Normandy Caterpillar's POV

The sirens flashed red and blue against the shadows of Ever After High, a cop car parked out at the school's entrance. Normandy watched through the window, seeing that two police officers were escorting Headmaster Grimm out. The old man was cuffed, they had arrested them.

"Oh my Spell, they're actually taking him to jail," Hadie gasped, next to Normandy.

"Bet he'll see Jace and Carmelo there. They'll give him hell."

"Hope so," Hadie snorted. Suddenly, the Liddell and Chess cousins burst into the Student Lounge, out of breath as if they had just ran there. "We already saw Grimm getting escorted out," she replied.

"It's crazy," Bea confirmed, shaking her head in disbelief.

Normandy squinted at Alex. "Dude, why are you holding flowers?"

He went bright pink and immediately hid the bouquet of roses behind his back just as Bea explained, "I bought them for my lovely cousin because we had a family day out. Liddells and all, you know?" she explained and Alex exhaled a sigh of relief. "Hey, where's Adelaide, Tilly, and Cadien?"

"I'm right here." Cadien appeared out of thin air, his signature grin plastered on his face. Normandy yelped, startled, nearly tripping on her own feet. "Haha," he laughed at her while Hadie helped her up. "Who's the scaredy-cat now?"

"Shut up, you bastard."

Ruby glanced around. "We're missing Adelaide and Tilly." Suddenly, everyone's phones buzzed, a notification from the Topsy-Turvy Groupchat had gone off. A message from Matilda, what perfect timing.

MH(@teacups&tilly): OMG, I'M TALKING TO DETECTIVE JACK BENSON RN! He says they're considering reopening Claudia's case now that they know that Grimm was trying to blackmail Pois. I'll catch you up with all the gossip later, xoxo.

"T-They're reopening her case?" Bea gasped, stunned. Alex let out a shout of joy while Bianca sighed in relief. Normandy was overwhelmed with gratitude; finally, it seemed like the police were taking Claudia Hatter's death seriously. "Wait, so are they blaming Grimm?"

"Who cares? That old asshat deserved it," Cadien said. "Finally, a new chapter to the story."

The Weaver's POV

I didn't need to look outside to know that Grimm was counting his last days. Finally, justice would be served and my favour to Adelaide would be finished. I opened the door to my dorm, slipping out to the hall. Today was a good day, I was in a better mood than I had been in years. I had done a lot of things, but shedding light on Claudia's case made me feel... better about myself in a strange sense.

I didn't stop walking until I reached Adelaide's dorm. I knew she'd kill me for showing my faceโ€”we had an argument earlier about the tip I had given the cops. It wasn't exactly my fault, Carmelo looked like a pretty guilty guy with all the facts considered. As an apology, I sent the video footage of Grimm and Bryony Pois in the classroom. Though, it wasn't enough.

It was time to stop hiding behind the screen, I had to apologize to Adelaide once and for all.

"Adelaide, c'mon, open up." I knocked again on the door, but there was no answer. Weird.

"Are you here for Addie too?" a soft voice came behind me. I turned around, coming face-to-face with Bianca White. I had seen her from afar, but not up close. Sleek blond hair ran down her shoulders, her pale skin just as frosted as her lips. "My friends and I have been trying to find her too," she explained.

"Oh, yeah. I guess I'll just catch Adelaide later, she isn't here."

"How do you know her?" she asked suspiciously. I sort of understood where Bianca was coming from, Adelaide Hearts wasn't exactly the person to seek out new friends. I casually leaned against the wall, smiling to not alert her.

"Oh, just from one of my classes, Chemythstry I think. I was going to ask her for answers."

"Cheating is dishonourable," she said.

"You're so boring, Bianca." I turned away, making my way to the other end of the hall. Maybe one day I would work up the guts to meet her in-person properly and confess. That day wasn't today.

"Wait!" Bianca caught up with me. "How do you know my name?"

"Just from around," I said, the lie slipping from my mouth easily.

"No, but you said... 'You're so boring.' And the only person who texted me was..." She glanced up at me, the realization dawning on her. I guess that day would have arrived sooner than I thought. "The Weaver."

I could have denied it, but I didn't.

"Oh, so now you play coy? Not very clever, Bianca."

"You're the Weaver," Bianca repeated, dumbfounded. "You're my online friend."

"So? Congrats, you've finished the hunt for me." I continued my stroll, humming along to an old tune. Bianca caught up with me again, trying to match my stride. I guess I wasn't what she expected, but what else did she expect? I was blond-haired, fair-skinned, and my nose wasn't that crooked. "Are you just going to keep following me like a stalker?"

