naomi was awoken to starships by nikki minaj blasting in her room with her led lights flashing in her eyes.

"wake up!!!!" lily and dior shouted into what naomi realized was a bedazzled megaphone. the obnoxious noise was loud enough to make her want to rip her ear drums out.

she groggily sat up covering her eyes from the flashing lights. soon as she went to get out of bed confetti exploded all over her room. 

"happy fifteenth birthday!!" dior and lily shouted once more tackling the girl in a hug. naomi laughed as they all fell back onto her bed.

"thanks now your kinda squishing me." she spoke muffled into a shirt. the two girls apologized and got off of her.

"do you feel any older?" lily teased earning a playful eye roll from the girl. she always asked naomi this question. it was like tradition.

and she always responded with, "one year closer to being able to date andrew garfield."

dior picked up a box of donuts she had set on naomi's desk and brought them over to her bed. she always had gotten her donuts on her birthday.

she thanked her sister and grabbed a strawberry donut out of the box and began to eat it as she reached over to grab her phone. 

"so i know you don't really want to do anything today but i still got a cake." dior explained while turning on naomi's tv.

"that's fine." the girl smiled. she saw lily and dior exchange some kind of silent look but she didn't try to read into it. 

dior scrolled on netflix until finding spider-man and turning it on for her sister and lily. "i gotta go pick up the cake. i'll be back later." she said before wishing the girl another happy birthday and leaving.

naomi looked on her phone to see no texts from nick. she could have sworn she told him what day was her birthday. but it didn't matter. she didn't care who texted her happy birthday.

"you okay mimi?" lily said nudging the girl snapping her out of thought. she nodded smiling, "yeah! sorry i just got lost in my thoughts."

"well after we eat do you wanna go shopping for your birthday outfit?" lily asked taking a sip of her iced coffee that was covered in so much caramel it was like diabetes in a cup.

naomi nodded. 

today was going to be a good day.

walker walked around the store with aryan looking for naomi's birthday gift. maybe it was a smidge last minute. but lily had only told them a week ahead of time it was naomi's birthday and she wanted them all to come down and help through a surprise party. 

so walker dragged the older teen to the mall with him to help pick a gift out.

"how about this?" aryan said holding up a pink alligator stuffed animal.

"no dude." walker sighed shaking his head. "i gotta find something good. that holds value."

"should i be offended?"

they continued to walk around the stores. aryan suggesting a stuffed animal every time. 

the blonde headed boy stopped at a jewelry stand and saw a silver chain link necklace with names engraved on them.

"what'd you find- oh wow that's nice." aryan spoke looking at the necklace walker had picked up.

"do you think she'll like it?" he asked nervously. the older boy nodded and said she had been talking about getting a new piece of jewelry. "yeah definitely."

he went ahead and paid for it and they headed out of the store since they were already on a time crunch.  

"you gonna tell naomi you like her?" aryan asked.

"i don't like her, besides isn't she with that nick guy." he stated lightly rolling his eyes. he would be lying if he said he wasn't a little salty ever since she posted nick on her instagram.

and maybe he did like her. but he knew they had only known each other for a month and a half. he needed to chill. no normal person would fall head over heels for a girl like he did. 

"who knows, besides i've got a good catch for these things. i don't think there going to stay together. if they even are together." aryan shrugged as they walked to the front of the mall.

walker looked at him incredulously. "have you seen the guy?"

"still,  you guys probably have more in common." he reasoned.

he shook his head. "i don't want to date her anyways." 

 "don't lie to yourself!" aryan shouted as walker walked away from him heading to the car.

naomi stood in her mirror once more staring at the black dress they had picked out at the mall today. it was a pretty silk material that look stunning on her. she loved it. it was like it was meant for her, there was only one left and they grabbed it up real quick. 

for some reason lily wouldn't let naomi leave her room as they got ready. but she hadn't bothered and this was normal lily behavior. 

"can i please go downstairs? i just want food." naomi spoke as she walked away from the mirror sitting down on her bed watching youtube on the tv.

"no!" lily shouted before apologizing, "oops, but no gimme like two seconds." she said and she ran out the door thudding down the stairs.

naomi sighed sitting there on her bed. she had expected at least one person to text her happy birthday. she was never the picky type about things like that. but it did make her feel a little sad.

even nick didn't text her happy birthday. and yeah they had only hung out a couple of times, but he had even asked when her birthday was!

she scrolled through her phone looking at tik tok's. naomi stumbled open one of walker making her let out a small laugh. he looked like adam sandler with the outfit.

her door slammed open showing lily who looked out of breathe and had, confetti in her hair? 

"you good?" naomi laughed. 

"yeah, come on let's go downstairs." lily said brushing her hair down and heading to the stairs with naomi following. 

soon as they got to the bottom of the stairs lily made the girl wait there and she ran off to go do something. she said something about a turtle?

"come on now!" lily shouted. 

naomi walked out and into the kitchen and all the sudden the lights flashed on and a group of people popped out.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!"

naomi felt a large smile present it's self on her face. she looked and saw lily and dior, along with leena, charlie, leah, aryan, walker, and nick. 

