✴︎ intimate moments by chocolatemeimei

Sunlight shone through the cracks of the blinds in the bedroom, its golden glow softly cascading down onto Gyuvin's unsuspecting sleeping face. The light forced a groan out of him as he buried himself further into the crook of Yenting's neck to avoid its harsh glare. He was never a morning person, especially not when his lifestyle consisted of clubbing every other night and getting wasted to the point where he forgets his own name.
What joy could his mornings ever bring, except from feelings of regret and an agonizing hangover?
Stirring awake at the movements of the other shifting about in his arms, a smile slowly made its way across Yenting's face as he pulled Gyuvin closer, his hand resting tenderly atop the dip in Gyuvin's waist as though the space was made for him only.
Unfortunately, the faint ringing of someone's alarm pulled the two from their comfortable sleep, with Yenting lazily reaching over to the bedside table to switch it off - although, he wasn't entirely sure whose phone it was coming from.
"Who sets an alarm on a weekend..." Gyuvin mumbled into the other's skin, the vibration of his voice against Yenting's shoulder ticklish. In response, he felt the latter laughing lightly into the top of his hair, mindlessly tapping rhythms on his arm. "... Shit, don't tell me you've got a lecture to go to right now?"
"Okay - I won't," Yenting chuckled, tilting Gyuvin's chin upwards before giving him a soft kiss, the latter chasing after his lips once he pulled away. Then, he untangled his body from Gyuvin's as he sat up, supressing a yawn whilst he stretched.
Moments later, he climbed out from underneath the covers and stood up, fishing the rest of his clothes from off of the floor.
When they had drunkenly stumbled in here the night before, full of hungry kisses and wandering hands, it appeared as though Gyuvin had been more impatient than Yenting initially remembered - the evidence being his jeans which were found in a crumpled pile by the bathroom door, and his top which had been flung to the opposite side of the room (and it was unsurprisingly stretched out too, because someone didn't know how to be gentle when tugging it over his head).
From where he lay, Gyuvin watched as Yenting quickly threw on the same clothes that he had eagerly ripped off him mere hours ago, his eyes falling to the intricate sword tattoo that Yenting had on his ribs as it disappeared under his black t-shirt. Once finished, he moved towards his desk as if on a mission, grabbing his lighter and a pack of Marlboro Reds.
Cracking open the bottom window slightly, Yenting leaned against the ledge as he lit one of the cigarettes, balancing it delicately between his fingers as he drew it close his lips, flicking the spent ashes into the street below after exhaling.
Eventually, Gyuvin got up too, picking up his discarded pair of jeans from the feet of Yenting's desk chair before putting them on. At the sound of him shuffling around, Yenting turned to look back, his eyes softening when they found Gyuvin.
"Take a picture; it might last longer," Gyuvin joked, holding up his sweatshirt in triumph after discovering it hanging off the backboard of the bed.
"Oh, believe me - I already have plenty to keep my imagination satisfied," Yenting laughed, puffing out another cloud of smoke and then waving it away with his hand, wary of the smoke detectors that were fitted into every student's room. He returned his gaze back outside, observing the flow of people back and forth between the building's gate and the dormitory's front entrance.
"At least I didn't throw up this time," Gyuvin replied, searching for the location of his phone before spotting it hidden amongst the cluttered mess on top of the bedside table next to Yenting's. "Still have a killer headache, though. I don't suppose you have any of those hangover cures from the last time I came over?"
"No, but I do have this," Yenting offered him the cigarette, holding it out for him to take. "Works wonders."
Much to his disbelief, Gyuvin accepted it gingerly into his hands which causes a sound of shock to escape Yenting's mouth. However, instead of smoking it, he stubbed out the embers on the unused ash tray that sat on the desk, sending Yenting's previous expression of surprise into one of annoyance as he scoffed.
"That was my last one..." Yenting muttered, brushing past Gyuvin as he crushed the empty paperboard pack in his hand, depositing it into the trash with a tired sigh.
"Hopefully forever..." Gyuvin sighed, massaging his temples as Yenting continued to flit about the room. "They'll kill you before you're 40 if you keep going."
"Oh, you know what they say - old habits die hard," Yenting shot him a smirk over his shoulder as he crouched down to pick something up.
"Yeah, well it looks like you are the one who's going to die first at this rate," Gyuvin whispered under his breath, sulking at the lack of attention.
"Wow, someone's mouthy this morning."
"Just making up for how 'mouthy' you were last night-"
To shut him up, Yenting chucked Gyuvin's socks at him, which he caught effortlessly. The pair shared a brief knowing glance before Yenting rolled his eyes and carried on tidying the rest of his room.
Gyuvin followed him close behind, his hands naturally finding their way to Yenting's waist as he tugged him towards his body, peppering kisses along the side of his neck. "And how soon can I expect to see you again?"
"Well, I can't remember if I told you about the internship..." Yenting felt his voice trailing off as Gyuvin's kisses grew more heated; but ultimately he came to his senses, resisting the urge to take things further. "... The one in Taipei. I'll be gone for three months in the summer, but probably after that. Think you can hold out for that long?"
"... You're really not coming to Jeju?" There was a look of genuine disappointment plastered on Gyuvin's face as he pulled away, a confused Yenting turning around wondering why he had suddenly stopped. "I thought you might since... Never mind. Next semester it is. And don't worry about me, I'm sure I'll find many other ways to keep myself entertained until you are back."
Although he was attempting to keep the playful atmosphere going, Yenting could immediately tell that Gyuvin had become strangely withdrawn from their conversation as though the former had said something to offend him.
"... If you say so," Yenting nodded in acknowledgment, unsure if he should press Gyuvin further on his sudden switch in mood.
Checking the time on his phone, the realisation sunk in that he had maybe 10 or so minutes to make it to his class - normally, being late isn't an issue to Yenting, however this particular professor was an absolute pain in the ass to anyone who walked in even a couple of seconds after his lecture was scheduled to start.
"Fuck... I don't have any time to get changed, let alone take a shower," Yenting complained, quickly running a hand through his hair to ensure that it wasn't too messy. He then grabbed a cologne off his desk, spraying it in hopes to cover up the smell of alcohol and cigarette smoke. "I blame that red headed friend of yours for making me take those shots with him. Totally wiped me out. And I'm sorry I can't make you anything to eat before I go. But there should be a packet of ramen somewhere in one of the drawers. Oh! And I think it's Teumsae! Your favourite."
"So you're just abandoning me then?" Gyuvin laughed, expertly disguising his hurt within the usual banter that ensued between the two following their one night stands.
"You can take care of yourself, can't you?" Yenting reached out to cup Gyuvin's face, softly stroking his thumb against his cheek as the latter instantly sunk into his touch. "Don't miss me too much."
With that, Yenting made a beeline for the door because he knew if he stayed any longer, he would be tempted to give in to the feelings of desire he had in his chest that grew with every passing look that Gyuvin gave him.
Before he left, Gyuvin decided to ask a question that had been weighing on his mind ever since they started this arrangement of theirs. A question that Yenting wished he never heard.
"Yenting... What are we?"
A deafening silence followed, so loud that all he could hear was his own shallow breathing.
"... I'll see you after the summer. And don't bother with door once you're done here - it locks automatically when closed, but you know that already... Um, anyways. Bye."
The door shut behind him, Yenting practically itching to escape the awkwardness that he knew he would have to deal with at a later date.
'Please don't give your heart to me, Gyuvin.'
He slipped through the gap in the elevator doors and settled into a space amongst the group of students inside.
'My hands were not made to hold it.'
