Melting Ice,
Scalding lies.
Burning cries,
Fading smiles.

A world,
Not so nice.
Torn apart,
Right at the seams.
Falling, breaking,
No one feels,
The pain lurking within.

All grey and bland,
So black and white.
Tainted smiles,
Seething scars,
A world all too dark.

Watch as we might,
Ignore as we'd like.
Hopes for a beam of light,
Shattered in the darkest of nights.

Surreal fears,
Twisted ears.
A mighty fate,
Acceptance in tears.

Shells of masks,
Strewn all around.
A fixed frown,
Silent tears unheard.

Wait as we must,
For dawn to spill.
Up and above a horizon of dust,
And banish the everlasting chill.
