P O V I R E N E

I arrive at school with Wendy and Joy. They are my best friends, I've known them since elementary. We are now in high school, and heading to our first block class when Wendy notices something.

Wendy - "Do y'all see that?" She exclaimed as we turned our head towards the way she's pointing.

Joy - "WOAH!" She screams out loud as how mouth drops.

What we seen was a fight. It was between Y/N and two girls. Y/N was on the ground as the two girls were stepping on her. I was very concerned.

Irene - "We have to do something!" I say as I run towards the fight. Me and Joy try to break it up as Wendy stood recording.

We broke the fight up and grabbed Y/N and headed her towards the nurse. It seemed like she was knocked out cold.

Joy - "Irene, you think she is okay?" She asked me as I shook my head no.

I didn't know if she was okay or not, or if she was even alive. She was beat up pretty bad. There are scars all over her face, arms, and legs. She also has a black eye. I wish we got there sooner, she wouldn't look like this. We made it to the nurse's office, and dropped her off. Joy left because she needed to make her volleyball practice. I stayed because I wanted to know if Y/N was okay and what happened.

Nurse - "Irene, Y/N is conscious. You may see her." She told me smiling. I went and opened the door. Y/N was wide awake and sitting straight up, looking outside the window.

Irene - "Y/N?" I spoke softly trying not startle her. She slowly turned to face towards me, her facial expressions showed me she was a little scared. I slowly went up to her and held my hand out.

Irene - "It's me, Irene, I'm not going to hurt you." I spoke calmly as she stared at my hand for a while. She eventually placed her hand on top of mine.

Irene - "May I sit here?" I asked pointing next to her. She nodded and I sat down. I decided to start caressing her hand to make her feel comfortable around me. I sat there doing that for five minutes, until I decided to speak again.

Irene - "Y/N, do you mind if I ask why did they jump you?" I asked softly still caressing her hand. She turned to look at me. Her face looks so pale and weak, like she's fighting to survive. It is wrapped up in bandages with splotches of blood on them. She was beat up badly.

Y/N - "Um.." she stopped and took a breather. "They've been bullying me for a while." She told me and I was stunned. 'Why do they bully her?' I thought and soon my question was answered. "They bully me because I'm less fortunate than others."

Irene - "That's not a good reason." I told her. "Just because you can't afford the luxuries they can doesn't mean you should be punished."

Y/N - "Yea, but I still do anyways." She told me sadly.

Irene - "But, why did they bruise you up so badly? Why didn't anyone help?" I asked her.

Y/N - "Because, someone told them I slept with one of there boyfriends for food. It's not true, I tried to tell them that but they didn't believe me and this happened." She told me as she grabbed my hand tighter. I didn't know what to say, I just couldn't believe someone would bully someone over a stupid reason.

Y/N - "The reason nobody helped is because, I am a nobody. So why would people even care.." I heard the sorrow in her voice and I felt so bad for her.

Irene - "Y/N, I'm so sorry." I told her and I got up. She looked at me with puppy eyes. I went and stood in front of her, made her stand up, and gave her a hug. A surprised expression was made on her face. I felt her head lay on my shoulder and I just deepened the hug. We pulled away and I sat her back down on the bed. She looked up and horror was written on her face.

Y/N - "I'm so sorry. I got blood on your blouse." She told me as I looked down and seen the red spot. "It's okay, I can wash it out." I told her reassuring her.

Irene - "Hey, Y/N, do you remember my name?" I asked her. "No, but I remember you saying it. Is it Ireh?" She asked and I shook my head no. "It's Irene". I said cheerfully as her jaw dropped.

Y/N - "Your Irene?" She asked me stunned. I'm well known around here so I get this often. I nodded and she began to smile.

Y/N - "I heard good things about you. People said your nice, beautiful, and very respectful. They are right." She told me and I smiled. "I always wanted to meet you, and I admire you." I was smiling even brighter now. I've never had someone admire me before so this is a first.

"Thank you." I said blushing. Y/N began to giggle as she tried to stand up but fell back onto her bed. "Woah, easy Y/N your still hurting and sore." I told her as the door began to open revealing the nurse and Wendy.

Nurse - "You have a visitor, also you guys have to leave in five minutes as Y/N needs to be checked out again." We nodded as she left and closed the door again.

Wendy - "I've been looking everywhere for you, oh hey Y/N!" Wendy told me as she greeted Y/N. "We have a game today for volleyball. We have to go support Joy!" She told me excited as I turned to look at Y/N.

Y/N - "Do you guys mind if I come with? I've never been to a game." She asked us as I was still concerned because she just got jumped.

Irene - "Are you sure you'll be okay?" I asked her and she nodded. "All I need is crutches she told me and rest. When does the game start?" She asked us.

Wendy - "Six P.M." "Okay I'll be there." Y/N told us as I gathered my belongings and got ready to leave. "Oh Irene!" She said loudly as I turned to face her. "Thanks for treating me like a human."
