Chapter 4: The Real Game Begins

Anxiety was eating up Kyunghi. She could not think straight. The voices in her head and the voices outside, mixed together to give her the most excruciating headache. She could feel her stomach churn. She got up running to the washroom catching everyone's attention. Yoona ran after to help her out while everyone else's concerned gaze followed her. The fight about whether the whole situation was real or not had finally come to a halt.

Meanwhile Kyunghi's throat burnt as the food she had came up. Yoona held her hair and caressed her back.

"Are you okay?" Yoona's eyes filled with concern as she examined Kyunghi's wet face after she had washed up.

"Yeah. Just the whole thing outside made me sick." Kyunghi said holding back her tears and the real reason. Yoona wasn't as understanding as Jaeyi. She would get mad and not tolerate it like she did. She knew Yoona wouldn't be wrong but she didn't want everyone knowing. She felt weird about it. She hated that she was the first one to break one of the rules in the group.

"Something is up, isn't it? This is not just fear or anxiety. I need you to tell me what's up. Did something happen?" Yoona wasn't a fool. She knew she was lying. She knew something had happened.

"I am fine. Seriously. You are getting worried over nothing. If something happens and I need your help, then I will come to you."

"Please do come to me. I know that you might not feel like I am emotionally capable of handling situations normally but I am." That made Kyunghi feel even more awful. She felt like a bad friend so she decided to pour her heart out.

"I am pregnant." That caught Yoona off guard. It was definitely something she did not expect.

"What?" She asked with hardly any strength in her voice.

Clearing her throat, she asked again, "Whose child is it? Does he know? Has he done anything about it?"

"He doesn't want the child," The tears she was holding back were finally freely flowing. She recalled the conversation she had with him.

I am not taking responsibility for a slut's child. How am I supposed to know if that's my child?

Those words were now part of her nightmares. She had trusted him and in exchange she had been humiliated. She didn't want the child either but those words stung her like acid had been thrown at her. It embarrassed her how she had trusted him so much like a fool.

"What the fuck Kyunghi? Why didn't you tell us? We could have gone and beaten him up."

"It's one of us." Every time Kyunghi said something, it felt like a bomb had been dropped. Knowing that one for her could be so heartless left a sour taste on her tongue.

"I will kill him." Before Kyunghi could say anything, Yoona dashed towards the door but Kyunghi caught up and held her hand. She did not have enough strength to stop her but her soft hands that hardly had any force were strong enough to radiate the desperation.

"Please Yoona. I did not want to tell you because I knew this would be your reaction. I know that you are not wrong but this is the last thing I want. Please."

Yoona knew that she needed to be there with Kyunghi so she stopped. She didn't want her friend to feel like she shouldn't tell her about what's bothering her. Yoona turned around and held her friend in her arms. Kyunghi had given up on trying to stay strong a long time back but now her cry had gotten louder. She buried her head into Yoona's neck and kept crying.

"What if this is all real? What if I get killed? What will happen to the baby? I was going to abort it but I just couldn't. I just didn't have the mental strength to go through with it. But now what? Now my baby will die a painful death."

"No no. Kyunghi you don't need to worry about that. Even if it's real, we will find a way to get you out of here safely." Her words were just empty assurance and they knew that but it still made Kyunghi's heart feel at ease.

"Will you please tell me who the father is?"

Meanwhile the living room was a mess.

"This happened because of you. Do you see that?" Suho hadn't stopped blaming Yoongi.

Panic washed over Yoongi.

"What? How is Kyunghi's health issues my fault? I didn't do anything."

"Not just that. The whole thing," Suho looked at everyone, "You all keep trying to calm me down but think about it. Who bought us here? Who gave us this game?"

"Ah Reum got the game." Jaeyi said trying to calm him down.

"But how do we know that they are not together in this? We all know about the heart eyes that Yoongi gives her."

Yoongi pushed him, "What is wrong with you? Have you lost your mind? Just because you are angry does not mean that you can say whatever you want. If this is true then we are all in trouble. We should help each other out instead of fighting."

"He is right." Kyunghi was back. Her eyes were visibly red from all the crying but no one dared to question her about it.

"We need to get through this together. Whoever is doing this wants us to go against each other and we can't let them win."

Jungkook stood up and held Suho's shoulder.

"She is right. We don't know what is going to happen so we need to be prepared and we need to help each other out. This fight is just a waste of time. We need to get out of here together."

Everyone agreed and things finally started to calm down.

"Did anyone get anything yet?" Jimin asked keeping his spoon down beside his almost full plate. None of them could eat. The anxiety and fear was too much for them.

"Nope. I think this is just a prank." Taehyung said.

"Well as long as we are, I don't really care about all of this. Let's get some rest. Tomorrow let's leave this place as soon as possible." They all agreed to Jimin and went to their rooms to take a break from this chaos.

"Kyunghi. Wake up." Kyunghi was woken up by Jaeyi. She was aggressively shaking her and calling out her name.

