CHAPTER FIVE
TOY CAMARO
Harley and Melaina sat in a red '57 Bel Air as they drove to the cemetery. A bouquet of flowers sat in the bag seat as Harley drove the two.
The moment the red head stopped the car the two shared a look before Harley took the bouquet and got out the car with Melaina close behind her.
They walked down the pathway walking past a couple grave stones. Melaina froze when she read the name that they passed by.
JORDAN MAHKENT
1975-2020
FATHER.SON.FRIEND
"Melaina? You okay?" Harley asked as she walked towards the girl who fell behind before her gaze fell on the name she was reading. "Hey, it's not your fault. Come on." Harley assured before linking her arm with hers.
They walked a little further until they came to a pause when they found the stone they were looking for.
HENRY KING JUNIOR
2004-2020
SON.FRIEND
"Okay let's do this." Melaina said before she took out the old and dead flowers from the glass case and dusted the stone.
Harley removed the plastic from the bouquet and put them into the vase.
"Hey Hen. So August finally finished middle school." Harley started with a laugh. "Yep that curly haired little dude who threw up all over your toy camaro is starting freshman year at surprise Blue Valley High." Harley continued.
"Yeah when Hestia and August saw each other they did that handshake we did when we were like seven. I don't even remember when we taught them that." Melaina said as she choked up at the end.
"We moved here and for the first time in a while my dad and mom are talking like an actual couple." The black haired girl turned to the red head with a concerned look, they never really liked talking about her dad. "Yeah his boss kind of well disappeared and he's been allowed to come home for awhile."
"We miss you." Melaina said as she wiped a tear away.
Harley put her arm over her friends shoulder and pulled her into a side hug.
After a couple more minutes, the two began to walk back to her car. As Melaina passed by the grave of the late Mahkent she noticed something that she didn't before.
There were fresh flowers. She hadn't put any flowers there in weeks, mainly because Josie had been up her ass for a while and she didn't want to give her any more reasons not to trust her.
"Melaina, come on." Harley called for the girl as she walked back to her.
"There are fresh flowers." The curly haired girl said as she stared at them.
"Yeah, maybe one of his colleagues put them here." Harley assured.
"They didn't. The Blue Valley florist has a very specific nursery where she grows her flowers to sell. I've seen it myself." The girl began before pointing at the flowers on the grave. "Those are not from that Nursery."
"But that means, he's back." Harley pointed out making Melaina huff.
"Yeah and that probably means things are about to get ten times worse." Melaina said before pulling Harley away.

An hour later Melaina sat with Harley, Daisy, Martina and her two cousins in the back yard on a picnic blanket. Snacks in the centre and the teenagers around them.
They had been sharing laughs and stories since Harley and Melaina got home.
The girl hoped that Josie would join her so that she could talk to her about the day before but when she came home her mother had told her that the brunette had gone to do something with Courtney.
"Ugh our mothers want us to go 'sightseeing" Daisy huffed referring to Martina as well.
"We will give you a call later, maybe we could meet at Richies for dinner?" Martina suggested as she helped Daisy stand up.
"That sounds great. See you both later." Melaina said with a small smile as the two came and hugged her from behind before leaving.
"I actually have to go too." Harley told the girl.
"No! Please don't, I don't wanna be stuck with them." The curly haired girl whispered the last bit.
"Shut up you love us." Wylan yelled at the girl.
"You'll be fine I'll see you later." Harley assured before leaving the same direction the two did earlier.
"So what crazy things can you do in Blue Valley?" Willow asked the girl.
"Ooo is there a lake here? We could go for a swim and you could finally learn how to swim like an Atlantean." Wylan suggested making his sister nod her head in excitement.
"Firstly no one swims in that lake—" Melaina started.
"We should be the first. Dude you can breathe under water and we could teach you how to swim the Atlantean way.." Willow insisted enthusiastically.
Before Melaina could object the trios grandmother approached them. "Hello my beautiful grand babies." Atlanta greeted as she sat down beside them. "So Hippolyta and I were thinking that we could teach you three a few tricks."
