𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗡 eyes girl followed Stefan down to the cellar where her father had been locked away from the last three days.
It had also been three days since Anastasia had gone to see Jeremy and found him on the porch of his house, kissing Vicki Donovan, and had yet to speak to him.
She had been ignoring him, dodging him in the hallways at school, and avoided his phone calls and didn't answer his text messages when he texted her.
Anastasia didn't know why she felt so hurt over the boy. She had already know that it wouldn't be easy getting over somebody that you had known longer, than just girl who had just show up out of the blue along side her uncle after a hundred something years after they fled the first time around.
"Where's my ring?" Damon groaned once he felt the presence of his daughter and brother.
"You won't be needing it anymore." Stefan told him.
"How long have I been here?"
"Three days." Anastasia answered this time, playing with her daylight ring that she never once had taken off her finger since being turned into a vampire.
"What are you doing?" Damon questioned.
"During the dark ages when a vampire's actions threatened to expose, or bring harm upon the entire race, they would face judgement. They sought to reeducate them rather than to punish them." Stefan explained to his brother.
"You know what will happen if I don't...feed on blood." Damon choked out through the hunger her felt in his throat for not drinking blood the last couple of days.
"You'll grow weaker and weaker. Eventually, you won't be able to move or speak." Anastasia crossed her arms over her chest. "In a week, your skill will desiccate, and you'll mummify. A living corpse. Unable to hurt anyone. Ever."
"So what? You're both just going to leave me in the basement, forever?"
"I've injected you with enough vervain to keep you weak. Once your circulation stops, I'll move you to the family crypt, and then in fifty years, we can reevaluate." Stefan say.
"I'm stronger than your think."
"You always have been. But you're not stronger than the vervain. And we all know it." Stefan tells him, "I'm sorry. Didn't have to be this way."

"HE'S AWAKE. He's weak, but it's probably best to stay out of the basement. He's Damon. I'm not sure how dangerous he still might be." Stefan told Zach as him and Anastasia were getting ready to leave for school.
"You're both going to school?" Zach questioned the two.
"Came here to live a life, both of us." Stefan says, "It's about time I get back to that. And Elena, if she's still speaking to me."
"Why haven't you called her?" Zach asked, glancing at the green eyed girl that kept hitting the decline button on her phone every time ' JEREMY GILBERT ' popped up onto her phone screen.
"What am I supposed to do? Feed her another lie?" Stefan asked, "I hate lying to her, Zach. I'm not good at it. She already thinks I'm hiding something."
"What choice do you have?" Zach questioned. "You came here because you wanted to live as normal a life as you and Anastasia could. You knew this was going to be a part of it."

"ARE YOU ignoring me?" Jeremy walked up to Anastasia as she stood at her locker to get her things out of it, "Dumb question. I know you are ignoring me and I'd like to know why you're ignoring me."
"I'm not ignoring you." She said, not moving to look at him.
Anastasia didn't know what she wanted to say to him. Hell, she didn't even know if she actually had feelings for the human boy, or if it was just because he was the first person in a long while that actually paid her any form of attention other than Kol when he was.....alive.
"I've just been busy."
"Yeah? Busy with what?"
"Helping my uncle." She said, still not looking at him.
Jeremy let out a sigh before he slammed her locker door shut, and moved to stand in front of it and her, "Seriously, stop ignoring me. Stop lying to me, and tell me what I did wrong so that I can fix it."
Rolling her eyes, Anastasia goes to walk away but Jeremy catches her by the arm and pulled her back to face him.
"Okay, I'm done playing nice. Cut the bullshit and tell me why you haven't been answering my calls or texts in the last three days."
Letting out a long sigh, the Salvatore girl crossed her arms over her chest and looked down at her feet, "The other night, I came by your house to see if you wanted to hang out. And I saw you...kissing Vicki. So I left."
"You saw me - Anastasia, I pushed her off of me as soon as I realized what was going on." Jeremy tells her, "The night of the football game, Vicki found me sitting beside the bleachers and she told me that her sleeping with me had nothing to do with the drugs I had been giving her during the Summer."
"I don't have to for th-,"
"No, you're going to listen to me." Jeremy cuts her off, "She told me that she sees the way I look at you and has since I met you in the Grill and bought your drink. Then she told me that I should go for it because she's to strung out on Tyler, and that I would be happier with you, then I am with her."
"Jer-,"
"And I like you, Anastasia. But I need to clear my head and try to get over Vicki before I try and date anyone else." He tells her, "And I get it if you never wanna hear from me again, but I just had to finger out why you were
ignoring-,"
Anastasia cut the boy off this time, grabbing the side of his face, "Jeremy, shut up."
"Yes, ma'am."
"I like you, too. But with everything going on with my uncle's I'm not ready for any type of relationship." Anastasia said, "But I promise you, the moment I am ready, you will be the first person that I tell. And if you want to hang out and sleep around with Vicki, I can't tell you not to do that. I just don't want to be someone's second choice because I've been there, and it hurts. Trust me."

