allie waited a whole week after receiving her last bouquet of flowers and had decided to stay home when friday came around. marjorie had called and asked the blonde to clean her house for the fifth week running but allie had explained the situation that she was in. the elderly woman had immediately told allie not to worry about it and do whatever it was that she needed to do.

the friday wasn't nearly as exciting as allie had thought that it would be. she was forced to stay inside the flat so that she wouldn't miss her admirer. allie had completed a total of two complete seasons of netflix shows and she was beginning to grow restless.

the girl knew perfectly well that she could have been working on her university dissertation instead of lazing around the flat, however, she figured that if she did, she would get lost in her work and miss the delivery. that was something she didn't want to do otherwise her whole friday would've been a complete waste.

just as allie was going to start her third series of the day, she heard a bit of rustling and scratching at the door.

without a second thought, she jumped off of the couch and headed straight for the door. when allie opened it up, she found harry winks standing there as if he was a deer caught in the headlights.

"allie," harry was speechless. he usually was whenever he saw how beautiful the blonde girl was but today he was speechless for a different reason.

"you're usually working." he stuttered out. he was shocked and embarrassed about being caught. he didn't know how it could happen when he always had everything planned out perfectly. monique had told him when allie's shifts were so that he could drop the flowers off without bumping into the blonde but today he wasn't so lucky.

"not today. marjorie says i can catch up with my cleaning another time." the smile that was on allie's face should have told harry that everything was okay but still, he was worried and scared about potentially being rejected. that would be mortifying but something that he had been preparing for. allie was a goddess in harry's eyes and he was just plain, old harry billy winks.

"uh, sorry about all the flowers. i know it might be a bit creepy-" the footballer didn't have the chance to finish before allie started to talk again. she was usually so quiet and shy but today, she was being really chatty and harry didn't know if that was a good or a bad thing.

"creepy? no! i've loved it. i actually stayed home today because i thought that it was you who had been leaving the flowers." allie admitted, suddenly taking an interest in her new primark socks to hide the blush that had creeped onto her face.

"you did? how?" harry questioned, wondering how he had slipped up.

"the socks? we were talking about it a week before and then you bought the socks that showed up on my doorstep." the blonde girl spoke and it suddenly made sense to harry. he was hoping that she wouldn't have picked up on that but she was too smart for that. allie was doing a geography degree at a highly respected institution.

"oh." that was all harry winks had to say. he was usually someone who had so much to say. his teammates would vouch for that but he was completely and utterly speechless. he didn't know what was going to happen next or how to even continue with the conversation with allie. he truly was at a loss for words.

"just for the record, i could listen to you talk all day and i definitely don't find your rants boring." the short girl rocked back and forth on her heels nervously and harry smiled. maybe his plan was working. maybe it wasn't as much of a failure as he thought it was.

"i like you, harry. you make me feel special so-" this time, it was harry's turn to interrupt allie mid sentence because if he didn't say what he had to say now, he didn't think he ever would.

"will you go on a date with me?" the brunette boy blurted out and allie couldn't help the smile that appeared on her face. it was so big that she could probably give the cheshire cat a run for its money.

"of course i will." what allie did next threw harry off guard completely.

she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his neck tightly, engulfing him in a hug. the usually quiet girl had a sudden surge in confidence and it reassured harry. the girl that he was crushing hard on liked him back. to him, it was almost better than tottenham winning a derby match against arsenal or cheslea. only time would tell him if it was better or not.

"can i pick you up at four on sunday?" he questioned once they had pulled away from their hug. harry knew for a fact, thanks to monique, that allie wasn't supposed to have any shifts or classes that day.

"yes, you can. i'm looking forward to it, haz." allie smiled as she picked up the flowers and the note that was inside and slowly backed inside her flat.

"me too." he returned the smile and when she closed the door of her flat, harry punched the air with excitement but what he didn't know was that the blonde girl was watching him from the peep hole. allie could only laugh at his dorkiness.

allie sniffed her flowers and read the note with a smile on her face.

allie,

i hope that one day i'll have the courage to own up to the flowers and ask you on a proper date. until then, enjoy your tulips.

allie and harry seemed to have impecable timing.