"Do you mean training? Again? Because last time we had bruises." Wylan said.
"You and Hippolyta senior managed to make decision without fighting?" Willow asked with a small smile and a hint of sarcasm.
"The war was centuries ago and besides we have a mutual interest. So that's why we think that we should do some training with you two and your cousin. What do you say?" Atlanta suggested with a smile.
"Fine but no bruising!"
✦✧✦✧
A couple minutes later the said trio along with Atlanna, Hippolyta and Hestia were all in the backyard with wooden staffs. Diana and Eddie had gone out with Lyta to look at colleges.
"So my dear you don't seem to know the fundamentals of battle. So my in law and I thought we'd teach you some lessons." Hippolyta started as she walked up and down in front of the four who stood in a row.
"Warning we're not going to go easy on you, your parents began their training as young as 3 years old probably even younger. So Melaina, Tia this will be very new for you but you'll learn quickly, almost like the days you spent with Hippolyta in Themysciria. So always be alert." As Atlanna said that Hippolyta cird around them and the moment Atlanna finished Hippolyta swung her stick right under Tia's legs making her fall onto her back.
The other three spread out with their sticks raised as Tia got back into her feet.
Atlanna went for Melaina who blocked her attack before she swung again at her head and blocked it but before she could block the queens attack she felt her self being swung onto her back.
"Ow!"
"Sorry your grams made me do it." Willow responded as she pointed her stick at her neck.
But before the tanned girl could make another move, Melaina swung her legs under Willows making her fall into her back. She flipped herself back onto her feet and continued to fight.
She ran for Wylan who blocked most of her attacks as she swung again he blocked it but he left one spot open which Melaina used to her advantage.
She kicked him in the stomach and used her stick to flip him onto his back.
She walked back as she saw her two grandmothers begin to circle her.
Hippolyta began to charge at her with a very determined face and a speed she wasn't prepared for, she tried her best to dodge the woman's attacks.
She noticed a pattern and managed to block a couple attacks before hearing the fast pace of her Atlantean grandmother run up to her.
They came at both sides, Willow, Hestia and Wylan watched in awe. They didn't think she'd be this good.
She blocked from both sides up until this point where one knee was on the ground and her other leg bent. Melaina held her stick with both hands as she pushed it up as hard as she could while the two older women pushed their sticks on hers to get her onto the ground.
They were much stronger than her and she knew that but if she wanted to prove herself to them she'd have to push herself.
She closed her eye and took a deep breath and tighten her grip on the stick. When she opened her eyes her grandmothers noticed something. Her right eye was blue and her left eye was a golden colour and her hands were both glowing the same colour that her eyes were.
The moment they were distracted with the proud smile on their faces Melaina pushed herself onto her feet quickly kicked Hippolyta onto the ground, grabbed her stick and turned to Atlanna. She was fast enough to dodge her attacks and quickly kicked the stick breaking it into two, the impact of the kick made Atlanna fall onto the ground.
The woman looked at the two pieces of wood while her granddaughter pointed one of the sticks at her neck and the other at Hippolyta's.
The three who had been watching began to clap with pride while the women on the ground nodded at her to put the sticks down.
"Great job dear." Hippolyta praised as she stood up.
"Now let's do it again." Atlanna added making the teenagers smiles turn to frowns.
"When you all can get us onto the ground then we can stop. This time no sticks." Hippolyta told the four who groaned before putting the sticks down.
"It's gonna be a long day." Hestia whined as she got into a fighting stance.
"Yep." The other three agreed as they did the same.
While the group of friends had been spread across the town, some more than others the swirling smoke of a teleportation spell appeared on the roof of the American Dream building a warlock formed from the smoke.
He took a deep breath as his eyes turned from the dark blue of the smoke to his normal hazel colour.
"Yep he's already here." The boy said before taking out his phone and looked for a name before tapping on the name Martina Mavros, he pressed call and pulled the phone to his ear.
"Come on Marty pick up."
Something dark was in Blue Valley and things were only about to get much worse.
