Madison's eyes widened at the person standing in front of her. Nemesis had one of her wicked smiles plastered on her face as if she had just won an award. But instead she had in fact just killed someone right in front of Madison. Someone who had helped Madison and knew that she was most likely going to die for it.

The girl's eyes flickered over at her and stared at Bella's lifeless body. Her eyes were open and a pool of crimson blood was seeping from her body. And it was all over Madison's hands. She continued to stare at the dark liquid on her hands, and wonder what in the world led this girl to meet such and end.

"You know, I always had a feeling she would do something like this," Nemesis stated nonchalantly as she tossed the gun to the side, "There was just something about her that made her soft."

"Yeah. Maybe her being human," Madison spat, holding back the tears that were swimming in her eyes.

Nemesis took a step forward, "Oh come on now. I thought after the month of mother daughter time we shared you would be more open minded."

The girl shook her head, "You're insane. Just let me go."

"No can do. We still have work that needs to be done," Nemesis stated, continuing to step closer and closer.

Madison began to pull herself up, ignoring the splitting pain that was inside her head, "We have nothing. You're sick."

"Such harsh words for the woman who made you better," Nemesis spoke, giving the girl a smirk as she sarcastically shook her head.

"You took things from me," Madison huffed as she fully stood up, "You made me empty."

She was wobbling from side to side, and the mention of the missing memories struck pain inside Madison's skull. Nemesis gave a laugh, "Honey, those memories you had, those feelings you had made you weak. Trust me, I helped you."

"No," Madison groaned as she started to back away, "You made me numb. You took something from me that was important."

"A small price to pay in order to become better. Love always gets in the way of things," Nemesis replied, still inching her way closer.

The younger Stark shook her head violently at those words, "It hurts."

"Because you're trying to remember," Nemesis whispered as she reached Madison, "Just stop trying and let your mind forget about it."

Madison placed her hands on her head as she leaned onto the wall for support. Something in her mind was tearing her apart. Something was trying to make itself known and come to light. But it just couldn't, and it was tearing Madison's head apart.

"Let go of those feeling you have. They won't save you. Peter won't save you," Nemesis cooed, placing her hands on Madison's.

At the mention of that name Madison let out a scream. Her head started to pound even more as flashes of his face became present in her mind. There was a memory of him smiling in a car, hanging upside down from the ceiling, him reading a book in a library. It seemed as if Madison was watching clips of a movie, but the movie kept jumping from scene to scene. And it caused the story to become jumbled and hard to understand.

Different emotions began to take over Madison as pain flowed through her body. A story was trying to be brought to light, but it couldn't push past a certain point. Madison tried to get the memories back. However, they started to fade away again and it was causing her to feel even more pain. It was as if for a split second she felt less numb in her heart, and she wanted that feeling back.

"No," Madison spoke, looking up and staring the woman in front of her.

Nemesis shook her head, "What do you mean?"

Madison didn't give an answered as she shoved her hand outward, causing a gust of wind to fly Nemesis into the stone wall. The villain fell to the ground and clutched her head. Madison took a step forward and said, "I said no."

"You're so stupid," Nemesis laughed, "You could be so much better, but yet you choose these stupid feelings. That's why you haven't thought everything through."

"What are you talking about?" Madison questioned as she put a foot on the woman's chest.

She let out another crackling laugh as she pulled out a small device, "I told you I had a feeling something like this would happen. So I planned accordingly."

"You set bombs in this place?" the girl questioned.

Nemesis nodded her head, "I always have a back up plan. Even if it will take down the city."

"Were in the city?" Madison asked, wondering how close to home she was.

"Yes, where better to hide you than in plain sight," the villain smiled.

"That will get everyone killed," Madison barked, but her eyes widened with fear.

"And it will be wonderful. You're strong now because of me, so let's see if you can stop this," Nemesis stated as she pressed the button.

A beeping noise started to sound all throughout the building and Madison took off out of the door. As soon as she made it through the door, the building started to catch on fire. The bombs that were laced inside started to go off.

Madison then looked around and saw that she was in an alley. The people on the street started to scream as the building started to explode. Without knowing what would happen, Madison stuck out both of her hands and began trying to stop the explosions.

She began to use everything she had inside of her, trying to contain in all into one space. Slowly the flames that began to escape fell into a place and nothing seemed to travel beyond a certain point. It hurt Madison to hold it there. It felt as if her body was being ripped apart as she contained the explosion.

The girl had no idea what was going to happen, but at this point she didn't think about it. Instead she began to absorb the fire. This act alone hurt so much more than all of the torture that she had gone through in the last month combine. Madison knew that is was killing her.

It always hurt Madison to absorb fire. It was the one thing that she never understood, and her body was struggling to take it. She knew that with the explosion this size that if she let it go it would kill thousands, and she couldn't let that happen. Even if it did kill her, she had to stop what her mother started.

Madison never understood the goals of Nemesis, even after a month. But she knew that whatever it was that it was wrong. And she couldn't live with herself knowing that she won. So Madison didn't stop, she continued to pull the fire into her veins.

By now Madison was glowing red and screaming out in pain, slowly the fire began to decrease and disappear. The girl heard noises coming from the ally that she was in.

"Stop! You're killing yourself!" a voice yelled out.

But it was too late, Madison had most of the fire gone. It was trapped inside of her and her body itched with pain. It felt as if it was melting away. And once Madison saw that all of the flames were gone, she collapsed to the floor.

Strong arms caught her before she hit the ground. Madison vision became blurry and it started to fade in and out. She looked up at who had caught her.

It was the boy she saw. The one that made her feel something. The one that caused her pain to think about. He was wearing a red and blue suit that seemed familiar to her. But his face was exposed.

"I'm sorry," was all Madison said before the pain pulled her under and everything went black.
