โ๐ข๐๐๐ฌ. ๐ง๐ฌ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฆ the werewolf that we talked to the other day."
"Correct."
"And Jeremy is the boyfriend, Matt is the human working at The Grill, Bonnie is the vampire and Caroline is the witch?"
"Almost." Anastasia tells Dylan as the two of them sit in the boarding house. "Caroline is the vampire, and Bonnie is the witch."
"Got it. Wait, who was Vicki, Anna and Jenna again?" He shoots her a confused look, turning his body to lay on his side on the couch.
"Vicki was Matt's druggie sister who "dated" Jeremy and was killed by Dad. Anna was Pearl's daughter who was killed by John Gilbert, who was Elena's uncle slash father, who gave his life up to make sure that Elena lived. Jenna was Jeremy and Elena's aunt who was killed in the Sacrifice by Klaus in the ritual."
Dylan nods, "Okay, I'm caught up. Right?"
"Pretty much." Anastasia shrugs.
"And what about Kol?"
"Still daggered and in a box."
"So, not buried at sea?"
"No."
"Okay."
"You too." Damon snaps his fingers as he walks into the living room, heading towards the front door. "With me. We have stuff to do today."
"Like what?" Anastasia asks as she and Dylan follow after her father.
"Just get in the car, Anastasia."
ๅฝกโ
"WELCOME BACK to Chicago, Stefan." Klaus pulls open a door, leading inside of a warehouse
"What are we doing here?" Stefan asks, following after him.
"I know how much you loved it here." Klaus tells him, a smirk appearing on his face, "Bringing back memories of the good old ripper days."
"Blocked out most of them. All the blood, all the partying. The details are all a blur." Stefan had his hands on his hips, watching as a big truck drove inside, "All I remember back then was keeping my niece safe and out of harm's way.
"Well, that is a crying shame, the blocking part anyway. The details are what makes it legend."
"Yeah, well, I'll take your word for it." Stefan starts to walk away, "Like I said, I don't remember most of it."
"Ready to get down to business, then?" Klaus shuts the door behind them.
"Why am I still with you? We had our fun, your hybrids failed." Stefan crosses his arms over his chest, "I mean, don't you want to move on?"
"We're going to see my second favorite witch." Klaus walks by him, "If anyone can help us with our hybrid problem, it's her."
ๅฝกโ
ANASTASIA STANDS WITH her arms crossed over her chest as she watched her father laying in Elena's bed, waiting for the doppelganger to wake up.
Finally, Elena starts to move in her sleep, rolling over and laying on Damon's chest.
"Rise and shine, sleep head." Damon says lowly, hands behind his head as he looks down at Elena.
Elena lets out a scream as she jumps up from Damon's chest, pulling her covers up over her own. "What are you doing?! Get out!"
"You know you were dreaming about me." Damon tells her with a smirk on his face, "Explains the drool."
"Ugh. Oh, my God." Elena puts her hand against her forehead as she reaches over to check the time on her phone, not even paying attention to the figure standing at her door. "Six am. Seriously? Do you really have nothing better to do at six am?"
"Fine, don't come with the three of us to bring Stefan home." Damon shrugged. "See ya."
"Who is the three of us?"
"That would be him, Dylan and I." Anastasia speaks up, causing Elena to gasp and jump.
"Wait? What are you talking about? Where is he?"
"Who? Dylan? Sulking outside in the car because we wasn't able to step inside since he's not invited into this house." Anastasia tells her, "I can hear his annoying ass whining from here."
"Not him." Elena shakes her head, "Stefan? Where is Stefan?"
"Windy City." The father and daughter answer together.
"He's in Chicago?"
"Great observation." The Salvatore girl claps her hands in a sarcastic manner.
"Anastasia." Damon sends her a pointed look.
"Whatever."
"How do you know?" Elena asked Damon.
"It came to me in a dream." Answered Damon, "I was naked. You would've loved it. Start packing."
"Is he okay?"
"Well, let's just say he's not there to meet Oprah." Damon tells her as he pulls one of Elena's dresser drawers open.
"I'll be outside." Anastasia rolls her eyes as she turns around and starts walking out of the bedroom, "Someone needs to shut Dylan up before he combust from not being able to come inside."
ๅฝกโ
"I SURE HOPE we find him, 'cause it would suck if the last memento of Stefan was that crappy old necklace." Damon says as he drives his car with Elena sitting in the passenger seat, Anastasia and Dylan passed out in the back seat, leaning on each other for support.
"It's an antique, Damon." Elena tells him, "Like you."
"Hmm." Damon reaches into the back floor, bringing out one of Stefan's old diaries. "Read this. Paints a pretty little picture of Stefan's first experience in Chicago."
