CALIFORNIA HAD BEEN DYLAN HARGROVE'S HOME FOR THE LONGEST TIME UNTIL SHE'S FORCED OUT OF HER COMFORT AND PLCED SOMEWHERE ELSE. a small, hick town that she didn't belong in full of people who would only want to use her. dylan's shitty father wanted a "fresh start" for his "new job" after her mother died, and she's stuck with him. she figured in the long run that meant a quieter place with less eyes on the hargrove-mayfield family. it's not so easy when the two eldest are treated like god's gifts with their stunning smiles and model-like features, a treatment dylan doesn't even want. not if it's shared with her half-brother.

THE LIFE DYLAN REALLY WANTS FEELS SO OUT OF REACH. she aches for the mysteries she reads about, a powerful love without violence, a chance to start over her life, but it doesn't seem like it was there. her older half-brother, billy, won't let her seize that chance. he wants dylan silent, obedient, like he has almost pinned their stepsister max to be. she refuses.

AND WHAT BETTER WAY FOR DYLAN HARGROVE TO PISS OFF HER BROTHER THAN TO BE A MAGNET? she's soon attracting the opposites of her new world - befriending his enemies, saving the world, and falling in love with another without hurting them.
