[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

Personality: He might be tiny, but there's a lot punk in this little guy. He's quiet, but can be really snarky and rude. Amari easily gets annoyed when someone makes fun of his build, which in his eyes is disrespecting his father and mother. At times, he can be a hothead, but when there's dirt, a shovel, and some seeds, he is the most peaceful maiden in the land. He takes his work seriously, and admires people for standing up for what they believe in.
Likes: Gardening, studying plants, outdoors, sparing with Yuta, seeing people eat the crops he grew in content, taking care of people, and his family (father).
Dislikes: Meat, but still eats it to get protein, people who disturb him when he's busy, people who try to pick a fight with him or make fun of his build, or seeing Yuta or anyone he cares about hurt.

I'll be adding more to it later as the story progresses!

Amari Koyama was working in the tribe's garden, gathering food for the upcoming feast next month. Even though there was a long time to spare, the green head decided to start early so they had enough. All of the surrounding villages depended on Amari's tribe for resources, food, and water.

The 17 year old gardener has lived everyday like this, planting seeds in the dirt, watching them sprout into greens day by day. His life was a boring one. Seeing there wasn't much to do, Amari decided to back inside the tent and take a refreshing nap.

When he woke up, he heard a roar of laughter throughout camp. As he sat up, his best friend, Yuta, pulled back the curtain with a big grin on the boy's face.

"Amari! What are you still doing in bed!?" Yuta exclaimed as he rushed over to his friend to pull him off the makeshift mattress. "Come on!"

"What the hell is going on..." Amari grumbled as he trudged outside.

The tribe's big fire was lit, it's smoke reaching up towards the night sky. His eyes flickered to the commotion and saw a group of men coming out from the edge of the forest carrying a cage with someone, no, something in it. Amari couldn't see much of the creature because of his height, except for it's wings, which were wounded and covered in blood.

"WE HAVE CAPTURED THE BEAST!" One of the huntsmen proclaimed, earning loud cheers from the rest of the tribe.

Then a loud thump of a staff was heard from behind the crowd, revealing the leader of the tribe, Issac. He was wearing a pleased smile on his wrinkled face, calmly stepping forward towards the cage.

"Ah yes, the demon of the forest will finally be fed to the Overlord. With this, we shall live another hundred years in peace!" Issac smiled and the crowd cheered again. "Now to prepare for the feast, we must fatten up this skinny creature."

He gestured towards the the creature, Amari still unable to see. The boy didn't care much about the commotion, thinking they probably brought home another bird. But as he started walking back to his tent to study seedlings, a roar caught his attention.

"YOU'LL NEVER FEED ME TO THAT THING YOU HUMAN SCUM!" A loud, rumbling voice shouted. "I'LL KILL YOU!"

Amari then heard laughter from the crowd, and teasing at his abrupt comment.

"Ohohoho, well aren't you a unique beast! Spitting out nonsense, my, you're quite funny," Issac smirked as he smoothed out his long, white beard. "Guards, bring him to the containment tent."

After a few seconds, Amari watched the cage being carried into the large tent, hearing screaming and cursing coming from inside.

Next to him, Yuta let out a chuckle and sighed. "Man that monster sure is a rowdy one, eh?" He asked as he nudged Amari in the side.

The green hair gave a shrug, his eyes still lingering on the loud noises. It could talk? It was surprising, for him at least. Yuta must've seen creatures like him before since he was a huntsman in training, he's seen creatures like him everyday. But Amari was a gardener, he had only been in the forest a couple of times when he was a kid but now he just normally stayed in the fields.

When he was young, Amari wanted to become a huntsman, his father was one, and boy, did he look up to him. His father taught him about gardening as well, showing Amari different plants and growing different plants. He was an extremely intelligent and patient individual who would tend to his needs since the mother had died when the kid was born. One day however, his father disappeared on a mission into the forest, and never returned.

Amari waited days, which turned into weeks, which turned into months. After waiting for so long, he assumed his loving father, was dead. That day onward, Amari never entered the forest again, thinking he would disappear like him.

Issac knocked him out of his gaze, seeing the old leader in front of him with a soft expression.

"Amari," Issac smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You are the most skillful gardener here, so please make sure the beast gets all the nutrition it gets. Make sure to feed it every day!"

Before he could answer, the old man turned back around and bid the tribe members goodnight before walking back to his own tent.

Two Amari and Yuta's age walk by them, poking Amari's bun in the process.

"Aww, Princess Amari gets to do gardening for the beast with his dainty little hands~!" One of them cooed.

"I bet you'll be eaten alive little bunny~! Munch on those carrots fast!" The other cackled.

After the two guys leave, Yuta places a hand on Amari's tense shoulder. "They're assholes Mari, don't mind them!" Yuta tried to calm down the heat bellowing inside his best friend's chest.

Ever since he was a kid, Amari was tiny and had the figure of a lady. Thin, smooth skin, flat chest, small build, and the most feminine face the tribe had ever laid their eyes on. What didn't help was that Amari refused to cut his hair, because his father said it reminded him of his mother, so he had to honor that.

Amari shoved Yuta's hand off him and charged towards the two guys who were still making their way back laughing at a shared joke.

"I'LL SHOVE A CARROT UP YOUR ASSES IF YOU CALL ME BUNNY ONE MORE TIME!" Amari screamed. Before the guys were even able to turn around, Amari had them pinned down, feet crushing the boys into the dirt. "What do you say?"

"S-SORRY!" They screamed out in unison.

When satisfied, Amari let the them scramble back to their tents, dusting off the dirt from his shoes while standing up.

Yuta let out a laugh and smiled, "Jeez, they were in it for sure!"

Amari rolled his eyes, a small smirk on his face, "Just go to your tent and get some sleep. You're delivering meat to the northern village with Shimaru Sensei tomorrow right?"

Yuta's eyes sparkled at the name of his teacher and gushed happily. "T-That's right! I should sleep, Sensei will be impressed if I arrive earlier than him!"

After hugging, Amari went back around the the big garden and started cleaning up. Everyone was sound asleep by the time he was done, so he slumped against the wooden shed and slid down to sit. He closed his eyes, too tired to get back up.

"Maybe I can..." He began to think as he curled into a ball, eyelids getting heavy.

But before he could even close his eyes he heard footsteps approach him. He opened his eyes and saw Issac holding a plant of greens in front of him.

"I meant to give this to you earlier, but, before you go to bed, could you give this to him?" He said, handing the plant to Amari.

"To... who?" The boy asked, staring down at the chopped salad and potatoes, realizing he had grown these not long ago.

Issac helped pull him up and gestured to the big tent. The tent where the creature was captive. Amari's eyebrows furrowed slightly but nodded. It seemed quiet so it was probably sleeping.

Amari made his way there, curious of what this beast looked like.

Would it be a huge monster with claws, sharp teeth, big head? But he had seen that it had wings, a beak maybe?

But when he pulled back the curtain, he was very surprised. Instead of a beast, or monster, he saw a human... lying against the cool metal bars with a calm expression on his face. Behind the man rested, two beautiful, but wounded wings. Against the candlelight, the guy was glistening, it wasn't what Amari was expecting at all.

There was a small opening at the side of the cage which was presumably for food. Amari slid the plate under, making sure not to stir the creature awake. He then got up, looking back at the guy before closing the entrance of the tent. For some reason, Amari felt an overwhelming urge to stay with him but decided against him. Like the bully said before, he could really get eaten.