"It's Stefan's diary. I'm not going to invade his private thoughts."
"You need to be prepared for what you're about to see." Damon tells her.
"I've seen Stefan in his darkest periods. I can handle it." She holds the book out for him to take back.
Elena looks up in the mirror to catch a glimpse of the two in the back, "What's their story?"
"Oh, you don't want to invade Stefan's private thoughts, but you want to know about my daughter's past and relationship?" Damon keeps his eyes on the road.
"I just want to know that him coming back into her life isn't going to mess up the relationship between Stacie and Jeremy." Elena crosses her eyes, "He's been hurt too many times."
"So has she."
It's quiet for a few minutes as Damon kept his eyes on the road and Elena looked out of the side window.
"They met back in the 90's. I watched them for a couple of years, and they were happy with each other. I got pissed one day at Stefan, and I killed him, or I thought I killed him 'cause there he is." Damon began to tell Elena, "She was heartbroken and I think that's mostly why she was pissed at me for so long. She hated me more because of me killing her first love, than she did because I left her with Stefan when she was only four."
"Do you regret it?" Elena asked, "Killing him?"
"Every time that I look into her eyes."
ๅฝกโ
"STEFAN COULD LIVE anywhere in Chicago and he chose this?" Elena asked as they walked towards Stefan and Anastasia's old apartment.
"Gee, thanks." Anastasia rolled her eyes, "There used to be an all girls high school around the corner, but it shut down for "attendance issues"."
Damon shrugs, "Weird."
"If the two of you are trying to scare me into giving up and going back, it's not going to work." Elena tells them.
"Shh." Damon breaks the knob off of the door, letting it slowly creak open, "Here we are. Stefan's second personality home."
"Pretty obvious he hasn't been here." Elena said, brushing dust off of the back of a chair.
"Tour is not over yet. Anastasia."
With a roll of her eyes, her heels clicked against the floors as she walked over to a shelf, and pulled the lever to open the hidden room behind it. "There."
"Stefan hid his alcohol." Elena says sarcastically, "What a monster."
"Ugh, you dumb bitch." Anastasia mumbles, grabbing Elena by the arm to pull her in, turning her head forcefully towards the wall of names written in her uncle's handwriting. "Look harder."
"It's a list of names."
"That's a list of all of Uncle Stefan's victims. Each and every last one of them." Anastasia says before walking out of the closet, "Dylan, let's go."
"Whoa, where are you going?" Damon stops his daughter as she starts to pull her ex out of the apartment.
"Did you seriously think I was going to stay in a room with her the entire time we were here? I didn't come to fucking babysit. I'm going to find my uncle."
ๅฝกโ
"THIS DOESN'T MAKE any sense. Why don't I remember you?" Stefan asked as he followed Klaus back into the warehouse where his coffins were now being stored at.
"You said it yourself, that time had a lot of dark holes." Klaus answered.
"No, if you knew me, then why haven't you said anything?"
"I'm a little busy right now. Memory lane will have to wait." Klaus tells him
"What the hell is going on?" Stefan snapped, grabbing Klaus by the arm and turning him to look at him, "Answer me."
"Let's just say we didn't get off to a brilliant start." Klaus said.
"Wait. Does Anastasia know that I knew you?"
"She's very good at keeping secrets, that one." The original hybrid smirked, "I'm surprised you haven't learned about the guy she knew in Portland. Only she knows about that period of her life."
ๅฝกโ
"GLORIA!" ANASTASIA GRINNED as she rushed towards the witch, who held her arms open for the young hybrid.
"Little Anastasia." Gloria smiled, hugging the girls tightly to her chest. "What are you doing in Chicago after all these years?"
"I'm looking for my uncle and Klaus. Have you seen them?" She asked as they pulled away from each other, Dylan coming to stand next to her.
"Not too long ago. But I don't know where they went." The witch tells her. "They're running a little errand for me, if you want to wait on them to come back tonight."
"Yeah, I might do that." Anastasia smiles as she walks out of the bar with Dylan following her. "Goddammit!"
"Whoa, what's wrong with you?" He questions, pulling her to a stop on the sidewalk.
"I'll tell you what's wrong with me. We made the biggest fucking mistake in bringing Elena to Chicago with us."
"What? Why?"
"That little errand that Klaus and Uncle Stefan are running for her, they're going to get Rebekah's necklace. The one that's around Elena's neck."
"What does that mean?"
"It means that Klaus is almost close to figuring out why his hybrids aren't working." Anastasia tells him as she storms away.
"What does she have to do with his hybrids not working?"
"Because Elena's blood is what helps create them. Without her blood, he can't create any hybrids. That's why they're all dying." Anastasia said, "Do see what I'm trying to tell him."
