ㅡ chapter twelve .

' two familiar souls. '

"ugh i can't think of any plot for this chapter... fuck i should've made a chapter plan."

"whatchu' doin'?"

taehyung looked beside him and saw jeongguk gazing down his phone, sitting on the arm rest with his arm on the back rest to support his weight.

taehyung can see that the position he's in is uncomfortable so he guided him on his lap by his waist, shocking the male as he straddled him.

jeongguk swallowed a big lump in his throat and tries his best to ignore the fact he's on someone's lap.

he have never, in his life sat on someone's lap. even his parents'. he was just not the kind of kid who likes being placed on a person's lap.

well, not until he's on taehyung's.

"i'm trynna write a chapter but i can't think of anything."

a few days passed since the seven of them made up and promised that they'll never treat each other wrong again and weekend came so namjoon thought that it's the time to get to know each other.

right now, they're in jeongguk's house, chilling in his medium sized room.

his walls are plain greyish yellow while the ceiling is white, an led light that is taped up from each top corner, lighting up the room with purple. he has a studying corner at a corner of the room just right beside his bed.

his tv that seems big for everyone that has a ps4 connected to it. a bathroom that has a tub, a shower and a big closet inside it. and a bookshelf that has books and a few cd's organized and a fluffy-like chair where they can sit on and read a book.

(^ i just sketched this out and i'm so proud that the result came out just as i expected. <3)

jeongguk sighed and leaned against the male, nuzzling his head against the crook of taehyung's neck, his hair lightly brushing against the male's neck bringing a tickling sensation with his arms around him.

taehyung brought his arm around jeongguk's waist and brought his other one on the arm rest and settled his head on the male.

this bubbly and warm feeling inside his body makes him sleepy and just want to cuddle with jeongguk. it satisfies him with how perfect the male fits in his arms.

taehyung placed his phone on the arm rest and finally brought his free arm around jeongguk, feeling the male slightly squirm on his lap only to press closer against him.

"how come they are that close before the rest of us?"

"they got along before us. duh."

"seriously if i were that close with one of y'all, i wouldn't dare to cuddle with you guys. unless you're yoongi or hoseok."

"yeah same here."

"me too."

"well me too but only if you're namjoon."

taehyung chuckled at the others talking while they watch a movie called 'happy death day' but he has watched it a lot of times because it's too funny not to watch it over and over.

jeongguk grumbled, feeling his face and his ears get warmer and turned his head at the television.

(spoiler for a part of the movie- if you haven't watched it yet.)

right when the murderer was about to stab the girl who began to scream. jeongguk flinched and squeezed taehyung until the scene switched to the same girl with her eyes widened on the bed, breathing heavily, looking like she had a fun night.

because she did.

and she just has woken up from a so-called nightmare.

taehyung smiled right when jeongguk squeezed him. suddenly, he has this feeling that he needs to protect the younger and keep him happy no matter what happens.

even if it includes him getting hurt.

it feels like their souls have met years ago for them to be as comfortable as they are to each other right now.

out of the blue, his bedroom door slowly opened and a head peeked in.

"dad? what's up?" jeongguk softly unwrapped taehyung's arms around him and approached his father, leaving a sulking taehyung on the chair.

jin could tell that his father needs all of their attention due to his eyes looking at each of them so he paused the movie.

jeongguk's father widened the space and gave his son seven tickets in which jeongguk took with a curious look.

"my friends and i bought the tickets a few weeks ago for a fair but right when the week came we're all free, something immediately came up. a business suddenly was held at a different country so we gotta go there and we all know that it's gonna take as long as the last one."

"so what you're saying is-"

"yup. you guys can have it. don't worry, there's an amusement park that will be open in a few months and we're already determined to buy the tickets for it. you guys better go now before it expires because that ticket has a 50 percent sale for every food stalls and games."

jeongguk giggled in delight and hugged his dad causing his father to laugh and hug back. his father pulled away and ruffled his hair before leaving them be and closed the door.

"guys! can we go to the fair now? please?" jeongguk pleaded with his big doe eyes as he slightly hops on his position. the others obviously agreed as they talk about what they can do in the fair.

"do we have to go back home and change-"

"nah you guys already look good in your clothes that you're wearing right now. especially you, taehyung, so shut up and we need to get going." the said male just giggled as he stood up with the others. jin turned off the television and with that, they walked out with jeongguk following from behind after checking if they left something.

"so, where exactly is this fair?" hoseok asked delightly, the smile on his face is enough to express that he's really excited. jeongguk was about to go ask his dad and right when he turned around to do it, taehyung quickly snaked his arm around his waist and pulled him back as jeongguk lets out an 'eep'.

"i know where it is. we can go use my car." taehyung smiled at jeongguk, his pout is on display causing him to snicker.

"my cutie bunnie!"

"shut up. i'm no one's bunny." jeongguk left them waiting by the sofa just to inform his dad that they'll be going now as he grumbles, leaving the others with a fond smile while taehyung has a mischevious one.

"AND I'M NOT A BUNNY!"

"whatever you say." taehyung playfully rolled his eyes, keeping his smirk on display. hoseok smiled, his mind wandering towards the point where they're all best friends, teasing each other here and there, playing pranks on each other.