"-HE'S GONE, Caroline." Anastasia hears Stefan tells Caroline as she walked over to where Elena and Stefan stood at her locker.
"When is he coming back?" Caroline asked.
Stefan looked down at his niece before looking over at the blonde and Elena, "He's not coming back. I'm sorry."
"This is a good thing, Caroline." Elena tells her.
"I know that."

"I THINK you should talk to him." Matt says as Stefan drags his niece into the Grill behind him, not wanting to leave her at home with her father locked away in the cellar.
"Talk to who?" Stefan asked, "I'm so sorry that I'm late."
"What happened?" Elena asked him, glancing over at Anastasia.
"I got held up." Stefan tells her.
"Is everything okay?"
"There was this thing with my uncle." Stefan said.
"And you couldn't call and tell me that you were going to be late?" Elena questioned.
"Okay." Matt says loudly, earning a giggle out of the otherwise quite Anastasia, "You two, or three, have fun."
"I'm really sorry. It was unavoidable." Stefan said.
"What was unavoidable?" Elena asked. After a moment of him not saying thing and only looking down at his feet, she let out a small chuckle, "Okay."
"Oh, uh, Elena, please..."
"No, Stefan, don't you get it? Every question gets a vague non-answer. What is so awful that you're afraid to tell me?" Elena asked.
"I think I should g-,"
"I know you." An older man spoke up as he looked towards the Salvatore's, "My God."
"I'm sorry?" Stefan glanced down at his niece.
"I know you, both of you." The older man says, "How can it be?"
"I think you have the wrong person, sir." Anastasia tells him, wrapping her arm around her Uncle's bicep out of nerves.
"You haven't aged a day, either of you."
"I'm sorry, excuse me." Stefan turns to Elena, "Hey, can we - can I take you home and we can talk about it? Is that okay?"
"Wait, what was that?" Elena asked him.
"I - I don't know. Uh, nothing."
"Right, nothing. Okay, um...I gotta go, Stefan." Elena tells him before walking away.
❱ 🌿⋆。˚
"YOU OKAY?" Jeremy asked, leaning against the door frame of his sister's bedroom.
"Is Vicki in there?" Elena asked, nothing knowing that instead of it being the Donovan girl in her little brother's bedroom, it was Anastasia.
"Don't answer a question with another question. And no, it's just Stacie." Jeremy tells her, "What's wrong with you?"
"I'm miserable." Elena answered.
"Well, you should go get something to eat." Jeremy tells his sister before going into his bedroom where Anastasia was laid out on his bed waiting for him, "Alright, which movie are we watching this time? And if 'The Outsiders' comes out of your mouth, I'm going to kick you out out of my bed."
"What's wrong with 'The Outsider's'? It's a good movie!" Anastasia exclaimed.
"The only reason you want to watch 'The Outsiders' is because you have the hots for Rob Lowe." Jeremy tells her, grabbing his laptop and going to sit next to her on his bed.
"Don't forget Matt Dillon and Patrick Swayze." She grinned.
"Who can forget Patrick Swayze?" Jeremy grinned, yanking the Salvatore into his arms, "But I think we should watch 17 Again."
"Oooh, Zac Efron, please." She grinned, dodging the pillow that he grabbed to hit her with.

