"morning, yamayama-kun!"

"tobio," he corrected, but his words fell on deaf ears. erena smiled as she pressed the buttons on the vending machine and a carton of strawberry milk tumbled out.

"how has senior school been?" erena asked, leaning against the wall next to the vending machine.

kageyama shrugged. "same as usual, as in terrible. the only thing that keeps me going to school is volleyball."

the only thing keeping me from dropping out is you, erena thought, then she blushed furiously. kageyama blinked. "you alright, erena-san?"

"y-yeah."

they stood there, sipping their own cartons of milk. not wanting to make it awkward, erena spoke up. "this is what, our fifth time meeting here?"

"fourth, dumbass," kageyama corrected her again.

"wow, we're such milk addicts," she said, ignoring his jibe. "by the way, i noticed each time you get plain milk. don't tell me you actually like that stuff."

kageyama glowered. "plain milk is the best, moron."

erena scoffed playfully. "ew. the flavouring is so good, without it, milk's are so...plain."

"that's what makes it good."

"whatever you say, yamayama-kun," she said, unconvinced. "i'll never drink plain milk."

kageyama contemplated this. then he said thoughtfully, "how about next time i get you to try plain milk, and i try strawberry milk?"

"deal," erena grinned happily. she crumpled her carton and chucked it into a nearby bin. "see you tomorrow, 'kay?"

"yeah," kageyama watched as she skipped off into the distance, slightly dazed by the grin. "see you tomorrow."
