"But she collapsed, there was blood." Jeremy says, arms crossed over his chest.

"Honestly, Jeremy, she's okay. She's just...she's been through a lot." Meredith says, "Is there anyone you want to call?"

Jeremy looks down at Anastasia who sighs, "Yeah, we'll call Stefan and Damon."

โ‚Šหš.เผ„๐–ฅธ

"๐™๐™ƒ๐™€ ๐™๐™’๐™Š of you did what?" Damon asked from the passenger seat of the car that Stefan drove, still driving towards the Atlantic to dump Klaus' body.

"We took her to the hospital." Anastasia tells her father in a slow voice, almost like she was talking to a kid in special ed, rolling her eyes.

"When you find your sister unconscious, you call 911." Jeremy tells the two vampires over the phone.

"Not when you have a parade of vampires at your disposal!"

"Every remaining Original is gonna want Elena dead to stop Alaric. She's a sitting duck in there." Stefan says, "Though, I'm sure Anastasia could talk Kol into not trying to kill her."

"That boy hasn't listened to a damn word I said since I've met him." Anastasia scoffed, "He's as hard headed as they fucking come."

Jeremy decides to ignore the Kol comment for right that moment, "Well, Meredith wants to keep her here for observation."

"Jeremy, get Elena home, we're on our way." Damon says before hanging up.

"I'll go talk to Meredith." Jeremy says.

Anastasia pulls her phone out of her back pocket, "I'll call Caroline and the others."

โ‚Šหš.เผ„๐–ฅธ

๐—ง๐—ฌ๐—Ÿ๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐—”๐—ก๐—— Matt open the front door of the Gilbert home, Caroline walking in behind them with her arm wrapped around Elena, Anastasia and Dylan walking up behind them.

Anastasia walks in perfectly fine, but Dylan on the other hand is stopped before he can make his way over the threshold.

"Uh, yeah. I haven't been invited in yet." Dylan sighs as his head hands down, eyes cast on his feet.

"And Jeremy isn't here to invite you in." Anastasia sends a smirk in his direction, causing the boy to send her a glare.

"I'm fine. I just...I want something to eat first." Elena tells the blonde as she leads her towards the couch.

"We're on that, as soon as we make sure no one is lurking in the closets." Tyler tells her before him and Matt makes their way up the stairs.

"Alright, couch, now!" Caroline demanded the Doppelganger.

"Ugh, I told you I'm fine."

Caroline grabs a blanket off a chair and follows the brunette, and covers her with the blanket. "Doctor says rest, you rest. Now, what can we get you? Do you want some tea, maybe some vodka?"

Anastasia smirks with her head tilted, "Both will help you sleep."

"I know, I'm being smothering." Caroline says as she sits next to Elena on the couch, "It's what I do."

"No, it's - it's nice." Elena tells her.

"I'm thinking maybe tea with Vodka." Caroline says, both her and Anastasia going into the kitchen.

Elena stays seated on the couch and looks at a picture on the end of the table of her and her parents, and one of her in her cheerleader uniform on.

Dylan leans up against the frame of the open front door and smiles sadly at the girl, thinking back on some of the times when he was still a teenager - a human teenager.

โ‚Šหš.เผ„๐–ฅธ

"๐—ช๐—›๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—˜ ๐—œ๐—ฆ everyone?" Elena asks Matt as she wakes up.

"Tyler and Caroline got a call from their mom. Ellie went upstairs to take a shower. And Dylan went back to the Boarding house to pack his stuff to go back to New York." Matt tells her, "What were you dreaming about?"

"Sophomore year." Elena tells him.

"Seems like forever ago."

"It was. I'm sorry that I strung you along. I should have figured out what I wanted and just been honest about it." Elena says, "I'm now making the same mistakes with Stefan and Damon. It's not right what I'm doing to them either, I - I have to let one of them go."

"Which one?" He asked.

Stefan enters the house and quickly walks across the room towards Elena.

Elena stands up from the couch and walks towards him, "Stefan."

"Hey."

โ‚Šหš.เผ„๐–ฅธ

"๐—œ'๐—  ๐—•๐—˜๐—œ๐—ก๐—š coddled. I feel completely fine." Elena says as Stefan and Matt are cooking in the kitchen, Anastasia walking down the stairs brushing out her wet and tangled hair, dressed in a pair of shorts that she had left in Jeremy's bedroom and one of his t-shirts.