"I BET you're feeling pretty good about yourself, aren't you?" Damon asked his brother, who had come back to check on him in the cellar, Anastasia having stayed the night with Jeremy.
"Not particularly."
"You won. You got the bad guy. Now nothing could come between you and Elena." Damon says, "Except the truth. The lies will catch up to you, Stefan. As long as you keep lying to yourself about what you are."
"The beauty of you in there and me out here...is that I can walk away." Stefan says before he leave the cellar.

A CAR wash in a bikini was the last place Anastasia wanted to be on a weekend where she should've been able to sleep in until around noon.
But no, Elena had barged into her brother's bedroom and woke the green eyed girl from her sleep so that she could get dressed and endure the monster that is Caroline Forbes.
"No friend discounts. No freebies. No pay ya laters." Caroline stressed to Elena and Anastasia, "We are not running a charity here."
"No, we are not." Elena told her blonde friend, Anastasia looking down at her feet in amusement, the only thing covering the top half of her body being a black bikini top and a pair of blue jean shorts that hugged her figure perfectly.
"Hi." Stefan walked behind the two girls, eyeing what his niece was wearing with a frown on his face.
"Hey!"
"The even is called 'Sexy Suds', you know." Caroline eyed Stefan and Elena before she walked away.
"Did we just get scolded?" Stefan asked.
"And judged, yeah."
"Wow."
"I'm sorry, but I guess you're going to have to take that off." Elena says.
"I think you have to go first." Stefan smiled down at her.
"And I think I'm going to help Matt and Bonnie." Anastasia tells the two, a look of disgust on her face.
"Hey!" Stefan called out as she walked away, "Where are the rest of your clothes?!"
"You heard Caroline. It's called 'Sexy Suds'." She smirked, blowing him a kiss before she walked towards the car that Matt and Bonnie were drying.
"Uh-uh, no." Bonnie tells the blue eyed boy, "None of that tortured pining stuff."
"I'm just observing." Matt tells her.
"I'd say otherwise, Matty." Anastasia playfully smiled at him.
"You want me to spray you with the hose?" Matt looked at her.
"Oh. Tiki, this one's yours." Bonnie pointed to the beat down red car that pulled up.
"Why do I always get the homely ones?" Tiki asked before looking at the boy who owned the car, "Just to be clear, your car's a p.o.s. I mean, we can wash it, but it's still a p.o.s."
"You don't have to be so rude." Bonnie told her.
"Rude is uglying up the road with that junk."
Anastasia watched as Bonnie glared at Tiki as she stuck the water hose into the bucket just before it exploded in his face.
"Whoa!" Matt rushed to take the hose from the girl and bent it so the water would stop before he handed her the towel he had over his shoulder.
"What the hell?" Tiki asked in shock.
"Wet and wild, Tik." Matt grinned.
Stefan rushed over to his niece, grabbing her arm as he was what happened and pulled her away, "What the hell, Anastasia?"
"Uncle Stefan, that wasn't me." She tells him quietly, "It was Bonnie."

"YOU'RE GETTING soap in those." Elena told her boyfriend and Anastasia as they washed a car together.
"Oh, it's fine."
"I noticed that Damon has one, too. Is there a story behind it?" Elena asked.
"Yeah, it's the family crest from the Italian Renaissance." Anastasia told her as she kept washing the car.
"Hmm. Whats the stone?"
"It's called Lapis Lazuli." Stefan tells her.
"Oh. You should both really take it off." Elena tells the two, "I could put it in my bag."
"No, it's - it's fine, really." Stefan says, "Thanks, though."
"Okay. I'm going to get some towels." Elena tells him.
"Okay."
"I could've taken mine off so she wouldn't have been confused as to why we won't take them off." Anastasia tells her uncle. "I wear my necklace and bracelet too."
"No. Keep them on." Stefan tells her.

