twenty one, dear jamie

๐ŸŒŸ i don't remember who i was before you....
๐œ๐ก๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ twenty one, dear jamie

august second. twenty twenty six. her birthday. her seventeenth birthday to be exact. she woke up with a smile on her face as her friends had surprised her in bed. she couldn't be happier.

she was happier then ever.

she wish she could explain it but she felt like nothing could ruin her day. her sister was with here, margo was there. and ever megan. she was happy.

jamison was happy.

that's why we say dear jamie.

dear jamie,

thank you.

sincerely, no one.

yet at the same time we don't say that anymore. because truthfully that letter would be gone in the trash and thrown in a bin full of fire.

because she was happy.

the girl looked in the mirror as she patted down her yellow dress. it really brought out her eyes. she loved it.

the house was vibrant and radiating with noise. it made her day feel brighter. and nothing could bring it down.

she heard a knock on the door before she faintly told the person to come inside.

" sorry mom couldn't make it" she heard the familiar voice of her sister before jamison turned around to look at her. " it's fine at least your here" jamison told her older sister sweetly.

she wished her mother could have made it. but it's fine. she already got her birthday call from her earlier this morning.

their was always next year they could spend together. and the year after that.

" i cant believe your seventeen" alyanna said as she sat on the end of jamison's bed. " oh calm down it's just a number" jamison told her sister. " and it shows how old you are" alyanna let out with a smile. " which also showcases how old you are" jamison pointed out.

" touchรฉ" alyanna spoke before getting up. " you look really pretty" alyanna told her younger sister.

her only sister.

" thank you" jamison mustered out as she saw her sister leave her room and close the door.

a breath she didn't even know she was holding in let out as she looked at herself in the mirror. a forced smile stretched onto her face before dropping and falling down to a flat line before being picked up again.

another knock was on her door but before she could even say anything another individual walked in.

" you almost ready" malachi asked her. " yeah" she said before getting up and grabbing her phone. " wait your missing something" the boy said looking at her. " what" she asked confused as she saw him look at her up and down.

" where's that bow you keep talking about" he asked her as she pointed to where it had laid. the boy grabbed it before handing it to her. " wear this" he told her. " i cant wear this" she told him. " oh you know what i mean" he told her as the girl put the bow in her hair before turning to look at the boy.

" better" she asked him. " now i don't like the bow" he told her. " literally go fuck your self mal" she told him pushing past the boy as he laughed. " it dosent compliment the outfit at all" he told her following the girl out of her room. she stopped and looked at him up and down.

" your one to talk" she told him before walking away leaving the boys feet planted. " what's that supposed to mean" he asked her. " hey jamie what's that supposed to mean" he yelled out again before running after her.

it's been two hours. two hours of jamison jones marie hearing the laughter of her friends and family all around her. even the blonder scobell had shown up. but it was hard to look at her. she reminded jamison of the boy she was once in love with. but still none of that mattered today because it was her birthday.

until it did.

it's been two hours. two hours of jamison jones marie wondering where the blond was. because even his sister had shown up but he couldn't even bother. he couldn't even bother to show up to her seventeenth birthday which was in the backyard. because maybe he didn't care anymore.

maybe she was invisible to him once again.

she looked over at leena who sat besides her as she tapped her shoulder pulling the girl from a conversation with harper.

" sorry can i speak to leena for a second" jamison asked harper as the older girl nodded her head before walking away to probably bother noah. the girls favorite past time.

" did you ask him" jamison let out. she knew leena went to walkers room earlier. alyanna told her.

" yes" leena let out. this caused jamison's heart to beat faster and faster. " he's not coming jj" leena spoke in almost a whisper.

jamison's heart falling into a line as it stopped beating.

" what" she whispered. " i asked him and he said he didn't think you would want him there" leena told her truthfully.

" but i told him you would he just" leena let out faltering at her last words. " he just what" jamison asked. " he just wants to give you space" leena told her. jamison poked the inside of her cheek with her tongue as she nodded trying to hold back tears.

she wasn't going to cry over some boy. a boy that she wished would have came to her birthday.

