Acceptance/Rejection (2)

"There are innocent people being treated like criminals." Jessica states.

"I'm told they were fighting," Bolan says.

"Is that a fucking reason to have a gun pulled on you?!" Mia snaps.

"Of course not." Mr. Bolan says.

"That's bullshit!" Jessica says. "And it's not just them, it's all of us!"

The students agree together.

"Presumed guilty? No charge? No due process?" Jessica questions.

"All right, people. Folks!" Bolan claps his hands, trying to quiet everyone down.

"Hey, please. The situation is being addressed. Let's get back to class." Mr. Bolan advises.

The students begin to speak, not agreeing with his decision. Jessica looks at everyone. "No!" She defies.

"Do not make matters worse." Mr. Bolan says. "get back to class."

Clay, Mia, and Jessica exchange a look. Clay steps forward, "No. We're not going back to class." He speaks up.

Mr. Bolan sighs, "Clay, I promise you we will get into this." Bolan states. "Diego's being released, the officer will be disciplined if appropriate--"

"IF?!" Mia shouts, standing beside Clay.

"--And we will address the situation according to--"

"Fuck that! Enough is enough!" Jessica steps forward as well. She looks at Justin.

Justin smirks, "Fucking Right." He stands beside Jessica.

"All right, I understand your point without all the inappropriate language." Bolan tries to calm the students down.

Mia and Clay look one another, reading each other's minds. "Fuck you, motherfucker." They both say at the same time.

"We're together on this." Clay adds.

"Everyone get back to class right now, or there will be consequences," Bolan warns.

Jessica shrugs, "Bring it on." She looks at Alex. "We're not afraid."

Alex looks right back at her, but he pushes through the crowd and leaves. "We're finally doing something." Clay states.

"Doing what, exactly?" Bolan questions.

Mia and Clay look at each other then at Jessica. Mia turns her head to the exit and smirks. She looks at Bolan and gives him a cheeky smile, she spins on her heel and walks through the crowd. Clay chuckles, Mia never ceases to amaze him. He follows her, Mia and Clay stop walking and wait for Jessica.

"Hey. Turn around." Bolan orders.

Jessica walks beside them. "No, Turn around! The three of..." Bolan stops talking as he sees all the kids follow behind the three students.

"What do you think you're doing?!" He calls out.

Tyler turns back around to Bolan. "I believe it's a walkout, sir." He states, before walking outside.

Mia inhales, she quickly turns and sees Jessica and Clay walking behind her. "What?" She asks.

"What do we do next?" Clay asks.

Mia's jaw goes slack, "What...? I don't...I don't have a plan!" She hisses. "You two got me fired up." She turns and points between them. "You know how I get when I'm fired up." She sighs.

"Well, we were following you," Jessica says with Clay nodding.

Mia slumps her shoulders. "Well, shit." She sighs.

Justin quickly walks out of the school with the students behind him. "Hey, you guys gotta figure something out, because, I mean, everyone..." He points at the crowd.

"Yeah, it's, uh...it's kind of a thing." Tony states.

Mia opens and closes her mouth. "What...I don't...uh..." she drags her words out.

Gwen looks at them, "Well?" She holds her arms out.

Mia blinks at the girl, "Well what?" She asks.

"I say let's break some fucking heads!" Brett announces.

Mia nods in agreement. Gwen shakes her head, "No, Mia." She scoffs.

"Or we could use our heads, cut the power to the school, maybe light some shit on fire," Cyrus announces.

Mia nods her head, Gwen arches a brow and Mia quickly shakes her head again. "Nope, not a good idea, right..." She raises her eyebrows.

Ani walks through the crowd, "Let's hear what our president has to say." Ani holds the megaphone out towards Jessica.

"Shit, I thought you took off," Jessica says.

"Had to make a stop at the cave." Ani states. "Go!" She smiles.

Jessica accepts the megaphone, she looks at Clay and Mia. They both shrug. She places the megaphone in front of her mouth. "Hey, everyone!" She calls out. "There's a lot we can disagree on, but I know we can agree on one thing." Jessica looks at all of them.

"We're pissed off, am I right?!"

Everyone agrees. "Cause shit has got to changer around here, so let's make damn sure it does today. You guys with me?" Jessica questions.

"YEAH!"

"We need a fucking chant!" Someone shouts.

Mia arches a brow, "What?" She asks.

"Hey-hey, ho-ho, SROs have got to go!" Ani calls out.

"Hey-hey, ho-ho, SROs have got to go!" Everyone starts to chant.

All the students continue to chant and follow Jessica, Clay, and Mia. They walk off campus and stand across from the school. Mr. Bolan and Foundry finally exit the school and stand in front of the kids.

Clay, Mia, and Jessica walk forward and stand in front of them. "We're asking for the removal of all SROs on this campus and all security measures." Jessica states.

"That means no more cameras, no more metal detectors, no more Stop the Bleed demos, and no more drills!" Clay adds.

"We want out school back!" Mia says.

"It's more complicated than that." Foundry looks at the short-haired brunette. "We're complying with state laws."

