Pierre 🤍 & Camille ❤️
Camille ❤️
I'm at baggage collection.
I should hopefully see you
in around 15 minutes or so.
Pierre 🤍
Okay, I'm right by
the door. I have a big
sign!
Camille ❤️
Of course you do.
Camille struggled to haul her huge suitcase down the eerily quiet hallways of the airport. Her flight had been the last ones to collect their luggage, meaning that she had been longer than the fifteen minute time frame that she had given to her older brother. Despite the delay, she was more eager to see her brother now, the wait making her impatient.
Pulling her stubborn suitcase behind her, Camille rushed out of baggage claim where she found her older brother waiting for her. True to his word, he did indeed have a sign for her, 'CAMILLE GASLY' with a picture of her from when she was just seven years old. What were older brothers for if not to embarrass their younger siblings?
Camille decided it would be best to ignore the sign and instead abandoned her luggage and jumped into her brother's arms. It had been such a long time since she had been able to physically hug him. Facetime hugs were not the same.
The Gasly siblings had always been close growing up. Coming from a large family, the two were the closest in age and as Camille was Pierre's only younger sibling, he had always felt protective over her. He had scared off most potential boyfriends as well as rescuing her from potential bad influences. It was all part of his role as the big brother.
"I missed you, mon petit." Pierre spoke into her hair as he held her body up. Camille's legs were wrapped tightly around his torso and his arms were wound tightly around hers in an effort to keep her from falling back onto the ground.
It had been several months since Pierre and Camille had been able to see each other in person. Ever since the new Formula 1 season had started, Pierre had been travelling from one race track to the next with very little time in between for him to be able to see his family. The youngest Gasly sibling had never felt so fortunate to have just graduated university and have her social media accounts as a source of income.
"Someone else has missed you." Pierre smirked when his sister returned to her feet and when she actually paid attention to who was standing beside Pierre, she noticed that her childhood best friend, Charles Leclerc had been standing there the whole time.
Camille had no idea how to act around Charles. They had last seen each other when she was thirteen years old. It had been her birthday and as the pair had sat in the tree house in the Gasly's back garden, Camille made him agree to the most ridiculous pact.
It was nobody's fault in particular that they hadn't spoken in almost ten years. Charles had been focused on making a career out of his passion and Camille was experiencing all the things that a teenager should experience: boyfriends, parties, homework, exams, underage drinking and heartbreak. She had longed for Charles to be there through it all. The blonde had missed having him to turn to, missed having him distract her by talking about his races, the latest thing to happen in Monaco or even just telling her silly jokes.
However, Camille also had to remember how strongly she had felt for Charles as a thirteen year old. If Camille didn't know any better, she would probably say that she had been in love with him, even with his Justin Bieber haircut.
"Charles, long time, no see." The blonde gave him a wide, yet forced, smile. Charles could always tell when she was faking it, and even after all this time, she wasn't any better at hiding it. The smile didn't reach her ocean blue eyes but despite that, Charles still felt the breath hitch in his throat.
The Monegasque would never admit it to anyone but when he was fourteen years old, he had only agreed to that pact in the hopes that Camille would reciprocate his feelings in years to come. He had been extremely naive back then and he realised now that it was stupid but there was no way that Camille would ever remember or even bring it up.
"Yeah, it's been a while, hasn't it?" He managed to breathe out as Camille pulled him in for a hug. It wasn't the same, comforting hug that he remembered from when he was younger. This one was cold, stiff and very awkward. It had to be one of the least enjoyable hugs that Charles had ever experienced.
The reunion had been nothing like Charles or Camille had expected. Neither one of them knew what they had been expecting but the awkwardness that they were experiencing was not it. As Pierre watched on, he was desperately trying to think of something that he could do or say to end the exchange. It was painful to watch.
"Why don't we go back to the hotel and you can catch up with everyone else as well? I think Lando misses having someone to make jokes out of." Pierre chuckled before slinging an arm over his sister's shoulder and leading her to the car that he had driven to pick her up in.
If Camille was able to push past the awkwardness, she would have Charles back in no time and that excited her.
note from e !
Hey everyone! Welcome to the second chapter of 'Style'! I kind of forgot to add an author's note to my last chapter. I guess the excitement of returning to writing got the better of me! As you can see, this book is a mix of social media and real life interactions. I personally love her interactions with Pierre, they're definitely my favourite sibling duo I've ever written.
In terms of my update schedule, I don't really have one. I'm hoping for something like every three days which would translate to a minimum of two per week but we'll see how it goes. I'm not great at sticking to schedules.
With school coming to an end for the summer, what's everyone's summer plans?
- I don't plan that far in advance but I'm going to a show with my mum and gran on Saturday, I'll probably keep working weekends and just enjoy some time off :)
Enjoy this update! I'm already working on something else :) thank you F1 for bringing back my inspiration and motivation.
Enjoy and stay safe!
Lots of love, e x