" are you okay" leena asked her. jamison nodded. " i'm fine" jamison said before she walked away from the blonde girl.

she wasn't fine. because she should know better by now. they were always a loosing game. even on her birthday when it was supposed to matter the most.

jamison approached where Emilia was standing as she tapped her shoulder. the girl looked at her as charlie stood in front of her. jamison only shook her head no at the girl.

the older girl understanding almost immediately.

because after that day in the rain when jamison went to go see walker and he had left, everything seemed to have changed.

and emilia is the one who jamison had ran to. not her sister. not her mother. not even megan.

her.

" what is going on" charlie asked confused. jamison almost immediately looking at him. " nothing charlie" she told him with a weak smile.

he noticed how her energy shifted. but he didn't realize why.

" hey jamie do you have a lighter or anything for the cake" harper asked approaching the girl. " yeah let me go grab it" jamison told her before walking away from everyone and heading inside.

a quick sigh left her mouth as she walked up the stairs.

as soon as she entered her room she didn't even spot the letter that sat on her bed. how could she?

the girl walked over to her night stand as she pulled out the lighter she used to light candles before she turned around. her eyes just slightly scanned her bed as she saw the letter.

it was peachy colored with her name written in a messy handwriting in the front. she set the lighter down on her bed next to the letter before picking the peach color up and looking at it. she knew who the writing belonged to.

she could tell from a mile away.

because it was him.

walker.

her fingers unwrapped the letter as she looked down at it as she opened up the piece of paper letting the words fall to the ground as she read its contents.

the letter dropped from her hands as it landed on the bed right next to the lighter. she immediately felt frustration leave her body as she left her room and went towards his.

she didn't even bother with knocking she knew he was up. and the movie that played loudly from his room showed that.

she opened the door before closing it right behind her so her yells wouldn't be heard.

" a letter" she asked him loudly. " a fucking letter, really walker" she said finally saying the boys name.

he just stayed quiet soaking in her words. he didn't speak. he knew he didn't have the right to.

" you wrote me a letter and couldn't even show up to my own birthday walker. it's pathetic your pathetic" she yelled at him her face turning red.

he contuine to listen.

" you were my everything once walker and all you did was just make me miserable. i shouldn't be upset anymore about you walker" she told him slightly calming down her voice.

" i don't know why you left me that stupid letter" she cried out. tears now streaming down her face. " i don't know why you couldn't have left me alone" she told him. the boy got up slightly from his position on the bed before walking up to her.

" and you were selfish completely selfish" she told him as he stood in front of her before jamison took a step back from him.

" are you going to say anything" she finally asked him as tears continued to stroll down her face.

she didn't know why she was crying. maybe it was the thought that she didn't think he cared anymore or the way that he's been acting like she didn't exist anymore that broke her on this very day.

her birthday.

" no" he let out.

" and why not" she asked with a puff.

"because i don't deserve to jamie. i hurt you and i never even noticed and i can't take back those two years and i feel like shit" he told her.

now she listened.

" i begged and begged my manger to get me a invite to your movie premiere just so i could see you. just so i could talk to you but when i saw you on that stage i knew it was to late james. because i fucked up. i wasn't there for you when you needed me to be" he told her.

" that night when i kissed you i was going to tell you i was leaving to go film the following day but i didn't and i wish i did. i should have told you instead of you having to find out any other way" he contuined.

" and i didn't show up to your birthday party because i didn't think you would even want me there and i didn't think you would see the letter until later tonight" he told her truthfully.

" what" jamison let out towards the boy.

" of course i would want you there walker even if we don't talk anymore" she told him as she moved her arms around. her tears had stopped and her voice had lowered.

" jamison i'm sorry" he told her.

those three words could have broken her. key word being ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ฆ.

which is why we say dear jamie.

dear jamie,

i'm sorry.

sincerely, walker scobell.

" what" she let out. she wasn't expecting a apology from him especially on her birthday.

" i'm sorry for everything" he told her. " can we please be friends again" he asked her. but it was odd.

the word "friends" not only stung walkers heart but also jamison's.

it hurt them both but they wouldn't realize because they were ๐š๐ฅ๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ a loosing game.

" i'll think about it" she joked with him as a smile appeared on her face. he hasn't seen her smile on a long time.
