After a long day at university, Allie was now working a shift at one of her two jobs. It was in order for Allie to be able to pay her rent and save enough money to pay off her student debt at the end of her degree. It was tough and very tiring but she knew that it would all be worth it in the end.

The short, blonde girl was not a big fan of cleaning in any shape or form but here she was. Allie worked as a cleaner whenever she couldn't pick up extra shifts in Primark. Today, she was cleaning the house of an elderly woman. She didn't mind so much because Marjorie was a lovely woman and most of the time, she called Allie round for a cup of tea and a chat. The older woman was lonely after her husband had passed a few months ago and Allie provided the company that she needed as well as her cleaning services.

"Is there anyone special in your life right now?" Marjorie questioned the sweet young girl who was currently scrubbing at the floorboards in her living room, trying to get rid of the red wine stain from when the elderly woman had spilt her wine just last week.

"Oh no, not for me. I just get my head down and keep working." Allie gave the woman a smile before wiping the beads of sweat from her forehead.

"You know, honey, if you can't get the wine stain out, it's okay. I can always tell everyone that a murder took place in the house before I moved in." The elderly woman laughed and Allie felt a wave of relief wash over her. The wine stain was refusing to budge from the wooden floor and the blonde knew that she would be able to return home and continue to work on her dissertation.

"Thank you for coming over. I always love talking to you." Marjorie pushed herself out of her seat. It took a lot more effort these days than what it used to but she was determined to give her cleaner a tight hug.

"Anytime, Marjorie. You know that you're my favourite." The blonde smiled before packing up her cleaning supplies into the tray that she always brought whenever she had a house to clean. it kept her organised and that's what she liked. Organisation was her thing.

"I'll hope to see you next week, dear. Even if it is just for a catch-up." The silver-haired woman was as sweet as they come. She didn't have a bad bone in her body and that's why Allie found her to be her favourite client.

"I can't wait." Allie gave Marjorie one last smile before leaving the grand house and getting into her beaten up car for the journey home.

When Allie parked in the car park for her block of flats, she left her cleaning products and her apron in her car. Usually, she would take the lift up to her flat that she shared with Monique but because of her busy schedule, she hadn't been able to go to the gym. Allie was no gym freak but she liked to keep herself fit, even if it was just a walk a day so she decided to take the long trek up the stairs.

Once Allie reached the floor that her shared flat was on, she was out of breath. She hadn't been to the gym in a few weeks because she had been bogged down with uni work but she knew that she would have to get back as soon as possible.

When Allie got to the front door, she knew that Monique was in because she could hear her loud voice. The blonde girl went to open the painted door of the flat but as she reached out, a bouquet of flowers caught her eye.

She reached down and picked them up, seeing that they were pink tulips, her favourite flower.

Allie looked around the hallway, looking to see if she could find the person who had left the flowers but it was deserted. Her slender fingers found the piece of card that was attached to the wrapping that the flowers were contained in. it read:

Allie,

I hope your Friday was a good one because you deserve it. You light up every room that you enter.

The card wasn't signed from anyone and it was all typed, making it absolutely impossible for the blonde girl to guess who might have left her the flowers.

Allie decided to open the door to her flat and ask her best friend if she knew who the flowers could have been from since she had been home all afternoon. Walking into the living room, Allie saw that Harry Winks was sitting on the couch with her best friend, a cup of tea in his hand.

"Oh hey, Allie." Monique sent the girl a friendly smile and noticed the flowers in her arms.

"Oh, who are they from?" She asked and now, Harry's attention was on the blonde girl, a slight blush decorating his cheeks. This sign told Monique exactly what she needed to know and she was glad that her little Haz was making some sort of attempt at trying to get the girl.

"I was about to ask you the same thing." Allie looked out the only vase that the pair had and started to arrange the flowers in it, making sure that they were properly cared for since it was such a sweet gesture.

"No idea," Monique replied, sending her ex-boyfriend a wink and seeing him sigh with relief.

Harry was glad that the tanned girl was willing to cover for him because he didn't know what he would have done if the girl that he knew so well had outed him.

"Well, whoever it was, it was very sweet of them and i hope that i get to thank them one day." Once Allie was finished with her flowers, she sat them on the windowsill and made her way to her room so that she could continue her dissertation on rivers.
