²⁰ Midnight Happenings
"Now my beautiful face might be ruined!"
━━━━☆━━━━
☆ NESRIN WAS in transfiguration class when Sirius slipped her the note.
Wait for me outside the fat lady portrait at midnight. Come alone and don't tell anyone.
S
Rin smiled to herself as she read the note.
It had been a few weeks since she and Sirius had started dating in secret.
Yes, she hated the fact that she had to keep secrets from her brother, but there was a thrill in sneaking around with Sirius, trying not to get caught.
She was struggling to keep the secret from her two best friends, and it looked like Lily already suspected something.
She blushed when Sirius winked at her from across the room and received questioning glances from Dorcas and Lily.
She ignored them, focusing back to the Professor's lecture.

Sirius carefully extracted the invisibility cloak from under James' bed, draping it over himself.
He quietly tiptoed out of the room, cringing when the door loudly creaked when he shut it.
He opened the fat lady portrait, smiling when he saw Rin waiting for him.
Though unfortunately for Sirius, he didn't know that the loud creak of the door stirred someone from their sleep.
Remus Lupin was sleeping when a loud sound awoke him.
He sat up in his bed, looking around in confusion when he saw the closed curtains around Sirius' bed.
That was odd because Sirius never closed them so he could easily crawl into any of their beds if he ever had a nightmare.
He walked over to his bed and yanked the drapes apart, frowning when he saw the unoccupied bed.
His frown intensified.
'Calm down, Lupin,' He muttered to himself. 'Maybe Sirius has just gone the bathroom. . . or just went for a snack in the kitchens! He wouldn't get into any trouble.'
But he decided to wait up for Sirius until came back, just in case.
Sirius grinned when Rin looked around confusedly when she saw the portrait door opening, but no figure emerged from behind it.
"Sirius?" She whispered, getting her wand out. "Is that you?"
Sirius couldn't resist having some fun.
He crept up behind her, snakily snaking his arms around her waist, whispering- "Hey Nessie,"
She shrieked, elbowing him in the face.
"Ow," Sirius groaned, finally taking the cloak off of himself. "Why'd you have to do that! Now my beautiful face might be ruined!"
"Oh, just stop being such a drama queen, Sirius!" Rin huffed after getting over the initial shock of Sirius appearing out of nowhere.
She helped him up to his feet and healed his broken nose.
"How did you do that anyway?" She asked. "Appear out of thin air?"
"I nicked James' invisibility cloak." He shrugged.
"James invisibility cloak- JAMES HAS DAD'S INVISIBILITY CLOAK?!"
"Shush! Keep it down, will you? And what do you mean dad's invisibility cloak? James told us he got it in his first year?"
"That's not fair!" Rin pouted, picking up the cloak from the ground. "I just always assumed that the cloak was lost. Why didn't dad give it to me too?! I'll have to owl him about this!"
"Fine, Merlin! Can we go now? We can't be out for too long."
They covered themselves with the cloak and exited the castle through the great wall's entrance.
"Where are we going?" Rin asked, lacing her hand through Sirius' as they walked through the grounds.
"You'll find out soon enough,"
They finally reached a small clearing behind the edge of the forbidden forest, Rin smiled as she saw the quilt laid over it and a basket near it.
"Wait, though," Sirius smiled, taking the cloak off of themselves. "This isn't it. There's more."
He took out his wand and made a sweeping motion with it, muttering an inaudible incantation.
Hundreds of tiny flickering ball of light appeared, floating above them.
"This is perfect!" Rin gasped, reaching to touch a light ball, giggling when it shot out of her reach. "When did you have time to do all of this?"
Sirius shrugged. "I got the blanket and stuff ready this evening when the others thought I was in detention. And the spell for the lights. . . I've been preparing for this date for weeks by now. The spell was quite hard to learn."
"Besides," He said softly, caressing Rin's cheek, resting his forehead against her's. "It was all worth it to see your beautiful smile."
"Merlin, Sirius," Rin turned away to hide her blush. "You're so cheesy sometimes!"
"Only for you, Nessie."
They ate the food that Sirius had bought and drunk their Butterbeer, then lay on their backs, staring the night sky.
"You know, Nessie," Sirius says, staring up at the stars.
"A star was named after me."
"No, Sirius." Rin giggled. "You were named after a star. Stop talking about it. It's starting to get a bit annoying."
"Nessie!" Sirius groaned. "I was trying to sound cool!" He huffed. "Never mind, then. Did you know that I was named after the brightest star in the sky?"
"But," He continues, sitting up and taking Rin's arms in his, planting a soft kiss on the top. "Why do I have to look at the sky for stars when can just. . . look at you?"
Rin groaned, burying her head in his chest. "So goddamn cheesy!"
"Aw, but you love it!"
After a few more hours together, they both snuck back into the castle and went up to their dormitories.
Sirius was positively beaming as he climbed up the stairs.
But unfortunately for him, a worried Remus Lupin was waiting for him, ready to interrogate where he was for this long.

I really hope you liked this chapter!
The next chapter is going to be very short, so I'll be published two chapters together. But after I publish those two, I'll be gone for three weeks to focus on my demigods book.