Dylan looks at her in realization, "Meaning he finds out she's alive, he's gonna be coming after her all over again."
"Yeah. Which means we're all fucked."
ๅฝกโ
"FINALLY, I CALLED you an hour ago." Elena breathes out as Damon enters the apartment in Chicago with Anastasia and Daniel coming in after him.
Damon throws a bag at her, "Make yourself presentable. I know where Stefan's gonna be tonight."
"I told you that I was practically discovered by Klaus and you're worried about what I'm wearing?" Elena asked.
"I had an hour to realize what a bad idea it was to leave you here alone, process it, and move on." Damon said.
ๅฝกโ
"WHERE'S REBEKAH?" GLORIA asked the two vampire's sitting at her bar, placing two beer in front of them.
"She'll be here." Klaus tells her, "I can't just conjure her on demand. What's with you? I thought Chicago was your playground."
"So this is why you asked me to be your wingman?" Stefan asked the hybrid. "Because you liked the way that I tortured innocent people?"
"Well, that's certainly half of it."
"What's the other half?"
"The other half, Stefan, is that you used to want to be my wingman."
ๅฝกโ
"WELL, WELL, WELL. Look what the cat dragged in." Klaus smirked as both Damon and Anastasia sat on either side of him, his attention only on the female to his left. "You hate Chicago, Little Warrior."
"Hmm, I wonder why that is." Anastasia rolled her eyes at the original hybrid.
"You don't give up do you? Either of you." Klaus smirked as he twirled a mini umbrella in his hands.
"Give me my brother back.....you'll never have to see us again." Damon said.
"Well, I am torn. You see, I promised Stefan I wouldn't let you die, you're niece can't die at all thanks to her little bond with my brother, but how many freebies did I really sign up for? And clearly you want to die, otherwise you wouldn't be here, so...,"
"What can I say?" Damon asked, hitting his hand against the bar, "I'm a thrill seeker."
Anastasia rolls her eyes at her father's choice of words, not even flinching as Klaus suddenly grabs him by his neck.
"Oh, dear, what was that?" Klaus asked as he hears a bone break, holding the pointed end of the tiny umbrella at Damon's throat, "I'm a little boozy, so you'll forgive me if I miss your heart the first few tries."
"Oohh." Damon groans as Klaus stabs his chest with the umbrella.
"It's like watching two little children argue over who's going to get to use the little red firetruck first." Anastasia pouted, as she reached over to grab the beer bottle that belonged to Klaus, taking a swig of the warm and nasty liquid.
"You want a partner in crime? Forget Stefan." Damon struggles to breathe, "I'm so much more fun."
Klaus pretends to think about it before throwing the Salvatore male into a glass table across the room. Breaking a leg off of a chair, he stands over Damon, "You won't be any fun if you're dead."
Before he could actually stab Damon in the chest with the wooden leg, Gloria uses her magic to set the piece of wood on fire, "Not in my bar. You take it outside."
"You don't have to negotiate your brother's freedom." Klaus slammed Damon back against the floor, "When I'm done with him, he won't want to go back."
ๅฝกโ
"KLAUS IS OBSESSED with siring these hybrids. The second he knows you're alive, he'll figure out why it's not working." Stefan tells Elena as the two of them stand outside, Dylan leaning up against the car to make sure Klaus didn't have anyone following Stefan.
"Look, I know you're trying to protect me, but I can't let you do it." Elena said, walking closer to the vampire, "Come with me, Stefan, please."
"And what do you expect if I do? Huh?" He questioned in a loud tone, "It's never going to be the same, Elena."
"I know that."
"I don't think you do."
"God, I feel like I shouldn't be here." Dylan mumbles, under his breath.
"I've left bodies scattered from Florida to Tennessee. Innocent people. Humans." Stefan tells her, trying to get Elena where he was coming from.
"Lexi found you like this before." Elena says, not getting it that Stefan wasn't going to just be the same again after spending so much time with Klaus, and killing people. "In the twenties, and - and she saved you."
"And you know what I did after that? I spent thirty years trying to pull myself together. Trying to pull myself together so that I could raise my niece. To a vampire, that's nothing. To you? That's half your life."
"I can't give up on you, Stefan." Elena fought.
"Yes, you can." Stefan said, "It's done. That part of my life is done. I don't want to see you. I don't want to be with you. I just want you to go."
"Uncle Stefan!" Anastasia jumps into his arms, catching him by surprise.
"Hi. Hey." Stefan chuckled, tightly hugging his niece back as even more tears built up in his eyes at the sight of the only good thing in his life.
"When are you going to come home?"
"I don't know, kiddo. I don't know."
