i knock on the door to juju's apartment and waited for her to open it. i flew to cali to come check on her cus her teammates are worried.

a few seconds later the door swung open revealing juju. she was wearing a hoodie and sweats and her eyes were puffy.

"bae im so glad you're here" she said hugging me tightly.

"i came to check on you.. what's going on with you mama ?" i asked.

"idk tbh.. i can't sleep, my brain is clouded, and my body is tired" she mumbled leading me to her room.

"you need a break for basketball my love. being a student athlete is draining i understand that" i said.

i got into her bed and then she got in after me wrapping her arms around my waist. i lightly rubbed her back.

"yeah it is" she mumbled.

"what's got you thinking so hard ma ?" i asked.

"idk my head be everywhere. and we're long distancing and that makes it harder because-

"ma yk im not cheating on you and there ain't no other girl if that's what you're worried about" i said.

"it's not that.. nb understands me like you and you're so far away and i be feeling so alone" she said.

"i understand that baby but yk you can call me when you need to talk, cry, vent. if you need me to cheer you up or if you ever need someone to just sit otp with and not say a word just to comfort you"

"long distancing is hard but that doesn't make me love you or it's not gonna make me be there for you any less" i said.

"you promise ?? i can call you if im about to cry or breakdown or get mad. or if im overthinking or need someone to gts otp with" she asked.

"ofc mama. that's what im here for you to love you and help you and be here when you need it most. i will always answer to help you" i said.

"thank you bae.. that means a lot and i really be needing that reassurance" she said.

"yk i got you beautiful. you don't have to do this alone" i said.

"i love you" she mumbled leaning up to kiss me.

"i love you more pretty girl" i said.

"now let's talk about malia.. a little birdie tells me that you got mad at her and you been acting funny since" i said.

"im not mad at her" she argued.

"then what do you call it ?? and not only that i was told that you got upset and left the locker room. what was that about ??" i asked.

"they kept pressuring me and i needed time to myself it's not a crime. nun was wrong with ionk why she telling you that need to stop talking" juju said making me lightly push her.

"judea that's not nice at all. she's just worried about you don't be mean. tell me what happened" i said.

"that day you called me at 4 a.m. and i was at the gym i got home and i made coffee and i was on my laptop. she touched my shoulder and scared me knowing i got bad nerves"

"she made me waste my coffee and drop my laptop cus it fell & the coffee ruined my white couch. idk i just broke down after that" ju said.

"baby.. i will buy you another laptop boo" i said shaking my head.

"it's not about the laptop okay my emotions are just not up to par right now" juju told me.

she hummed and yawned making me chuckle. i lightly rubbed her back hoping it would put her to sleep.

"fine, livvy came to see me so i can't wait to get home" i said with a smile.

"aww period. we coming over we wanna see our friend" rayah said.

"awesome im so glad you guys just invited yourselves" i joked making them laugh.

my phone vibrated making me pick it up and i read liv's text message.

"where is malia short a** ???" ken asked. i shook my head and grabbed my phone to call her.

"otw, my alarm didn't go off im almost there" she said. we said our goodbyes and hung up.

"im not. speaking of she's coming over tonight cus i think i need my best friend in order to stay sane" i said shrugging.

we waited for malia to get here and then we headed out of the locker room for practice. we warmed up and shot around.

"hey" i said running over where malia was shooting.

"you done being childish ?" she asked making me scoff and laugh.

"i wasn't being childish malia.. i was figuring out how to deal with my feelings and my emotions" i said.

"yeah but you didn't have to ignore me and stuff. it's not like i scared you on purpose & i offered to buy you a new laptop" she said.

"but it's not about the d*** laptop malia i keep telling you that. i've been so drained to the point where i can't sleep or eat"

"and yes i was p*ssed about the laptop but just think about the sh** i got going on bro. i came over here to try and make it right and you wanna throw ts in my face"

"okay judea you got it" she said.

"woah both of yall be nice to each other" rayah said.

"man that's her bro. she tripping for what when she already know how i get when im going through stuff" i said walking back to where i saw shooting at first.

i refuse to argue with malia and she wanna take ts personal when she know how i get when my emotions are everywhere but okay fr.