"Laws designed to help these kids stay safe," Bolan adds.

Jessica looks at Mia and Clay. "Then the laws are bad, and you should break them." Jessica states.

"When the videos from today hit the internet, you want the world to know you did nothing?"

"I mean, I guess we have their answer," Clay states, staring at the officers with shields, barricading the entrance to the school.

"Jesus, how do Bolan and Foundry expect us to go back  inside with all of that there?" Mia asks, folding her arms.

"They don't want us to go back inside anymore." Jessica states. "They want us out here."

"This is the Evergreen County Sheriff's Department." An officer announces on his microphone. "You have two minutes to vacate the premises or you will be forcibly removed. Two Minutes!"

"Look, I mean, I'm...I'm ready for a fight, but, Jess, Mia, they have guns, and we've got nothing," Clay says to the two girls.

Mia and Jessica look at each other. "That's not entirely true." Jessica states. "They've trained us for this moment."

"What's the plan?" Mia asks.

Jessica starts to explain the plan to them. After she's done explaining the plan, it travels around the students. "Time's up!" The officer says. He steps away from his car and walks over to Foundry and Bolan, getting confirmation from them.

"Officers, please proceed." The officer announces.

The officers step forward and start to beat their nightstick against their shields. "STAND YOUR GROUND!" Jessica says into the megaphone.

As the officers get closer. Mia finds her hand in Clay's.

"NOW!"

Everyone starts to throw their school items at the officers. Some students get closer to the officers and shove them. Mia quickly runs out of things in her bag and she sighs. The one day she doesn't bring most of her books to school.

Out of nowhere, Estela is grabbed by an officer and pulled behind the shields. "I'm out of ammo! What do we do?" Ani asks.

Jessica looks at Ani then she looks at Mia. "We fight, come on!" Jessica says.

Mia smiles, "Don't have to tell me twice!" She runs forward and slams her body against one of the shields. "Shit!" She growls, in pain. She didn't think that would hurt as bad did.

Justin's eyes widen and he runs over to Jessica. "Jess! Jess! Hey, hey, hey! Come on, you can't get arrested, you know that!" He pulls over away. "You have to protect yourself, Jess!"

"You gave up on yourself, Justin. I don't care anymore!" She shoves him away from her.

Jessica joins Mia in pushing the officer's back. "Hey, fuck you!" Jessica growls.

"Jess, don't!" Justin calls out.

She spits on the officer's helmet. He hits her in the stomach. Jessica falls to the ground. Mia's eyes widen. "Son of a--" The officers grab Jessica and Mia and pull them behind the shields.

"FUCK YOU!" Mia screams as she thrashes around. "SUCK MY DICK!"

Mia is thrown to the ground and she gasps for air. She quickly stands up and kicks the officer in the crotch. She quickly helps Jessica up. Ani runs over and helps Jessica get away from the officers. Mia feels arms wrap around her, she turns tries to shove the officer back.

Gwen quickly runs over to the girl and kicks the officer in the shin and shoves him to the ground. Mia looks at Gwen. "Let's go!" Gwen grabs Mia's arm and they run away from the chaos. Mia's eyes widen as she sees the fire in the car. "WAIT, GWEN DON'T--"

The car explodes sending Mia and Gwen flying to the ground. The brunette coughs loudly and inhales deeply. She touches her stomach, the brunette's eyes widen she quickly sits up and ignores the pain in her head.

"Gwen?" Mia crawls over to her friend. "Gwen, get up!" She turns her over.

Gwen coughs and inhales, "Holy Shit!" She exclaims.

Mia hangs her head low, "Don't...don't scare me like that..." She chuckles softly.

"Aw, Mia Walker cares about me...my life is complete."

"Clay, you've told me a number of times that I'm one of the only people in your life that you can be completely honest with right now." Dr. Ellman states. "Is that still true?"

Clay blinks, "Um...totally, yeah." He nods.

"Principal Bolan reached out to me." Dr. Ellman says. He picks up his iPad. "Before he decides on discipline, he wanted to know about your progress." Dr. Ellman looks down at the screen of the tablet. "Your state of mind. I can speak to him in a limited way about our work...if you give me permission."

Clay just looks at Dr. Ellman still confused. Dr. Ellman holds the iPad out to Clay.

"He showed me this."

Clay grabs the iPad and looks at the video of him lighting a piece of paper on fire and throwing it in the car. Clay pulls his brows together, "What the hell?" He whispers.

"If you tell me you don't remember that, if you look me in the eye...and tell me, I'll believe you." Dr. Ellman states.

Clay looks up at Dr. Ellman, his eyes wide. "I don't remember...at all." He says.

"Then we have a problem here." Dr. Ellman says.

A flood of memories go through Clay's mind as he remembers everything. Everything he was worried about, it was him that caused it. He caused worry for his friends. Clay couldn't find words.

"I think you've been keeping secrets from everyone, from me, and most damaging, from yourself," Ellman states.

"Yes." clay whispers.

"Are you ready to let those secrets out?" Dr. Ellman asks.

"Yes."
