Here is my entry for battle I of Starlight, which is a graphic war hosted by AngeBlancRose. We were prompted to create an album cover for Colors by Halsey. We weren't allowed any face claims but we were allowed vectors. Here's the original version of what I made:

Here is my explanation of why I made what I made:

When I first saw the album cover title would be colours, it gave me flashbacks to a song that my senior choir sang a couple years ago. We sang "True Colours" and I wanted to use that song as inspiration for this album cover. As you can see, the background is broken up into three parts - colourful, black and white, and then colourful again. I chose to make this as if a person shows their true colours when young and innocent and as they grow older, they being to lose themself and their colours (hence why the black and white in the middle). However, the colours are still there (represented by the title) but it's just that it is hidden. When they finally discover themself, they shine their true colours once again. I wanted to make the background part happy which is why I included the butterflies and free-flowing lines to represent the happiness and freedom.