"THAT'LL BE twenty dollars." Elena tells the older man standing in front of her, "Hey, I saw you last night. You were talking to a friend of mine, at the Grill?"
"Well, I - I thought it was people I knew." The older man tells her.
"Stefan Salvatore and his niece Anastasia Salvatore." Elena tells him their names.
"Nah, it can't be. It's just my mind playing tricks on me." He shook his head.
"Where do you think you'd seen the two of them before?" Elena asked.
"When I first moved her, I stayed at the Salvatore Boarding house." He tells her.
"Oh."
"Stefan and Anastasia were just passing through to visit their uncle. I mean, non of us knew they were even here until the attack."
"The attack?" Elena asked.
"Their uncle got killed." He says, "Mauled by an animal in the woods."
"Their Uncle Zach?"
"Mm-mmm." He shook his head, "Joseph."
"I'm sorry, sir. I don't think I'm familiar with the story." Elena tells him.
"Oh, how could you? I mean, this happened years ago." The man said.
"Grandpa, you gotta go." Tiki walked over to the man and Elena, "Mom wants you home. Okay?"
"Ah."
"He wasn't bugging you, was he?" Tiki asked Elena, "He's a little alzy-heimer."
"No, he was sweet." Elena shook her head, "Hey, sir, I'm sorry. Um, are you sure that the man and woman you saw, that you knew, their names were Stefan and Anastasia Salvatore?"
"Yes. I remember their rings and Stefan's brother-,"
Elena cuts him off, "Damon?"
"Yeah. Stefan and Damon Salvatore. Anastasia was Damon's daughter that Stefan was taking care of."
"When was this?" Elena questioned him.
"It was early July, 1953." He says before he looked as if he were thinking about the dates, "Yeah. June, 1953."

"CAROLINE FINALLY free you, huh?" Stefan asked walking over to Elena, having lost his niece to Bonnie and Matt again.
"Uh, I don't know where she went." Elena pushed her hair back, "She abandoned me. Hey, I realized earlier, I had no idea that your family was from Italy.
"No? Last name Salvatore didn't do it for you?" Stefan asked her.
"Right. Duh. Are there any other Salvatore's in Mystic Falls?" Elena questioned, her mind racing with what Tiki's grandfather had told her.
"My Uncle Zach." Stefan tells her.
"Where did everyone else go?"
"Kinda just spread out."
"Hmm."
"Why?" Stefan asked.
"I'm just trying to learn more about you."
"Hmm."

ANASTASIA AND Bonnie leaned against a black car, laughing at an old story about Stefan the Salvatore girl had told the Bennett teen.
"Sweeper duty." Tiki walks over with a broom in her hand and looks at Bonnie.
"What?" Bonnie asked, confused.
"We have to clean the pavement."
"It's a car wash." Anastasia butts into the conversation, "By definition, the pavement's clean."
"But not dry." Tiki says.
"And I'm doing this why?" Bonnie asked, sharing a look with Anastasia.
"Caroline bailed, so that leaves me in charge."
"Fabulous."
Anastasia watched as Bonnie kept her focus on the pavement in front of her.
Soon, smoke starts coming from the puddle of water before the towel sitting in front of it caught on fine, and caught Tiki's car on fire along with it.
"Bonnie!" Anastasia called out, rushing toward her, "Uncle Stefan! Uncle Stefan!"
Stefan, having heard his niece calling out for him, rushed over and grabbed Bonnie by the shoulders, "Bonnie! Bonnie! Bonnie! Hey!"
The fire went out as Stefan turned her around to face him and Anastasia.
"What just happened?" Bonnie asked the two of them.
"You were in some kind of a trance." Stefan tells her, eyes glancing over at his niece.
"Did I do this?" Bonnie whispered after taking a glance at the smoking car.
"I think so, yeah." Stefan nodded his head.
"Nobody else saw, did they?" She asked, "Don't tell anybody. Please."
As she walked away, the uncle and niece looked at each other with worry.

"ZACH!" STEFAN'S voice called out into the house after seeing the dead crow laying on the floor, "Anastasia, is Zach upstairs?!"
In a second, she was in front of her uncle, "No. What's wrong?"
"Zach!" Stefan rushed down to the cellar with Anastasia right on his heels, both of them finding Zach's lifeless body laying on the ground, "Oh, no, Zach."
Anastasia gasped, hand flying up to cover her mouth as tears pooled in her eyes, "Uncle Stefan."
"It was your dad." Stefan tells her, "We need to find him before something else happens."
Anastasia followed after her uncle as he grabbed a wooden stake and headed straight for the front door.
As he pulled it open, Elena spun around, staring at the two in fear.
"What are you guys?"
