Rain was heavily falling down at a steady pace. Madison watched the rain collide with the Earth as she sat in her desk chair. Her room smelled like fresh nail polish, this was because Madison had just completed the task of painting her nails a light baby pink color.

A movie, which was Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone, was paused on her television screen. It was at the climax of the movie where Harry Potter saves the day and every thing goes back to normal at Hogwarts. The reason the movie was paused was because the popcorn had ran out, and Peter had left the room in order to go make a new bowl. They were the only two in the house. Tony, Pepper, and Rhodey had left to go look at wedding decorations and they wouldn't be back for hours because the shops were on the other side of the world.

He had been gone for a few minutes, and in that time Madison finished her nails. Which is what led her to be staring out of her glass door that lead to her balcony. It was interesting for her. The way the rain fell and then slid down the glass in every which way. It was all random, but there was also a beautiful pattern to be held in all of its randomness. It brought a grin to her face.

"What are you thinking about, Sunshine?" Peter questioned.

Madison spun around in her chair and gave a simple shrug. Peter then held up the new batch of popcorn in one hand and then a big mug in the other. "I also brought you hot chocolate."

"Why didn't you make you a cup?" Madison asked, tilting her head to the side in curiosity.

It was now Peter's turn to give a shrug. "I couldn't carry all of it," Peter answered, setting down the items and flopping onto Madison's bed.

The girl gave a smile as she looked back out the window, "We can share it like we always do."

Quietness then fell upon the room. Madison once again became entranced by the rainfall. Watching the small puddles bounce on her balcony as more and more drops became added.

"Sunshine?" Peter whispered as he placed a hand on her shoulder. Madison then was pulled out of her daze once again as she looked the boy in his eyes.

Madison liked the way his eyes looked. They were a beautiful, intelligent brown and had golden flecks scattered around inside of them. Peter's eyes were always filled with a comforting warmth that could make anyone in the world feel safe.

"What are you thinking about?" Peter repeated, giving Madison a questioning look.

The girl gave a smile, "I'm thinking about the rain."

Peter gave a small laugh, "Why are you thinking about the rain? Are you worried that your parents will get caught up?"

"No," Madison answered honestly, "I'm just thinking about it. I think we should go dance in it."

"Dance? Like in the rain?" Peter asked, his face falling into confusion.

Nodding her head, Madison brought herself to her feet, "Yep. I hope that's not weird."

"No. Not weird at all," Peter stated, "I think its a great idea."

She then grabbed Peter's hand and began to lead him out of his room and through the house. He went without saying a word and soon the two were standing in the middle of the field that the Avengers Facility overlooked.

The rain was now falling around both of them. Madison let out a laugh as she looked up to the sky and felt the water fall on her skin. When she looked back at Peter she noticed that he was staring at her. A look in his eyes that she couldn't place.

"What is it?" Madison asked, raising an eyebrow.

Peter simple shook his head, "Nothing. We don't have any music though."

"Hey, Nick, play music please," Madison yelled out.

Music then started to play and Madison started to dance with the beat. Peter was awkwardly moving side to side, which caused Madison to burst into a fit of laughter. She then grabbed both of Peter's hands and started to dance with him. And soon enough both Peter and Madison were dancing wildly in the rain. Neither of them giving a care in the world.

Many minutes had passed and the two danced through a countless number of songs. But then a slow song started to play. Both Madison and Peter stopped dancing and looked at one another. Then Peter gave a small bow, "May I have this dance?"

"Why yes you may," Madison giggled, taking his hand that he had outstretched towards her.

Peter then pulled Madison in close and hugged her close to his chest. She then began to listen to the rhymical beat of his heart. It was an extreamly calming sound to Madison. Everything around Madison began to fade except for her best friend. And then her heart started to beat fast.

Then a memory resurfaced.

It was homecoming night and she was sitting in between Liz and Peter. With Liz's dad driving. Madison remembered this night very well, but the one thing that was new was the fact that she was holding hands with Peter.

When Madison flashed back to reality, she looked up at Peter. He gave her a look that seemed to ask her what was wrong. The girl stared into his eyes, "Why do you call me Sunshine?"

"Because you are a light in my life that I will never want to lose," Peter answered, giving Madison a smile.

Madison didn't give a reply as she pulled Peter closer to her. The memory and the answer running through her mind. Her heart was pounded out of her chest as she continued to listen to Peter's heartbeat again. She wondered what the memory meant.

Did it mean that her and Peter were once a thing. Did it mean that there was something more. Was that the thing that was pulling at Madison's heart. The idea of her and Peter together excited Madison. But it also scared her. If what she thought where true, then why did it end. And how in the world would Peter ever have feelings for her again if it were true.