"have a soft spot on gguk?"

"... gguk?"

yoongi nodded with his lips slightly pouted, if you know that look. "well... it's his nickname." he and namjoon got tired of calling jeongguk by his actual name since it's too long so they decided on gguk instead.

and jeongguk couldn't agree more.

taehyung smiled at yoongi's question, his stuck on the floor with his hand supporting his weight on the back rest of the couch. "maybe? yeah... no? ... i'm not sure to be honest."

"mmm. it's alright if you're unsure. you just got along anyway."

"why were you asking that?"

"well-"

"guys! we can go now." jeongguk got back with a few money peeking in his back pocket with the same hand gripping the tickets tightly, the same giddy expression is still on his face.

taehyung knew how oblivious he can be, even if the given money is stolen or not, he wouldn't notice unless someone mentions it.

when jeongguk walked pass him, he swiftly took the money from his back pocket and tried to carefully grab his wallet at the other one only to put the spare money in it.

taehyung closed the main door and slipped the wallet back in his pocket, patting his butt softly receiving jeongguk's attention and looked down his back pocket.

"oh- thanks, taehyung." jeongguk smiled widely and ran towards shotgun seat before even others can. he laughed when he heard hoseok, jin, and jimin complain and whine yet he ignored them.

taehyung got in the driver seat as everyone else took their seat at the back, yoongi, hoseok, and jimin at the front, and namjoon and jin at the back.

jeongguk grabbed his wallet, slightly lifting himself up on his seat to have easy access whilst doing it and sat back down once he got it.

he puts the tickets in his wallet, in case he forgets to get it in the car and placed his wallet in the cupholder before buckling his seatbelt as taehyung began to drive.

"the roadtrip's gonna take like... almost an hour to get there so feel free to take a nap." taehyung announced receiving hums and okay's. he decided to roll down his window only to settle his elbow on the door, steering the wheel with one hand as he enjoys the breeze.

jeongguk noticed that the cold wind was a strong one and closed the ac, taehyung taking the hint and rolled down all of the windows since they're just driving down the town.

after a few minutes has passed, everyone fell asleep. taehyung took a glance at the rear mirror and immediately, a smile took over his face.

he has been dreaming and hoping that something like this comes true with his friends that will surely stay with him for who he is and accept his flaws.

and after years of waiting, it finally happened. hoping that these guys are the right people that are destined to be his friends.

he was humming to a song until he heard a voice beside him mumble out his name. "mmm... taehyung..." jeongguk stirred in his nap, cuddling up in a ball facing the other. the mentioned male took exactly 4 seconds to gaze at him before quickly bringing his attention at the road with a smile.

"wonder what he's dreaming about."

finally, they reached their destination.

taehyung took the key out of the key hole and unlocked all of the doors after rolling the windows back up. "yo, we're here. get your asses up." he said as he gets out of the car, closing the door gently.

one by one, everyone walked out of the car, while still inside, they had a tired look until they got a good look of the fair fueling up their excitement.

taehyung realized jeongguk's zoning out in the car and shook his head gently. he opened the door and unbuckled his seatbelt before bringing his hand on his jaw, caressing his cheek with his thumb as jeongguk leaned against his touch, humming in satisfaction.

"we're here, idiot. are you still asleep?"

"mmm no... 'f course not."

"hm. your droopy eyes doesn't quite explain it."

jeongguk grumbled when taehyung brought his arms around him and carefully took him out of the car and made sure that he's standing before taking his wallet from the cupholder, closing the door shut and clicked a button on his key causing the car let out a beep, signalling that it's locked.

"alright. let's go." taehyung took the tickets out of jeongguk's wallet and slipped it in his back pocket before ruffling his hair to wake him up more.

jeongguk widened his eyes when he saw the pirate ship ride he really loves and immediately became hype, squealing everytime the pirate ship gets higher and higher.

after going through the entrance and giving the worker there the entrance tickets that is connected to each ticket while the other half is for the food stalls and games, they began to talk what to do first while the others are too busy looking around in awe.

(some of the rides mentioned here are from the youtube video i found that's from florida state fair. after watching it, now i wanna go there but i can't. :'))

"alright so there's a pirate ship, a haunted house, an asylum rollercoaster, a cliff hanger, an inflated ship, and a ferris wheel."

"can we split into groups?"

they all got quiet until they began to cling onto the person they wanna be with.

"i want jin!" namjoon grabbed the said male by his shoulder and pressed against him receiving a complain from jin.

"yoongi and hoseok!"

"jimin and yoongi!"

both jimin and hoseok clung onto yoongi as they bursted into laughters when yoongi cursed at them for scaring him.

"i want my bunny!" taehyung intertwined his hands with his, squeezing it afterward and placed his head on his shoulder. jeongguk giggled and squeezed his hand, feeling a weird emotion rushing through his body, yet he can't quite tell what it is because he's new to it.

"then let's get going with our partners. we'll meet up here at the same spot once we're all tired."

it's so nice to see them getting along, isn't it?

well, we don't know if something or someone will ruin the friendship between them or nothing bad will actually happen. ;)

edit: i actually wrote this chapter weeks ago and i feel bad for not updating this book yet so here you go.
