Chapter 4, and Dhara presents you with another rant.

So, this rant is something that angers me.

My friend Diana ( DianaLovesTSwizzle ) takes tennis coaching.

One day, she overheard a couple of parents laughing about the fact that so many people were having, because, "Oh, the population of the country is so huge, it's a good thing that people are dying, at least we'll get the population under control."

I mean, WTF?

How can people say that?

When Diana texted me this, I said, "What?

Are those people insane?

People dying is a big deal.

Huge deal."

( I used a bit of language, but I removed that. )

Diana: I know!

Me: huh

Those people are unbelievably horrible! What I want to do is-

Diana: throat punch them?

Me: I want to march up to them and say, So, yeah. If you or any of your family members die, I'll come to your funeral and make a speech about how it is a piece of good news that you died because the country is so populous, it doesn't even matter! You were such bitchy nobodies, and it's good that you died.

I want to say that if this is the thought process of the people, then this society is screwed.

Because, just today, I came to know that one of my IRL friends lost her grandmother.

And I've known that friend since I was 6, and I just felt that the World is going through hell, and COVID's ruined everyone's life.

Of the many things I despise, this is on top of the list.

And then there's the fact that my country is a kakistocracy.

There's no oxygen, no hospital beds, no facilities.

People are selling vaccinations and oxygen cylinders in the black market, and making money from other people's sorrows, and even cheating them.

A vaccine that is legally available for approximately INR 50, 000 is sold illegally for INR 1,500,000

And the authorities?

To put it frankly, there useless.

People donated millions and millions of rupees to the leaders, and that money, the hard work of the citizens, is splurged in advertisements and political rallies.

I mean, bloody hell.

The most commonly used word by me is Kakistocracy, which means a country run by incompetent and the least qualified people.

The situation is terrible, and the number of deaths that are occurring is rising by the day.

And nothing is being done about this problem, on the part of the concerned authorities.

People are roaming around, mask less, without a care in the World.

Yesterday, my mother passed by the market near our house.

And she was SHOCKED.

The parking lots were jam-packed, cars stood on the road, and people crowded the shops, buying the most unnecessary things.

And the so-called leaders are doing nothing.

Isn't it meant to be For the People, By the People, Of the People?

What is the point of being a democratic nation, when the elected representatives are good-for-nothing nincompoops? Isn't it their job to lead the country responsibly and ensure that the people are safe? Isn't their job to do something, anything about the way this virus has been spreading?

Only the schools and offices are closed.

What, I ask you, is the whole point of the Government splurging money on campaigns? I'm 110% sure that they know it's WRONG but are still doing it.

Why?

The reason is that they care only about themselves.

People are dying on a momentary basis, the hospitals have no beds or facilities, and our Prime Minister is distributing the limited supplies that we have to other countries, just so that our country has a name?

Let's face it, people.

He should be focusing on the health of the people of his own country, not the wellness of those in other countries! People are dying due to the lack of oxygen, the lack of hospital beds.

No one ever thought that the day would come when they wouldn't be able to attend the funerals of their family members, the very same family they loved and cherished.

Kids will grow up without their parents or grandparents, doctors and nurses are stuck at work 24/7, constantly crushed with the fear of what would happen to their family if they passed?

I once saw an eccentric individual, at a place I went to last year.

He was standing without a mask, in a crowd of people, and, thinking of himself as such a wise, learned person, preaching to them about why they SHOULDN'T wear a mask!

I wanted to gag, and march up to that guy and knock some sense into his head.

He thought of himself as a king-

And I can't even put more than half my thoughts into words.

So many people don't care! I mean, COVIDs messed with all of us, it taught us the expect the unexpected, but people are just disregarding it.

And I hate that.

Why can't they take the mandatory precautions?

Because of those people, who don't take precautions, this disease is spreading.

The second strain is out, and the scientists predict that the third strain is going to be coming out soon.

Why?

Because of the people.

Don't ask me to elaborate, I made it clear a paragraph ago, I believe.

Not only is the government at fault, but the people as well. The amount of times the government has done something good and told them to wear a mask and take necessary precautions? Many times, but a lot of the population doesn't give a damn.

It's all a joke to them.

I think I should end this now before I say something else, but I'd like to request you all to please, please take the precautions and stay safe.

Please.