"im such a great friend." lily said proudly as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"how did you all manage to get here?" naomi asked as she gave everyone a hug. 

"told the school we had the flu." leena shrugged. "there really dumb." 

naomi giggled as she walked over to nick wrapping her arms around his neck for a hug. she felt eyes burning into the back of her head so she turned around but didn't see anyone looking at her. 

"i thought you forgot." she said sheepishly. nick shook his head. "no way, but that one over there made me swear not to say anything." he explained as he pointed to lily.

"it's called the element of surprise." the girl said while shoving a oreo in her mouth.

naomi smiled. she had all of her friends around her on her birthday. she was in for a good night.

for the remainder of the night they had played board games; watched some movies, and they were about to play mario kart.

"i'm going to kick all of your asses." naomi stated. as they all loaded into the game. 

"i don't even know how to play." sighed leah trying to figure out the controls. lily reached over trying to help the girl. 

"we all know i'm going to win." walker said proudly. that was the first thing he actually spoke without stuttering words out ever since naomi hugged him.

"i haven't played in forever." nick admitted. "hopefully i don't suck too bad."

"don't take it personal if you lose." walker started. "not all of us can be good, can we?" he finished tilting his head.

"let's just start the game." charlie spoke looking in between the two guys having a stare down. 

everyone nodded as the started the game.

turns out walker was right.

he came in first.

nick came in dead last.

"oh well it's just a silly game." leah said. she had been confused the entire game and was surprised she didn't place last.

"ooh let's do presents!!" lily exclaimed. everyone reached over and placed there presents in front of the birthday girl.

"thank you guys!" naomi smiled looking at the boxes and bags around her. she really never had enjoyed a birthday so much.

"open mine first." spoke dior pointing to the red box. naomi reached over for it giving it a little shake as she held it. she unwrapped it to find a new vivienne westwood deep red handbag. 

"oh my god i love it!" naomi exclaimed admiring the bag. dior smirked saying how she had held onto it since october knowing she would love it.

next she opened leah's which was a pair of sunglasses and a new perfume. leena got her a lana del rey vinyl which naomi very much freaked out over. charlie got her a neon sign with her name on it. lily got her a bag full of candy, new makeup and three cd's for her cd player. and aryan got her a bunny jellycat, and now all she had left was walker and nick.

"open mine first." nick smiled handing her a large oddly shaped box. naomi agreed and widened her eyes when she realized the weight of the box almost dropping it in her lap.

"what in the world is this?" she laughed as she opened it up. soon as the birthday girl opened it her jaw dropped in shock seeing as it was a skateboard. "oh my god! you got me a skateboard?!" 

naomi reached over and gave nick a huge hug. she could feel a pair of eyes burning into the back of her head again but when she let go she didn't see anyone looking at her. 

"i remembered when you saw people downtown riding and you said you wanted to learn so i thought i'd get you one." he smirked proud of his gift.

"well i love it." she smiled leaning over and quickly kissing his cheek.

she turned to walker who's knuckles turned white gripping onto the gaming controller. 

"you okay walk?" 

"i'm fine." he said flatly.

aryan smacked him upside the head motioning for him to give naomi the necklace.

"oh yes walker's gift and then cake!" spoke lily as she ran away to the kitchen.

"i didn't have time to get you anything sorry." he muttered.

naomi slowly nodded confused at his mood change, "that's okay."

"come on losers cake time!" lily shouted from the kitchen, everyone scrambled out to avoid the awkwardness. 

as walker went to follow he felt a hand yank him back he turned and saw leah frowning at him. 

"what?"

" we all know you got her something, don't be a chicken, your better than nick mister." leah scolded pointing her finger at him.

"dude-"

"don't dude me scobell. just do what's right." leah huffed before walking away.

"this cake is so good." charlie said as cake flew out of his mouth. 

naomi cringed tossing him a napkin.

"come on man my moms gonna be pissed if you leave a mess." dior groaned leaning against the counter.

"oh shoot i gotta go." nick said looking at his phone. "it's my mom, she said she needs me." 

"oh okay, want me to walk you out?" naomi asked setting down her plate.

"sure." he smiled as they walked towards the door.

soon as they were out of sight the group of teens ran to watch them through the window besides dior who was cleaning up charlie's mess.

"what do you think there saying?" aryan asked as he continued to eat cake dropping crumbs all over the floor.

"gross dude." walker cringed.

"holy shiitake mushrooms!!!!" lily screeched as she saw nick lean in to kiss the girl.

walker cussed under his breathe as he shoved past all of the teens and swung open the front door making naomi and nick jump away from each other.

"ready for another game of mario kart mimi? oh sorry nick, i hope i didn't interrupt anything." he said smirking at nick who eyed the boy.

"fuck yeah." aryan whispered to charlie inside.

"i was just leaving, bye naomi." nick said giving her a quick hug before hopping in the car pulling out of the driveway.

"what the hell was that for?!" naomi exclaimed looking at the boy who was leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed.

"i'll be waiting." he said ignoring her comment and walking inside.

"hell yeah." leena and leah whispered fist bumping each other.
