautiful girl stood up from her seat, Bokuto saw how Oikawa mouthed something to her, he must really want to win this case. Bokuto knew Kiyoko, he would see her at the gym quite often, however she was one of those girls who would only go there to snapchat them "working out" and post a picture of their asses on Instagram.
"Kiyoko Shimizu, you didn't describe the man who assaulted you that clearly, why?" Akaashi went to the stand again.
"Well.. I couldn't. It was dark and I couldn't see him that well" she said, her voice uncertain.
"Then, would you agree that your described physical appearance of the man could be inaccurate?" Akaashi flashed a smile at her, while Oikawa let out a sigh.
"Y-Yes. It might be inaccurate" she let her head down.
"Is it true that the night before the assault you broke up with your boyfriend of five years?" Akaashi asked, Kiyoko immediately looked up, her eyes wide.
"Objection, you honor!" Oikawa stood up, everything was going in the opposite direction of his initial plan.
"What is the reason?" The judge asked, Oikawa thought for a second before answering.
"Her relationships have nothing to do with the case" Oikawa said confidently.
"As a matter of fact, you honor, it does. That's why I asked" Akaashi interrupted Oikawa.
"Overruled! Please continue, Akaashi Keiji" the judge said. Oikawa angrily sat back and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Well, Kiyoko?" Akaashi raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, it is true" she sighed.
"Your boyfriend is a 6'1, well built male. You had already filed a report against him before for violence. Is it possible, Ms. Kiyoko, that your ex-boyfriend could have been the man who assaulted you?" Akaashi looked at her with a cold smile on his face. No mercy. No empathy.
"Now that you say that, yes. He could have been.." she bit her lip out of nervousness.
"That's all, you honor" Akaashi said and finally went back to his seat next to Bokuto, who at that point felt a little bit more confident in himself. Akaashi was a professional after all.
"I'd like to call the defendant, Bokuto Koutarou, to the stand" Oikawa said loudly. Bokuto stood up, but ws he continued walking the stand looked more and more terrifying. As he sat down he finally got a good look at everyone in the courtroom. They were staring at him suspiciously.
"Mr. Bokuto, if it is true that you didn't assault Ms. Kiyoko, how would you explain your sock which was found at the scene of the murder of Ennoshita Chikara? After all, that piece of evidence is crucial considering all of the murders and the assault were of the same manner. Same break in method, same weapon" Oikawa asked. Now that he was so close to Bokuto, the other understood what Akaashi meant by "manipulator". He was looking at Bokuto with confidence, trying to throw him off.
"I cannot explain that" Bokuto said, he saw one of the jury members write something down.
"Alright, then another question, is it true you are seeing a therapist due to having a severe mental disorder?" Oikawa smirked. Bokuto's weak point was touched.
"Yes, I am seeing a therapist" Bokuto answered plainly, he remembered Akaashi telling him to ONLY answer the questions, he told him not to add additional information.
"Then, Bokuto Koutarou, is there a possibility that you committed those murders, and the assault against my client, while being affected by the disorder?" Oikawa laughed under his breath. Brat, thinks he won already.
"I cannot say as I haven't had any chapters of changing personalities recently, at least not that I know of any" Bokuto said, but he knew his answer was bad, considering that Akaashi sighed in a disappointed manner.
Oikawa walked off with smug look on his face, however Akaashi was far from giving up. He still hadn't used his trump card, and he knew that once he uses it Bokuto will be proved to be innocent.
"Bokuto Koutarou, is it true that on the day of the murder of Mr. Ennoshita you were at the gym and you locker was right next to his?" Akaashi asked, Bokuto shivered slightly. There it was again, those vain eyes.
"Yes, it's true" Bokuto watched as Akaashi nodded.
"Then, could it be possible that you left your sock there and Ennoshita accidentally picked it up?" Akaashi tilted his head slightly.
"Yes, absolutely. I have a history of leaving my clothes there, however I usually get them back at the registration" Bokuto exhaled. Good theory, that's probably what happened, since Bokuto had no idea how else it could have ended up there.
"That's all." Akaashi said and Bokuto started walking back to his seat, but Akaashi remained in his place. He grinned to himself as he opened his mouth again. "I want to call Ukai Keishin to the stand"
A man with strangely dyed hair suddenly stood up, Bokuto recognized him immediately. It was the 24/7 shop owner.
"Mr. Ukai, can you approve that Bokuto Koutarou is a regular customer?" Akaashi crossed his hands. Ukai glanced at Bokuto before answering.
"Yes! Koutarou comes to the store every night. He usually comes at around 10:35 PM, orders a coffee to drink at the shop and buys snacks, since we talk a bit he leaves at around 11:30 PM" Ukai explained. The jury started buzzing a little bit.
"If I'm not mistaken, all the murders and the assault took place at around 11 PM. Mr. Ukai, could you also confirm that you have surveillance footage of Bokuto being at your store at the time of the crimes?" Akaashi asked and Ukai nodded, he answered with a simple "yes".
"Well, the evidence has been shown to you" Akaashi turned to the jury. "I believe you'll make the right decision"
The judge announced a small break while the jury decides whether or not Bokuto is guilty...

I'm really proud of this court scene. I watched a lot of Castle to get it right, I hope it's at least a bit accurate.
Okay, now to the important stuff, let me explain how this fic will go.
· Every chapter will be titled "Case:#?", relating to the amount of murders commited.
· Every chapter will be opened with a short description of the victim.
· The characters' personalities will be completely different from their original ones, also I must note that NOT ALL characters will be gay and/or bi. That's very unrealistic.
· GORE WARNING! This is a book involving murdering, so if you are easily affected do not read.
· ANGST WARNING. I'm pretty some of your favorite characters will be killed off.
· UPDATES WILL TAKE TIME.
Thank you and that's all. Hope you enjoy.
