Chapter Two
"Nice frisbee, Flamer," Patrick taunted, picking up Stanley's yarmulke.
Stanley went to reach for it, but was too slow. "Give it back," He shouted.
Patrick shook his head and stood up. A second later he threw the Jewish hat into a school bus passing by. Bethany knew there was no way in hell they were gonna get that back.
Another one of the infamous bullies walked up and let out a grotesque burp into Eddie's face. The poor kid wafted away the smell and stumbled backwards.
Henry's gang of monkeys started to walk away but not before Bowers stopped to look at Bethany. "How you doing sweet cheeks?"
Bethany backed away and shook her head. She knew not to speak unless she wanted something bad to happen. She felt hands grab onto her arms and pull her even father back. She whipped her head around and saw Richie holding onto her.
"I knew you were still afraid of me," Henry laughed. The tormentors were finally starting to leave, and Bethany felt her heart rate start again.
They were almost gone when Bill called out, "You s-s-suck Bowers!"
"Shut up Bill," Eddie whispered, not wanted anymore attention on the group.
However Henry and his baboons heard it and stopped in their tracks; their leader turned around and started walking toward Bethany's brother, "You s-s-say something B-B-Billy?"
Billy didn't answer as he stared daggers into the older kid. Henry continued to speak and take a step closer with each word, "You got a free ride this year because of your little brother. Rides over Denbrough."
Henry was practically in Bill's face when he finished his statement. The bully looked ready to punch Bill any second; Bethany's breathing increased at the situation. She was about to have an anxiety attack and she could feel it.
The world started to spin and her vision started to cloud. She tried to focus on her brother. She saw Henry mumbled something to Bill, lick his hand, and smear it across Bill's face.
He then walked away, leaving the kids alone.
Bethany was swaying back and forth, her breaths rapid and getting harder and harder to make. Richie noticed it and stood in front of the girl. "Hey Doll Face, look at me you're okay," he stated.
The girl blinked a few times focusing on Richie's features. He started to take deep breaths and Beth copied his motions. Soon enough the brunette was breathing normally again.
"Thanks Tozier," Bethany breathed, her heart leaping in her chest at how close he was. She could kiss him if she wanted to; not that she did. They were just friends, or could they be more? Bethany shook the thought from her mind.
"No problem Hottie," Richie winked.
And he was back, Bethany gave him a hard shove and rolled her eyes. The rest of the losers club was staring at Henry and the monkeys as they climbed into their vehicle.
"Wish he would go missing," Richie stated, walking back into the group.
Eddie let out a sigh, "He's probably the one doing it."
Bethany watched as the bullies drove away, "God I hate that son of a bitch."
"You can say that again Doll Face," Richie laughed. Bethany once again rolled her eyes and started to walk away. Bill followed her.
They left their group of friends and set off towards their home. Bill was rehearsing his usual speech sentences in order to help with his stuttering. Bethany was nodding along to his words, listening intently so her brother would get it down.
They were walking side by side with their somewhat matching bikes. Bill's was silver and Bethany's was gold. They each carved those words into their bikes giving it the name. She liked that they matched but didn't at the same time, it showed they were close but not the same.
"Shit," Bill cursed, after not getting it down. Bethany let out a sigh and placed a hand on his shoulder, "You will get it big bro. I know it."
Bill didn't reply as the two walked up the driveway. They could hear their father in the garage, working on another project. The twins entered to workshop and placed their bikes down.
Their father stopped working on the wooden post and spun around in his chair. Bethany gave a smile, "Need some help?"
"I thought we agreed," Her father spoke. Bethany gave a confused look, but apparently her dad was talking to Bill. Bethany's brother frowned as he looked to some yellow pipes. He had made another map of where Georgie could have ended up.
Bethany never was apart of Bills models, because she didn't see the point. However she always did help Bill look for their lost brother, even if it was the last thing she wanted to do.
"Before you say anything, just let me s-s-s-show you something first," Bill stated as he walked over to the pipes and picked up a little green toy. He placed it in the pipe and started running water. A second later the toy figure fell into a box labeled The Barrens.
Beth watched with sad eyes as Bill spoke again, "The Barrens i-it's the only place t-t-that Georgie could have ended up."
"He's gone Bill," Bethany's dad stated, sadness showing in his tired features.
The older Denbrough child shook his head, "But if the storm swept G-G-Georgie we should have gone..."
"He's gone! He's dead! He's dead! There is nothing we can do, nothing! Now take this down before your mother sees it," their father barked.
Bethany flinched at the screaming. She started to count to ten in her head, trying to regulate her breathing.
Bill didn't respond and the twins' dad ripped a map off of the wall, "Next time
you want to take something from my office, ask." And with that statement he left.
"I guess you get your tunnels back," Bill stated sadly to the hamster. Bethany's face fell as she walked over to her brother.
"Why did you make that where he could see it?" She asked.
Bill looked to the ground, "Because I wanted to prove we could find him."
Beth's heart broke a little, "Bill. You know I will always help you look for him, but this needs to stop. All you're doing is making them upset."
Her brother only nodded her head. "Look I'm gonna go on a bike ride. I need to clear my head. I'll be back later," Beth stated, walking out of the garage.
"Okay please be s-safe," Bill called out.
Bethany nodded and grabbed her bike. A split second later she was riding down the road, her mind racing with thoughts.
