Chapter One
Present Day: May, 1989
One year. It's been one year since Georgie went missing. One year of the Denbroughs falling apart. One year of Bethany crying herself to sleep almost every night and constantly waking up from night terrors of what could have happened to her little brother.
However she had accepted he was gone, most likely dead. It broke her heart to think that, but after the police came to her house that night, Beth had developed severe anxiety. At first it was minor and it only came from Henry Bowers' torment.
Henry had always bullied Bethany and her friends. But being the only girl in the group of losers, Henry has set his sights on getting her no matter what he had to do. But he hadn't touched her or Bill since Georgie vanished.
You would think Bethany would be grateful. But her anxiety went full term and ended up with her parents sending the girl to therapy, once she found out her brother was missing. No one else in her family went but Beth; they didn't see the point. However only one good thing came out of seeing someone: she was able to let Georgie go.
Bethany was racing her mind with all of these thoughts. As well as the thought of her spending her summer relaxing and spending time with her best friends. The bell soon sounded and announced that school was completed for the year.
The girl smiled and grabbed her backpack; rushing out of the class room she yelled with joy. She went dancing through the halls, looking for her brother Bill.
She spotted Bill and the rest of their friends chatting away and turning the corner that leads to the front door of the school.
Trying to follow, Bethany spotted the girl bully of the school march into the bathroom. The brunette couldn't help but follow, wanting to know what was going on.
A pile of wet trash was dumped into a stall, just as Bethany walked in. All of the remaining girls in the bathroom stared at Bethany.
"Seriously Greta? What the fuck are you even doing?" Bethany asked.
No answer came from the bully and she simple stated, "Let's go girls."
Everyone soon cleared from the bathroom, only leaving Beth and whoever else was in the stall. The twin approached the stall and gave a soft knock on the door.
It opened a second later and revealed none other than Beverly Marsh. She was a pretty redhead and was a few inches taller than Bethany. She was covered in wet trash and it tugged at Beth's heart strings.
"Are you okay?" She questioned.
Beverly bit her lip and nodded, "Yeah I'm fine. Thanks for scaring them off."
Bethany could see slight hurt in the girls eyes. However she knew not to over step boundaries, so instead she pulled out her extra dress that she had always kept in her bag.
"I don't know if it will fit, but at least you won't be soaked," Bethany offered.
The redhead smiled and took the clothing, "Thanks."
Beth nodded and smiled herself, "No problem and when you're done changing I recommend going out the back door. That way you won't run into those manikins again. I would stay but I have to go find my brother."
Beverly gave a small laugh and Bethany left the bathroom. She ran out of the school building and instantly spotted Bill and the rest of the club emptying their school bags. She jogged over two the four boys and started to empty her bag as well, "Hey bitches."
"Well if it isn't blowjob," Richie greeted.
Bethany rolled her eyes and punched Richie in the arm, "What the hell have I told you about calling me that!"
Richie rubbed his arms and smirked, "Oh I'm sorry. I meant Doll Face."
Bethany rolled her eyes once more and Richie sent a wink. "Best feeling ever," Stanley exclaimed.
"Try ticking your pickle for the first time," Richie retorted.
A laugh escaped Beth's lips as she finished emptying her things. Eddie completely ignored the inappropriate comment, "What do you guys wanna do this weekend?"
"I'm starting my training," Richie stated proudly, pushing up his glasses.
"What training?" Bethany asked.
Richie faced the girl, "Street Fighter."
"Is that really how you want to spend your summer? Inside of an arcade?" Eddie asked.
Bethany frowned; she was hoping that they would get to hang out this summer. Richie looked at Eddie, "Beats spending it inside of your mother."
The dark haired boy raised his for a high five and Bethany gave it to him. Richie smiled and snatched onto her hand. He gave it a kiss, "You are such a princess."
Bethany snatched her hand away and wiped it on her pants leg, "Gross I'm gonna get aids."
Stanley rolled his eyes and spoke up, "What if we go to the quarry?"
"Guys we have the b-b-barrens," Bill interjected.
Stan lowered his head, "Right."
No one spoke for a few seconds until Eddie broke the silence, "Betty Rippson's mom."
They all turned to face the direction that Eddie was look towards. Sure enough the missing girl's mother was anxiously waiting for her child that would never appear.
"Is she really expecting to see her come out of that school?" Stanley questioned, looking to Bethany for an answer.
"I don't know. They have been saying Betty has been hiding at home for the last few weeks," the girl answered, face falling slightly.
Another question came from Stan, "You think they'll actually find her?"
Beth opened her mouth to answer again but Richie be her to it, "Sure. In a ditch, all decomposed, covered in worms and maggots, smelling like Eddie's mom's underwear."
"Shut up. That's freaking disgusting," Eddie barked. Bill turned to Richie and spoke, "S-s-she's not dead she's m-m-missing."
"Sorry Bill. She's missing," Richie corrected, once again pushing up his glasses. He gave Bethany a look and she walked off, dragging her brother along.
Richie tried to save the situation, "The barrens aren't that bad. Who doesn't love splashing around in shitty water?"
Richie was then pulled backwards and flung to the ground, taking Stanley with him. The twins turned around and saw both Patrick and Henry hovering over the boys. Bethany felt her heart stop as Henry loomed over Richie.
