When Madison went back to school, it was Friday. The day of the dance, and Madison still hadn't talked with Peter. Which sucked, but there was nothing she could do. In class she never had time to speak with him, because she was always helping with Homecoming stuff. And after school Madison knew Peter had detention.

So Madison had just decided that maybe she wouldn't be going to Homecoming with anyone and she would just go with Liz. Which suited her fine; at least she wouldn't be completely alone. She just focused on finishing everything for the dance.

She was thinking about all of this as she walked the empty halls. Madison turned the corner and saw Peter com out of the bathroom, a hall pass in his hand. The girl blinked as she thought of the irony of the situation.

"Hey," Peter spoke, slowly stopping.

"Hey," Madison repeated, as she walked over to the trophy case.

Peter gave the girl a look, "I thought you had Chemistry fifth period."

"Yeah, I was just doing some Homecoming stuff," Madison replied, noticing how awkward the conversation was.

The boy then walked up to Madison, "Hey, look, I, uh... I just wanted to apologize about the whole Decathlon thing. I really-"

"It's fine. Last week, I didn't understand, but now I do," Madison cut in.

"No, I, I just meant that... it was not cool, especially," Peter gave a sigh, "Because... I like you."

Madison looked at the boy in shock, "You do?"

"Yeah, which is why I shouldn't have left you waiting like that. It was a bad thing to do and I'm so sorry," Peter explained.

"It's fine. You just did some really stupid stuff," Madison replied.

Peter let out a laugh, "Yeah you'd be surprised."

Madison then looks at Peter in the eyes. Silence fell between the two, for a couple of seconds. It was awkward, but Madison was happy to even be talking to Peter after not hearing a word from him for a week.

Peter then snapped out of it and started to back away, "I got to get to class, but, um, I'd say we should hang out, but you're dad is pretty mad at me and I'm gonna be in detention for like... ever, but, um, I guess you already have a date to Homecoming."

"Actually, I was so busy planning it and dealing with other things I never really got around to that part, so..." Madison answered, trailing off and looking at the ground.

"Uh, do you want to go with me?" Peter asked, his voice shaking.

Madison looked up and gave a small smile, "Yeah. Sure."

"Really? I mean, uh, great. Cool," Peter replied, giving a grin.

The younger Stark gave a nod, "Cool, as long as you're okay meeting at Liz's house because we were going to meet up with friends."

"Yeah that's cool," Peter answered, "I'm actually going that way."

Peter then walked passed Madison; she turned around and watched as he practically skipped away. The girl laughed to herself as she felt her heart race. She couldn't believe that the universe had actually been on her side for once. And never in a million years would Madison had thought the thing to make her so happy would be to go to a Homecoming dance with a boy she had a crush on.

The rest of the day dragged on, and once the final bell rang Madison raced out of school to meet up with Liz. She found her friend waiting at the front doors, talking with a bunch of people.

"Liz, guess what," Madison smiled as she caught up to her friend.

"What?" the girl replied, a look of confusion falling on her face.

Madison gabbed Liz's hands as she jumped up and down, "Peter asked me to the dance."

"Peter as in Peter Parker?" Liz asked, giving her friend a smile.

"Yes, Peter Parker," Madison laughed as she danced around.

Liz let out a giggle as she watched her friend, "That's amazing. I'm so happy for you."

"Yeah he is meeting us at your house later," Madison explained, "Oh my God. We have to get ready."

The younger Stark then pulled Liz along, wanting to get to the house as fast as possible. Liz and Madison talked the whole way there about the dance, both girls were excited to get dressed up and go have fun.

Once they got to Liz's house they raced up the stairs and started to get ready. Madison pulled out her dress and put it on. She loved it so much more now than she had did in the store.

It was a shimmering black that was short in the front and became longer in the back, with a sweetheart neckline. The shoes that she had bought with them were sparkling black heels that made her a little taller, even though it was only by a few inches.

"Wow, black is definitely your color," Liz gushed as she came out of the bathroom.

Her dress was a short one with shoulder sleeves. The color was a mix between red and pink, with floral patterns all over it. And she was wearing red flats to go with it.

"And red is your color," Madison replied, "We both look super hot."

"Peter is going to die when he sees you in that dress," Liz commented, "If he doesn't then I just might."

Madison gave a wink, "Don't worry, we will be drooling on the floor."

"You better not leave me alone all night while you and Peter rendezvous," Liz warned in a light hearted way.

The girl put one hand up and the other on her heart, "I solemnly swear that I will not leave you hanging tonight."

Both of the girls then fell into a fit of laughter. They were laughing their heads off for a good minute or two before they heard a knock on the door.

Liz's mom then entered the room, "Wow you guys look amazing. Peter is here."

"Oh good," Liz cheered as she grabbed Madison's hand, "Let's go see your lover boy."

"You did not just make a Hunger Games reference," Madison sighed as she was dragged down the stairs.

As soon as all three of them were down the steps, Liz's dad started to speak, "Wow, wow, wow. Do you both look beautiful."

"Please don't embarrass us, Dad," Liz spoked as the two walked forward.

Madison locked eyes with Peter, hoping for a smile, but there was something else on his face. Fear. Madison had no idea why, but she knew it was there.

"Don't they, Pete?" Mr. Toomes asked.

Peter nodded his head as he stared at the man, "Yeah, you look really good."

"Once again, that's the right answer," Mr. Toomes smiled, pointing a knife in their direction.

Liz looked down at Peter's hands, "Is that a corsage for Maddi?"

Peter, without speaking, handed Madison the pink flower. Her face fell into confusion as she spoke, "Thanks."

"Well, hey, I'm your chauffeur, so, uh, let's get this show on the road," the man said as he put down a towel.

"No, no, no, no, we have to take some pictures, babe," Liz's mom spoke as she grabbed a camera, "All right. Oh, right here. Perfect."

The three high school students got together as they took pictures. Madison kept looking a Peter, who was staring at Mr. Toomes. The girl knew there was something going on, but she had no idea what it was.

"Sir, you don't have to drive us," Peter spoke quickly.

"No, no it's not a big deal. I'm going out of town. it's right on my way," Mr. Toomes countered, grabbing his jacket.

Liz was looking at the photos with her mother as Madison watched her date. Liz's mother looked up, "He's always coming and going."

"Last time," the man said as he gave is wife a kiss on the cheek and ushered the girls out of the door.

They both walked to the car and sat inside, Madison was still trying to figure out what was going on.
