*TW: guns, violence, overall really sad things...*

It was another pouring down rainy morning. Toni didn't want to get up, she was too tired of with what went down last night. She reached for Sweet Pea but he wasn't there. She began to cry, recalling the fight they had last night.

She found out two weeks ago that she was pregnant, both teens being sad and happy at the same time. Sweetpea was so excited he had to tell everyone in Riverdale, he could never keep a secret. However, yesterday she had found another girl's underwear in his bag, and he admitted he had a fling before they got together and he swore on his dads grave she forced herself on him, Toni didn't care.

She kicked him out, he's staying with Jughead apparently. She cried for hours, he apologized profusely, saying he forgot to tell the whore he was in a relationship.

Toni pushed the thoughts of last night out of her head and dragged herself to the bathroom, mascara stained her face.

She started to cry more, before there was a knock at the door. She looked over at it and hesitated, she didn't want to see his face right now. She didn't want him to see her crying.

She blinked back the rest of her tears and she opened the door. She was immediately engulfed in a hug by none other than Betty Cooper, one of her best friends. Toni started to cry even more, she was heartbroken.

Toni led Betty inside and they both sat on the couch. Toni asked her how she was and Betty asked her how she was, even though Betty already knew how she was. Betty told her that she stayed at Jug's and how Sweet Pea told them everything.

Betty said she screamed at him for about 30 minutes before Jughead kissed her to shut her up, saying Sweet Pea already felt bad enough.

"Did you eat anything T?" Betty asked with a worried expression on her face. Toni swallowed.

"I- I tried but-" she cut herself off and looked at the floor. She hadn't eaten, but she knew she had to for this baby. Betty took her to the bathroom and cleaned up her face, "cmon T, lets go grocery shopping." Toni just nodded and did her best to cover her puffy and red eyes.

Betty grabbed a shopping cart while Toni followed. They went along their shopping as anyone would when Betty saw the entrances were being closed off in the store, and all the cashiers were ducking.

Betty and Toni went into the nearest isle and saw an Indian woman, looking like she was going to burst into tears. Betty quietly walked over to her and asked what was going on, the woman explained there was an active shooter in the store. Toni's eyes widened.

Betty huddled around Toni as they were footsteps wondering the store and then a gunshot. Betty covered her mouth with her hand and tried not to cry. Toni was frozen in shock, they heard the footsteps and then saw the shooter right in front of them. Betty and Toni both put their hands up.

"M-my names Elizabeth Cooper and this is my best friend Toni Topaz, I have a sister and a niece and nephew while Toni has no family, I have a boyfriend who is very caring. Toni is two weeks pregnant and she just found out her boyfriend cheated on her and we were just getting some food." Betty said between little sobs.

Toni nodded her head, the shooter pointed their gun at either one of them and then quickly turned around and shot the manager, who was trying to approach him by using Bettys monologue as a distraction.

Betty's eyes were shut closed and Toni looked down. The shooter turned back to the girls, Betty forced her eyes open and looked down,

"T-Toni! Y-you're bleeding!!"

Toni looked at the shooter, not breaking her eye contact, "I- I know"

"Did he s-shoot you?" Betty hissed, horrified at the blood now running down Toni's leg.

"No," Toni hissed, still not breaking eye contact with the shooter,

"I- I'm having a miscarriage Betty.."

Betty let out a huge gasp and started to cry a little, doing her best to keep it to low sobs. Toni was devastated, but she didn't show it, the shooter aimed his gun at Betty.

"N-no! Shoot me." Toni exclaimed, "I- I just lost my boyfriend and now I lost my baby so my life is shit right now, she has something good! Please just if your going to shoot anyone, shoot me." She showed the shooter her scars from her past, "Look, I've already tried to do it, many times...and my life's always been hell."

Betty was silently sobbing, the shooter stared at Toni for another moment and walked out of the store, immediately arrested. Toni fell on her knees and Betty pulled herself together.

They decided they weren't going to continue shopping and they saw the Indian woman from before, clinging onto what looked like her husband, who had come to pick her up. They were glad she was alright.

Toni walked silently to the car, Betty turned on the news radio and they identified the shooter, some guy named Peter. Betty rolled up to Toni's house and walked her inside.

Toni looked up and saw Sweet Pea and Jughead on the couch, both looking at the floor. Toni started to cry and locked herself up in her room.

Sweet Pea stared at the ceiling trying to hold back his tears but he couldn't really help it, he hated seeing her sad. Betty started to cry too and explained to them what had happened in the store.

Betty told them everything, including the part where Toni told the shooter to shoot her.

Toni was on the bedroom floor, sobbing. She was supposed to start a family, she was finally with the one who made her the most happy, her best friend, but then her life went to hell.

He was truly sorry for letting it happen this time. It completely broke him when he realized what he had done. He finally felt his life turn to the good side when he was with Toni, she made him feel good, and like a better person. He was going to be a dad, and she was going to be an amazing mother.

"W-why was there b-blood on her?" He asked, swallowing hard.

When he heard about the miscarriage, he needed to see Toni. He went over and knocked on the door.

He needed to be there for her, whether she was mad or not. He bought them promise rings, instead of getting married so early in age. They made a promise that if something happened they would be there for each other no matter what.

"Toni...please" he said sadly, his voice cracking.

Toni laid on her bedroom floor, doing nothing but breathe. She didn't even change out of her bloody clothes.

