"Toni."

"Pea."

The pair stood face to face in their small trailer kitchen, hot headed and annoyed from the events that had occurred the night before.

Jughead had stated that he no longer wanted to run the serpents, for he had bigger matters to deal with..such as his pregnant girlfriend and her evil mother. He claimed that both Toni and Sweetpea were eligible for the job.

Sweetpea and Toni have been dating for about six months now, happily living together in Pea's trailer. But Jughead's announcement had sparked their first dispute.

Toni recalled the shouts being screamed from inside the tiny house. She reluctantly poured a glass of orange juice, scowling.

~the night before~

"We both know I'm more fit to run the gang!" Toni whined, slamming the door closed behind her. She tugged at her boyfriend's jacket, slightly annoyed at his stubbornness.

"Toni- you're just power hungry! Always have been!" He retorted, plopping himself on the couch.

"I AM NOT!" She yelled, bawling up her fists menacingly, "I deserve this!"

"Well dont you think I deserve it too!?"

Toni hesitated and rubbed her palms against her eyes, "no- I-"

"Face it Toni. You just want to be in control, all the time, and in every possible way. Ever since Che-"

"Dont you dare bring her up in this-"

Toni felt tears welting up in her eyes. They both knew her relationship with the one Cheryl Blossom had been toxic. At one point Toni stopped eating and became deeply upset. Cheryl wanted everything her way, the good and the bad. After they broke up, Sweetpea helped her back to her old self and Toni regained her confidence.

"You know damn well she was horrible to you! You're just trying to prove something!"

"So what if I am trying to prove something!?" She said, glaring up at him.

He froze, his expression softened. "Toni what on earth are you trying to prove?" He asked delicately.

She glared at him, shocked about how gentle he was being with her. He stared her down with soft eyes until she cracked.

"I want to prove I'm a good leader...and that I have what it takes and I want to prove a girl can run a gang." she said strongly. He muffled a laugh and looked down at the floor.

"What's so funny?" She yelled.

"Just the fact that we've both been through hell and back and yet you're making it seem like only you have!" He glared back at her.

The rest of the shouting had clouded Toni's mind, and didn't realized she was overflowing her cup. She cursed under her breath and threw the cup in the sink, not even bothering about how dry her throat was getting.

Sweetpea stared at her, "Can we talk about last night..." he mumbled looking up at her. She glared at him back and gritted her teeth.

"I want to be serpent queen." She growled. Sweetpea opened his mouth to say something but closed it. He grumbled something and stormed outside, going over to the Jones'.

"FP!" Sweetpea banged on the door, only to be flung open in a matter of seconds. Fp stood there, blinking and watching Sweetpea's face filled with anger.

"What's wrong Sweetpea." He said calmly.

"Jughead said-"

Fp crossed his arms, "yeah I know what my boy said, now what's wrong?"

"Toni and I are fighting over it."

Fp rolled his eyes,

"That girl's wanted to run this gang ever since she got in. God knows why."

Sweetpea shook his head, "I want it too."

Fp's eyes flickered from their trailer across the grass to Sweetpea. He scoffed,

"Aren't you two dating?" He asked. Sweetpea nodded.

"Why don't you two just run it together?" Fp said, crossing his arms. Sweetpea's face lit up as nodded his head.

"I like that." He said happily, smiling to Fp. Fp nodded, a little annoyed but he watched Sweetpea run back to his trailer.

"Toni! What if we just ran the gang together?!" He yelled as he opened the door. Toni looked up at him on the couch, she had a book in her hands.

"Why didn't I think of that before!?" He breathed, looking at her for a reaction. Toni stared at him.

"Took you long enough to suggest that." She said, staring coldly at him.

"What? You don't want to with me?" He scoffed. Toni smiled a little at him,

"I mean- I guess that could work." She said, playfully rolling her eyes. Sweetpea returned a playful smile and picked her up,

"So can we please stop fighting and go get our crowns?" He laughed. Toni bit her lip and nodded,

"But first." She interrupted, she kissed his neck, specifically his tattoo. Sweetpea got the message and put her on the couch, hovering over her while she took off her shirt. He grinned and kissed her neck.

"I freaking love you." He muttered under his breath, pulling off his shirt.

"I love you too." She said, biting her tongue at him.