"What happened? Why are you waking me up like this?" Jaeyi looked distressed. Her face pale and contorted in anguish like a crumbled white paper.

"I think someone did their mission. It's bad. Very bad. You need to see it." Seeing Jaeyi like that made Kyunghi nervous. She did not know what had happened but her body felt like it would give up any moment.

They both slowly paced towards the living. As they reached closer, Kyunghi's breathing accelerated, her feet felt numb, she couldn't feel them moving. She couldn't feel herself moving but there she was standing in front of a wall filled with very hurtful words.

"What is this?" Her throat was so dry that her words were unheard. She felt humiliated and betrayed as she stared at the words in front of her in red.

'KYUNGHI IS A FUCKING SLUT WHO IS PREGNANT. GUESS WHO THE BABY DADDY IS? IT'S NONE OTHER THAN YOONGI.'

She cleared her throat and faced the others. Eyes shimmering with pain, heart pounding, hands shivering.

"Do you think it's funny? What is this? What have I ever done to any of you? I have always been nice then why me? Why did you do this to me?" She yelled.

"Kyunghi-" Ah Reum tried to calm her down but it was in vain.

"Only four people here knew about this. Which one of you did it?" She had always been a sweet and caring person. Most things never bothered her. She never held grudges and you will probably never see someone as forgiving as her but today she saw red. She had been betrayed and humiliated again and again and she had enough.

"I know you are angry but this could be anyone's doing. This could have been a mission. If you have mentioned this even once in this place, there's a chance that they might have heard you and given this as a mission to someone." Jungkook said trying to be logical.

"Is it you? Did Jaeyi tell you about this?" The room felt like it was closing in on her, each breath more labored than the last. Her heart pounded in her chest, a relentless drumbeat of fear and longing. Every minute stretched into an eternity, a cruel reminder of her solitude. The weight of the world seemed to press down on her shoulders, making her limbs heavy and her thoughts chaotic. Desperation clawed at her insides, a wild, gnawing beast that wouldn't be tamed. She tried to swallow the lump in her throat, but it was a futile effort; tears spilled over, hot and bitter. She sank to the floor, knees pulled to her chest, rocking back and forth as if motion could soothe the storm within her.

"Why? Why would anyone do this to me? Where did I go so wrong that you had to take revenge like this.?"

Jaeyi's heart ached for her. Seeing her in such pain felt like a punch to the gut. She moved closer, slowly and quietly, not wanting to startle her. She wrapped her arms around Kyunghi, pulling her into a gentle embrace.

"I'm here," She whispered, stroking her hair softly. "You're not alone. We'll get through this together."

Kyunghi's sobs were heart-wrenching, each one a testament to her deep despair. Jaeyi could feel her trembling, and wished more than anything that she could take away her pain. She held her, letting her cry, offering her presence as a balm to Kyunghi's wounded soul.

"I can't imagine what you are going through so I won't say that I understand you but I can't see you like this. You need help and trying to find out who did something so heartless won't make things better. Please try and calm down. It's not good for your health." Jaeyi said in her soft and soothing voice, there was an unspoken promise of understanding and compassion. It was a voice that made you feel heard, valued, and cherished, as if she could see straight into your heart and knew exactly what you needed to hear.

Kyunghi eventually stopped crying and picked up her weak body with the help of Jaeyi. Her body wobbly from fatigue, her eyes hazy and aching. Jaeyi wasn't strong enough to hold her so she knew she had to be strong enough to help Jaeyi out.

The only noise in the living room was that of Yoona trying to scrub off all the evidence of the humiliation that had just occurred.

"One of you seriously got so scared of this stupid thing that you decided to do this?" Yoona said through her teeth.

"I don't know who did it but you have to understand that person's feelings as well. Of course that person was scared. It's human nature to put ourselves first. It's not our fault that she was slu-" He was mid-sentence, when the punch came out of nowhere. His words were abruptly silenced as a fist collided with his jaw, sending a jolt of pain radiating through his face. The shock of the blow made him stagger, his vision blurring and his mind reeling. The sharp, sudden impact interrupted his tirade, leaving him gasping and disoriented, his cruel words replaced by a stunned silence. Yoongi's reaction surprised everyone as much as it surprised Suho. It was hard for everyone to imagine that anything had happened between him and Kyunghi but his face taut face, his jaw clenched so tightly they thought his teeth might crack. His eyes, normally calm and reflective, now blazed with a fierce intensity, dark and stormy. His fists still balled in the air waiting to send another punch at Suho. Every muscle in his body was tense, coiled like a spring ready to snap. It was as if a storm had overtaken him, raw and powerful, threatening to unleash its fury at any moment. It was as if everything humane about him had left but his eyes said otherwise. They were filled with agonizing pain which turned to tears when he looked to the side and saw Kyunghi looking at him. Looking at him as if she couldn't recognise him.