"No, but I'm just shocked!" she exclaimed. "Why didn't you want to meet up?"

The lies weren't hard to spit out. "Sick day."

"Butโ€”" Bianca stopped herself. "Okay, okay, but oh my Grimm!" She gave me a huge bear hug, which was ironic because she was the shortest person I had even seen. Okay, that was a lie, my dad was a dwarf. "I can't believe you're actually, like, here. We can talk in-person now!"

It was sort of adorable and morbid that Bianca was just too damn naive for her own good.

"I need to go." That was a half-lie, but I felt too awkward in this scenario. I had gotten so used to communicating with others online, I had forgotten actual human interaction. Plus, I didn't need Bianca on my conscious.

Not with everything going on. She was a weakness.

So let yourself be weak, you goddamn fool, Adelaide had told me once.

"Oh, right, sorry!" Bianca released, slightly embarrassed. She had rosy cheeks and a toothy smile, just like someone I knew; Dad. He would have a field day. "Wait, wait, before you go, I don't want to keep calling you the Weaver. It's sort of odd, no?"

My golden eyes softened. "Rhys, that's my name. Rhys Stiltskin."

Ruby Red's POV

"You're not subtle," she told Beatrice once they had reached the rooftop. Bea kept harassing Ruby to go to the roof for "something" and it was pissing her off. The wind made Ruby shiver as Bea squinted in the dark. "Are you going to tell me what you brought me up here?"

"Shush," she hissed as she cupped her hands, "Lexi, get your ass out here!" Bea smiled serenely, her hand on the door handle. She leaned closer to Ruby's ears. "Remember what I said, if you break Alex's heart, I will pull yours out of your chest and stomp all over it until there's my footprints on your heart." Okay, like that wasn't creepy or scary at all. "Have fun, kiddos!"

Then Bea slammed the door, startling Ruby. That was so weird, she thought as she turned around. Alex was just standing there, muttering to himself. Sounded like he was giving himself a pep-talk. "Alex?"

"Oh, right, hey." He was holding a bundle of red roses, but when Alex walked toward, he accidentally dropped them, scattering each flower. "Oh shit, for Grimm's sakeโ€”" He stooped to the ground, trying to pick them up. Help him out, poor guy is too nervous, Ruby thought. She plucked the flowers from the floor, her fingers brushing against Alex's hand. "I'm terribly sorry, Ruby, I pictured this confession would go much better than the last."

"So you admit it's a confession?"

Alex's face went bright red and Ruby was slightly amused. Yeah, he was so laidback and nonchalant sometimes, but he could be such a worrywart when it came to other feelings. "Well, if you must know," she said, gathering the last of the roses. They both stood up and Ruby handed back the remaining fallen roses. She smiled softly, letting her 'tough act' fall for a split second. "I've been hinting at it for a while now."

"So I've heard from Bea," he said, laughing. "Guess I've been a bit too oblivious for my own good." Then they just stood there awkwardly, averting each other's eyes. The silence was painstakingly quiet, and so was the tension in the air.

Then it just happened.

Their lips both met, the vapour of cold air disappearing. Ruby cupped Alex's face as she closed her eyes. This is what it feels like. Momentarily, all of Ruby's thoughts vanished and everything in her mind was bliss. It felt like she was living in a movie she had watched before. Her heart was racing so fast that Ruby was sure she was having heart palpitations.

Alex broke away a bit, a shy smile growing on his face. Ruby covered her mouth to stifle a laugh. The night hadn't gone the way neither of them planned for it to, but she glad it resulted with a happily ever after. "Guess I'll have to thank Bea later."

"Best wingwoman in the history of Book End."

Alex leaned in for another kiss, but it was cut off abruptly by a blood-curdling scream. Ruby jumped, startled, and looked around. "What... You heard that, right?" she asked, glancing around. The scream had sounded so far away and close to them at the same thing. Her head pounded as realization struck her. "Below us," she blurted out, "the scream came from below us."

"But that means..." Alex rushed over to the rooftop's ledge, looking down. The colour drained from his face as Ruby hurried over. She glanced down, gasping in horror as she saw it was in the school's Courtyard. No, not again, Ruby thought, squeezing her eyes shut. Not another death, oh my Grimm.

A dead body laid in the grass below them.

A/N: I'm SO sorry for that terribly-written kiss scene between Ruby and Alex, I just don't know how to write romantic scenes at all, so my apologies! But yay, they finally confess, it's about time...

Guess who's dead, you'll find out in the next chapter,
