I stirred awake to the sound of voices, slightly dis-orientated. I shifted slightly. I no longer had the weight of Rafes arm snaked around my waist as I listened in to the hushed voices, they were speaking as if they didn't want to be heard, their voices slightly under a whisper as they spoke as silently as they could.

"Dude you have a fucking pogue in your house?" a voice whisper-shouted, causing my body to still as I listened into their conversation.

"Not just any pogue, the fucking pogue baby," another voice added, prodding at Rafe as he let out an audible huff.

"Hey, hey, hey," Rafe shushed them, lowering his voice as he continued "I'm using her to get back at the pogues alright, you know all the shit they've done to us, yeah?"

His words made me freeze, my body suddenly becoming hot as I continued to listen to their hushed voices. This can't be happening.

"Why her though?" The voice shot back.

"She's the most vulnerable alright, now get outta here she's gonna be awake any second with you morons basically shouting," Rafe argued, shooing the two boys out of the house.

I didn't move once I heard the footsteps gradually get farther away, eventually the sound of a car door slamming could be heard as they drove away in their expensive jeep.

I pretended to just wake up, sitting up as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. Rafe was standing near the door where his friends had left him, his hands in his pockets as he watched me get up from the couch. He shot me a smile to which I didn't bother returning as I walked past him, down the stairs as I waited patiently by the door.

Rafe was quick to follow me, his footsteps echoing against the marble floors as he paused beside me, a frown pulling down on his lips as he looked over to me with a small laugh "No good morning, Bambi?" he teased, smiling as he watched my straight face.

"Could you take me home? I'm not feeling well," I mumbled, I didn't return the smile for the second time as I boredly nodded towards the door.

Rafes face fell as he stepped towards me, reaching out to place a hand against my forehead in an attempt to measure my temperature, I quickly swatted him away "Are you okay?" he questioned, his voice no longer holding his once happy tone.

I just nodded bluntly, waiting for him to gather his car keys so I could leave.

He got the hint as he disappeared back to his room, leaving me by myself as I fought back the tears threatening to spill over my eyes.

Goddamnit Marley.

Rafe's sandal covered feet padded down the stairs, a pair of sunglasses over his eyes as he made his way to the car, myself following close behind as I refused to walk beside him.

I was furious.

We didn't speak as he drove to my house silently, I didn't look at him as I stared out into the blur of fields passing by.

He pulled into my driveway, turning to look at me as he frowned "Let me know if you're okay, alright?" He questioned, reaching out to brush a fallen piece of hair behind my ear as I pulled away, curtly nodding as I jumped out of the car.

I didn't bid him a goodbye since he simply didn't deserve it. He was exactly what the pogues had explained him as, a no good piece of shit. Even though I would never admit it to them, I wouldn't hear the last of it if they knew that they were right.

My stomach bubbled into a knot of nerves as I neared the entrance of our run-down house, pushing the creaking door open as I listened for my Dad's loud voice.

I heard nothing but silence as my feet creaked against the wooden floors, leading to the kitchen as I rounded the corner.

"Marley." He breathed, sitting at the dining table with a newspaper clad in his hand, he pulled his reading glasses off his face, laying them on the wooden table as he stood up, waltzing over to me as I stayed glued to my spot near the doorway.

He didn't speak another word as he enveloped me into a tight hug, squeezing my sides as he let a sigh pass his lips.

My overwhelming emotions suddenly bubbled over the top, letting a small sob leave my lips as tears started to soak into his worn shirt.

He pulled away quickly, wiping at my tears as he gave me a short smile. "I'm sorry Marls, you know I love you." Was all he said before he dashed to the fridge, opening it as he reached inside.

I wiped at my tears, sniffling slightly as I watched him pull out a plastic container. "You're favorite," He grinned, holding up the chinese takeout as I wandered over to him. I was almost thankful that he refused to speak about the incident, I simply didn't want to talk about it let alone think about it after what had happened today. For now I was thankful for his silence.

He dished out our food silently as we made our way to the small living room, turning on the small t.v as we sat on the worn leather sofas, munching on our takeout and watching the bright coloured cartoons dance across the screen.

I wasn't paying much attention though, my mind simply on the blue eyed jerk whom I for some reason couldn't get out of my head.
