user1: I know that Pierre is her brother but I thought she would have posted something about Charles too?
user2: Pierre made history at Monza last season though so in their eyes, it's kind of his track.

user3: bestie vibes from Camille and Monique, we love.

user4: Let's hope it's another good one for Pierre!

user5: without trying, she's stunning

user6: It's a crime that all these hot drivers are around such a beautiful woman and she's still single
camillegasly: they're like brothers to me!

user7: if there was anything between her and Charles at any point, it's definitely over. She just brother zoned him.

The moments before a race were some of the most nerve wracking for the youngest Gasly sibling. Camille loved watching her brother race and she loved the joy that it brought him but the risks and the danger involved were always playing in the back of her mind. Nonetheless, she always looked forward to a race.

"Good luck and stay safe out there, okay? I love you." Camille kissed her brother's cheek and hugged him tightly before allowing him to get himself ready for the race. She would be hanging around the paddock for the duration of the race and Monique would be joining her. AlphaTauri had been kind enough to invite her to stay and watch the race in the comfort of the paddock. That way, if anything were to happen to her brother, she would be kept in the loop a lot easier than if she were in the stands.

Whenever Camille was able to wish her brother good luck in person, she finished it off with a tight hug, afraid that it may be the last one she ever gives to him. That was the level of fear that Formula 1 racing instilled in her.

As Camille was walking back to her seat where Monique would be waiting for her, she spotted the signature red of Ferrari. It would be rude for her not to wish her best friend good luck, even if he had unknowingly crushed her heart. Even if she wanted to escape and leave him to it, it was Charles that had noticed her first. He walked towards her with a large grin on his face and without a single word, he pulled her into what might have been the tightest hug that she had ever received.

"Good luck and please stay safe out there, okay? No accidents or 'inshidents'. I said the same thing to Pierre because I love both of you too much to lose either of you." She grabbed hold of his face and made him promise her that he would be safe. Charles had never seen Camille become so serious before the start of a race. He had known her to become anxious but never to this level before.

"I promise, I'll be so safe. You have my word. You don't need to worry about me." He assured her, taking a hold of her hands that covered the sides of his face.

The pair gazed into each other's eyes a little bit longer until Carlos was forced to interrupt whatever it was that was going on. They had a race to start.

"I'll see you after." Charles promised, pressing a kiss to the palm of her right hand before dropping both of them altogether and returning to his team and his car.

On the way back to her seat, Camille couldn't help but run over what had happened with Charles in her head. He had never kissed her before. Not a kiss on the forehead, a kiss on the cheek or a kiss on the hand. Not in a friendly way, not in a chivalrous way and not in a romantic way. Not that she had ever been aware of. Why had he kissed her hand? Was she reading too much into it?

"You seem distant. You okay? Pierre and Charles will be fine, they always are." Monique reassured Camille. The brunette tried to take hold of Camille's right hand in an attempt to comfort her but the blonde snatched it away. She let her fingers on her left hand trace where Charles had allowed for his lips to linger. The area still felt warm and tingly. It was a feeling that she was growing to like and should it happen again, she wasn't sure that she wouldn't become addicted.

With her attention back on the track, the drivers in their cars took to their starting positions on the grid. Engines were revving loud and fans were cheering for their favourite teams and drivers. It wasn't long before they all got moving and Camille knew that she wouldn't be able to breathe until both Pierre and Charles had crossed the line safely.

Only a few turns and bends after each car got started, Camille noticed that things started to get congested on the track. Charles was in the clear but Pierre looked as though he was in a spot of bother. Sparks were flying from his car. Another bend was coming up and as he went to turn his car, he lost control and it went flying into the barrier.

"Pierre!" Camille called out. She could feel pain in her chest and her stomach dropped. Water was quickly filling up in her eyes as she watched the scene unfold.

The moments that followed felt like the longest of Camille's life. Radio silence. Camille's entire world revolved around Pierre in that moment. She could no longer hear the loud revving of the other cars or the yells of the crowd, only the silence of Pierre's radio.

"I'm okay." He eventually spoke and Camille let out the breath that she hadn't realised she had been holding. A sob escaped her lips and she was immediately comforted by Monique.

The race continued to play on the screens in the paddock and if Camille listened carefully, she could make out Charles communicating with his team over his radio,

"How is Pierre? Is he okay?" The Monegasque asked his team, his voice filled with worry as he thought about one of his best friends being hurt. The Ferrari team were quick to reassure their driver, keen for him to continue the race with no distractions. However, Charles had another concern.

"And Camille? Is she okay? Does she know that he's okay?" He continued to ask questions and as Camille watched, she felt her heart ache for the man. He was driving in what was a race of great importance to him at high speeds and his concerns lay with her brother and herself.

"Charles, she's fine. She's being reassured by the team and her friend. You have nothing but the race to worry about." Charles thanked his team for the updates and the cameras cut to Pierre walking back to the paddock.

"Camille, I'm okay." She heard a voice behind her and as she turned, she was engulfed into a hug by her older brother.

"I promised you, didn't I?"

note from e !

Hello, loves! I promised you all an update 'soon' so here it is. I had such a tough time on placement this year (a whole load of stuff going on at home and a tutor who was just a complete and utter cow) but I passed! I also had our school ball last night which was such good fun. I've been very busy lately and I'm going to be busy again come tomorrow as I'm back at uni and on Friday, we're getting our puppy :)

Anyway, it's been a while. How have you all been?

Enjoy and stay safe!

Lots of love, e x