"Toni...open the door please."

No response again.

"I'm calling rings.."

Sweet Pea waited a minute before hearing the lock click, he flung open the door and bear hugged Toni, who just stood there, looking lifeless. He didn't let her go, and he started to cry. He never cried, but this time, he sobbed.

Toni held on tightly to him, ignoring all the facts that she was mad at him, and just held him. She moved them slowly onto the couch in the living room, before Sweet Pea crawled up and nuzzled his head by her stomach, crying. Betty and Jughead left and gave them some space.

Toni just hugged him, she knew he was in pain too, and they both wanted this fight to stop. They couldn't live without each other, even if they tried. He apologized about 30 times through his tears, she rubbed his back, as he continued to cry.

"I forgive you."

Sweet Pea tilted his head up, and looked at her. She looked at the wall and wrapped her arms around him, holding him close and rubbing his back.

"We lost our baby-" he choked out. Toni looked worried, then he said something that made her heart skip a beat.

"I almost lost the love of my life"

She looked down at him, just silently crying and holding him. She kissed his head, whispering it was going to be okay.

He didn't believe her, mainly because he'd never forgive himself for what he did, knowing he messes up everything.

She kept reassuring him that it was okay, and she really did forgive him. They needed each other in that moment and that was okay.

His sobbing slowly came to a stop, but he didn't move from Toni's lap. They sat in silence for about an hour, but felt like days. Toni's silent tears falling down their cheeks.

Within the next hour, almost everyone in Riverdale heard the news, mainly from Betty and Jughead. They heard a knock on their door and Toni had more strength to get up than Sweet pea did. She opened the door to see Veronica, Archie and Fred Andrews. Veronica hugged her immediately and Fred hugged her after.

Toni didn't say anything, she glanced over at Sweet Pea who was just staring at the ceiling, letting tears roll down his cheeks. Fred walked in and looked at him, Sweet Pea gave him the most miserable look he could.

Fred helped him up and hugged him. Veronica asked if there was anything they needed, Toni said food, Archie nodded.

They left and came back with food a couple hours later. Toni was sleeping and Sweet Pea just held her. He had to get up to help carry in the groceries Veronica and Archie bought.

He thanked them many times while they said it's no trouble. He looked at the bags on the counter and then at Toni and decided to cook dinner, she needed to eat. He made something simple, chicken and rice.

Toni stirred awake as he was almost finished with the rice, and the chicken was still cooking. He stopped and walked over to Toni, and kissed her head.

"Cmon baby, we are gonna eat something okay?" He said softly to her, knowing her mental state was very fragile. She just looked at the floor and shook her head a little. He frowned.

"Babe you have to eat. And then when your done, we are gonna take a bath with your scented candle stuff and then we are gonna relax and sleep. Please Toni."

She looked up at him and realized he wouldn't take no for an answer. She nodded and picked herself up, dragging herself to the table and sat down.

He gave her a plate of food and sat down next to her, starting to eat slowly. She picked at her food, not really hungry, he gave her a look and she shoved a piece in her mouth.

"Toni."

"Hm?" She said, looking up at him.

"You're not going to be sad forever. It may feel like it, but you're not."

Toni looked back down at her food and nodded, Sweet pea finished his food and washed his plate, slipping Toni's meds in his hand and placed it next to her. She reluctantly took it, and continued to slowly eat her food. He sat back down.

"We can always try again." He said quietly.

She glared at him.

"Not yet..." she muttered under her breath. He nodded, in almost full understanding, after she slowly finished her food, he picked her up and started running the bath.

He told her to undress while he turned around, and then he told her to get in the bath, which had lots of bubbles.

She gave him the ok and he turned around again. He smiled softly at her, while she started to cry again.

He kneeled down next to her and started to wash her body, careful not to expose her. She continued to sob as he scrubbed the blood from her legs and torso.

When he was done, he stood up and lit one of her candle things. She once told him that they bring calmness and stuff like that, he thought it was crazy. She laid her head back and lowered her tears to the minimum.

Sweet Pea heard a knock on the door. He kissed Toni's cheek and walked over to the door, when he opened it, he immediately hesitated to slam it.

Cheryl stood there, with flowers and what looked like a casserole. Her expression showed no means of bullying or being a bitch.

"I heard about what happened, and I wanted to show that you two are in my thoughts and prayers and this is no way by ever means a joke." She stated clearly.

He stared at her, "oh- and tell Toni I have completely gotten over her, so this is only a friendly gesture and I have no means of breaking up with Veronica." She added on. He continued to stare, and then he nodded.

"Thank you Cheryl." His expression turned softer, not by a lot though. She smiled a little and nodded, handing him the stuff and then turning and walking swiftly away.

"Cheryl" he called out after her.

"Yes?" She turned around,

"So I don't have to worry about you?" He smiled a tiny bit.

She shook her head, "No Pea brain, you don't" she chuckled as she walked away.

He shook his head hiding a small laugh and set the stuff down on the table. He went back into the bathroom to find Toni, out of the tub and wrapped in a towel.

"Everyone's dropping stuff by..." Sweetpea told her, Toni nodded a little and went into the bedroom to change. Sweetpea went in and gave her one of his shirts.

She came out and hugged him, wanting all the pain to go away. They both knew it would, in due time, and all they needed in this moment was each other.