"You're on house arrest." Stefan says, "You're supposed to be coddled."

"Wouldn't it be smarter if we just got you the hell out of town?" Matt asked as he sat plates down on the table.

"And do what? Go on the run for the rest of my life? No thank you." Elena gets up, "And I'm not an invalid. I'm done with the couch." She leaves.

"So, you're just gonna let her call the shots?" Matt turns to look at Stefan.

"Elena's been calling the shots since day one." Anastasia says as she pulls her buzzing phone out of her back pocket, ignoring the incoming call from Kol and quickly texting him that she would call him back when she had the chance.

"Letting her make her own decisions." Stefan says.

"Even if they're wrong?"

"Nothings wrong with free will, Matt. Trust me, you don't realize till you lose it." Stefan tells him.

"Stefan."

The two vampires and Matt look towards the front door where the door is wide open and Elijah is standing in front of the Doppelganger.

A happy squeal leaves Anastasia's lips as she rushes into Elijah's arms, wrapping her limbs around his body, "Lijah!"

"Hello, Spider Monkey."

"All we need is to take that stake away from him. Once he's been disarmed, the weapons in my possession, my family will scatter to the ends of the Earth and Alaric will follow us." Elijah tells the four.

"And you'll just run?" Stefan asked, taking a seat next to Elena.

"We've done it before. Klaus and Rebekah spent the better part of a thousand years evading my father. What's another half century while Elena is able to live out the rest of her natural life?"

"We've finally stopped him, Elijah." Elena says, "After everything that he's done to us, I can't just let you bring him back."

"I give my word, Elena. I will not revive Klaus within yours nor even within your children's lifetimes." Elijah says, "Perhaps that will finally teach him some manners."

"Why should she trust you? All you've done is screw her over." Matt says.

"And for that, I am deeply ashamed. But know this, she could have been dead the instant I walked through that door tonight, so Elena, I leave it to you to make the decision whether to trust me or not."

"Not! Hello?! Did that concussion give you brain damage!?" Damon asked from the phone held in his daughter's hand. "His lunatic siblings will kill you the first chance they get!"

"Rebekah and Kol will honor the terms. Kol, especially with Anastasia talking to him." Elijah gestures toward the hybrid sitting to the left of him. "If you return Klaus' body to us, Elena will come to no harm."

Elena looks at Stefan.

"Do we have a deal?" Elijah asked.

"No! No, no, no, no!" Damon calls out, "Did I mention no?"

"Elena, it's up to you." Stefan tells the Doppelganger.

"Oh, come on!"

"Dad! Shut the hell up!"

"Why do you want Klaus' body?" Elena asked him.

"He's my brother." Elijah tells her, glancing over at Anastasia. "We remain together."

Elena sighed, "We have a deal."

"Thank you, Jeremy. You're doing the right thing for your sister."

"I know."

Jeremy looks over at Elena and hangs up the phone. Stefan, Matt, Elijah and Anastasia are sitting at the table, looking over at him, "He bought it."

"Damon! Damon, where are you?" Rebekah calls out for him.

Alaric pulls out the white oak stake and begins to walk towards Rebekah's voice while she is still searching for Damon.

"Damon, this isn't funny."

Rebekah walks down a line of storage units while Alaric continues to search for her. She keeps walking down a row when she's suddenly grabbed from behind by Damon, who covers her mouth so she won't scream, before pulling her back so they are hidden behind a unit.

"Rebekah. Shhh."

Alaric continues to search for Rebekah, but stops in front of one of the storage units and sees that the lock had been broken off. He opens the unit door but the casket that held Klaus' body was gone.

In another part of the warehouse, Rebekah and Damon are wheeling Klaus' casket to a her, but Alaric comes out of nowhere, grabbing the blonde original and slamming her head against her car, then throws her to the ground.

Damon rushes at Alaric but Alaric kicks him out of his way. Alaric opens the casket and pulls out the white oak stake tucked away in his jacket.

"No!" Rebekah rushes to get up.

"No, don't!" Damon yells, mind flashing back to where his daughter was at.

"No! No! No!"

Alaric stakes Klaus' in the heart, causing him to gasp and his eyes to fly open.

