Chapter 2: First Missions

The group decided to gather near the empty field near the campus. The sun was ready to set and the sky had streaks of orange and pink. Excitement buzzed in the air as they settled around the picnic blanket, the ornate box at its centre.

"So, who’s ready for round one?" Jimin asked a mischievous glint in his eyes.

The group exchanged eager glances, a sense of anticipation palpable among them.

"I am backing out of this game if the missions get too difficult," Taehyung said looking at the weird-looking box.

"Oh come on, are you going to be a coward like Suho? He has texted me saying how he is worried about this whole thing like a hundred times yesterday." Yoona laughed.

"Oh fuck off Yoona. Are you going to be like this and expose my secrets? Remember that I also know some things about you that these people will never let go." Suho provoked.

"You guys have secrets amongst each other? And I thought we were all close." Ah Reum sighed looking down.

"We are close but they are a different type of close." Kyung Hi lightly bumped her shoulder to Yoona's, giving her a teasing smile and everybody started laughing and teasing them.

Yoona cleared her throat, " We should start right away. We also have to choose an imposter according to the game."

"Yeah right. I can’t wait to see what missions we get," Hoseok exclaimed, his enthusiasm infectious.

Seokjin nodded in agreement. "Just remember, everyone, safety first. We don’t want anyone getting hurt."

As they reached for the box, each member hesitated, the anticipation mounting with each passing moment.

Kyung Hi picked up the role cards, "So now I am going to shuffle and distribute these. No one gets to change their cards. We have one imposter and the rest will be players. For anyone who is not aware of the rules, I will say it once. If later anyone loses and says that they did not know the rule, I will not leave you. So we have one imposter who is supposed to kill while completing their missions and the players will have to catch the imposter while completing their missions. Don't say your mission out loud or say it to anyone. Anyone could be an imposter and if the imposter knows your mission, you get killed. It's very simple."

Saying the instructions, she kept the cards down so that everyone could pick up cards in the order they were sitting in. Everyone looked at each other in anticipation, hoping to get a glimpse of any emotion that gave away their role.

"Now, it's time to pick up the mission cards." Jaeyi shuffles them once and keeps them on the table.

Jimin chuckled as he read the card. "Well, this should be interesting."

As they dispersed to complete their missions, each member embarked on their adventure, a mix of excitement and trepidation swirling in their hearts.

She reached the statue and gently placed the crown on its head, feeling a sense of joy and accomplishment.

Suho’s POV:

Suho's mission was to light a candle in the chapel. Suho’s brow furrowed in thought as he read his mission. It seemed simple enough, but there was something about it that made him feel uneasy. As the night wore on and the group was getting done with their missions, they started gathering back at the place of their meeting.

"The missions were easier than expected," Hoseok says, his face showing how happy his mission made him.

"For you maybe. Mine was scary." Seokjin says shivering at the thought of the horrible mission.

"Can we discuss our missions now? I really want to know what everyone else got." Jungkook exclaimed.

"Absolutely. According to the rules, the imposter can only kill you while you are completing your mission." Kyung Hi reads through the rules once again.

As soon as Kyung Hi says that, chaos ensues. Everyone starts excitedly talking about their missions and how they did it.

"It’s weird how these missions seem to be made for us," Suho remarked, a note of concern in his voice.

Yoona rolled her eyes, dismissing his observation with a laugh. "Come on, Suho, don’t be such a scaredy-cat. It’s just a game."

But Suho couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the back of his mind.