Damon grabs Rebekah so that she can't run to the casket as Klaus' body goes up in flames as the blonde continues to scream and cry for her brother.

Alaric turns around, "Next."

"Rebekah, run. Run!" Damon yells out to her, pushing the Original towards the opposite direction and she takes off.

Damon rushes towards Alaric with the hopes of distracting him, but Alairc throws him to the ground and rushes off in search of Rebekah.

"Bad news, brother." Damon says, "Alaric stakes Klaus. He's dead."

"I feel okay, do you feel okay?" Stefan asked him.

"No."

"It took Sage about an hour before she got sick." Stefan said.

"Yeah or Klaus was lying about being the sire of our bloodline."

"Well, if he wasn't lying, an hour is not enough time to get you all the way back to Mystic Falls."

"For us to have our epic goodbye, Stefan?"

"Not us, brother. You and Elena." Stefan looks behind him to where Jeremy and Anastasia sat on the grass across from each other, one with an annoyed look on his face and the other throwing grass into his lap. "You and your daughter."

"Well, I guess you'll just have to say goodbye for both of us, won't you?" Damon asked him, "Call me if you cough up a lung. And Stefan?"

"Yeah?"

"Tell my daughter that I love her."

"Kol." Her voice cracks, a sob leaving her lips as she thinks about not only her father, but Klaus as well, "Kol, Klaus is dead."

"Do what?"

"A - Alaric was turned into a vampire by your mother, and he's so hellbent on ending all vampire life, so he stakes Klaus about an hour ago." Anastasia cried, "I'm so sorry."

"Hey, hey, Darling. It's okay, you're okay." Kol tells her, "You'll be fine. Our lives are still bound to each other, you aren't dying unless I do."

"I - I know. But my dad, and Uncle Stefan." More sobs rack through her body as she falls to her knees.

โ‚Šหš.เผ„๐–ฅธ

"๐—œ ๐—ก๐—˜๐—˜๐—— to call Stefan, but my phone is dying." Elena holds her phone out.

Matt pulls his out, "Here. Use mine."

"Thanks." Elena looks up and sees a figure standing in the middle of the road, "Matt, look out!"

Rebekah stands in the middle of the Wickery Bridge and Matt swerves to avoid hitting her, which sends the truck flying over the guardrail and into the water.

โ‚Šหš.เผ„๐–ฅธ

"๐—ก๐—ข! ๐—ก๐—ข! No!" Anastasia runs towards the bridge, "Matt!"

"Anastasia!" Stefan screams as he watches his niece kick off the shoes on her feet and jumps over the bridge. "Goddammit."

Underwater, Elena continues to shake Matt vigorously, yelling his name as best as she could before using her elbow to try and break through the window.

Anastasia appears in the window on Matt's side of the truck and rips the door off as Stefan does the same thing to Elena's side of the car.

Seeing Stefan next to her, Elena shakes her head and points to Matt as the two stare into each other's eyes. With a defeated look on his face, Stefan swims across Elena and helps his niece grab Matt of the sunken truck and helps her swim him up to the tops.

Back underwater, Elena takes a few final breaths, shuts her eyes and her body suddenly becomes lifeless.

The Gilbert boy suddenly stops walking when he sees Alaric standing in the hallway.

"Jeremy."

Jeremy puts his phone down, "Haven't you done enough? And how'd you even get in here?"

"I don't know. I just wanted to say goodbye and it kind of happened." Alaric tells him.

"Ric?"

"I just wanted you to know that I'll always be here to look after you, Jeremy." Alaric says, "That you'll never be alone, okay? I promise."

"I don't understand." Jeremy says before realizing what must have happened after a moment of silence, "Oh my, God, you're a ghost. But if you're dead, that means Elena....,"

"What are you saying?"

"He was so worried, I didn't want to tell him, but I - I helped her." Meredith says, "She needed my help."

AND THAT'S A WRAP ON
SEASON 3!!! Finally, after
for-freaking-ever I'm done with Act 3 of this book, which means one act to go before this book is officially over, and I'll have to get to work on the sequel.

Now, it will be a little bit before I actually get started writing season 4 even though, I have the very last chapter already though out.

I have a couple other stories that I want work on, finish or get started on. I have a LOT of books saved in my drafts that are just rough copies of what I want to bring to life.

Until then, enjoy more of the stories that I do have published!
