"where is she?!" Madison called out as she marched into Farah, Drew, and Austin's apartment, not caring who was home and who wasn't. Austin, who was still asleep on the couch from the night before, woke up startled and nearly jumped out of his skin.

"what? who's there?!" Austin gasped. he shot upright and frantically looked around the room. Madison stormed right past him and up to Farah's door, rapping her knuckles against the wood quickly before swinging the door open.

Madison barged into the room, flipping the light on and slamming the door shut. Farah was still fast asleep under her covers but was woken up by Petunia's inevitable barking. she jumped up, peeling her eyes open to see who had walked in. when she saw Madison standing there with her arms crossed, she groaned and put her head back down with a soft thud.

"so let me get this straight...you leave the club, don't answer your phone, and you're just not gonna say anything to me?" Madison questioned, lifting her eyebrows expectantly. Farah shook her head, not having the energy to give a verbal response just yet. her friend sighed and walked closer to the bed.

"at least debrief me on what happened with that guy! he was so cute. please tell me you hooked up with him? or at least got his number?" Madison pried, feeling hopeful that her friend was successful the night before.

when Farah shook her head no, almost defeatedly, Madison threw hers back and groaned disappointedly. Farah furrowed her eyebrows, a pang of hurt and guilt hitting her all at once. she couldn't help the tears that began to form in her eyes as she thought about what happened. she was embarrassed, to say the least, and Madison wasn't making the situation any better.

"why nottttt?" Madison whined, continuing to press on. she didn't look to Farah at first, but when she did, she was quick to notice that her friend was close to tears. her expression softened instantly. "Fay, what happened? did he hurt you?" her quick transition from childish behavior to mother-like behavior made Farah's heart swell with acceptance.

without saying another word, Madison kicked off her shoes and climbed onto Farah's bed, not hesitating to wrap her arms tightly around her shoulders. Farah paused for a moment before wrapping her arms loosely around Madison and letting the tears fall freely. Madison let her cry it out for a few minutes then decided when would be the best time to bring it back up. when Farah seemed like she was starting to calm down, Madison took that as her opportunity to ask.

"you wanna talk about what happened?" the woman asked, gently rubbing Farah's upper arms with her hands to try and soothe her. Farah nodded her head and forced herself away from Madison. she sat upright in her bed before violently wiping the tears from under her eyes.

"i genuinely don't know if this is gonna end up being serious or not but," Farah took in a deep breath. "he grabbed my ass, then he shoved me when i told him i didn't like that. so, i punched him in the face." Farah said sheepishly, avoiding eye contact with her friend.

Madison gasped loudly, her eyes widening in shock. she instantly covered her mouth with her hands. "shit. i'm sorry." Madison kept her hands over her mouth for a few seconds longer before she started laughing. "i'm so fucking sorry. i shouldn't- i shouldn't be laughing but, you are just...full of surprises dude. that's actually crazy."

finally dropping her hands, Madison wiped the smile off of her face in a split second.

"uh, it's okay" Farah chuckled. "but...uh, yeah. they kicked me out and let him stay. they called the cops on me, i think. when the bouncer kicked me out he said that i better hope that dude doesn't press charges. i just don't know what to do." she muttered, rubbing her hands down her face tiredly.

Madison raised her eyebrows in shock, then crinkled her face in disgust. "of course they did" she spat. "fucking pigs, bro. i'm so sorry that happened Farah. if he presses charges, then i'll literally kill-"

"honestly, i think if anything bad were to happen to me it would've happened by now." she looked to Madison, a look of fear flashing through her features. pressing her lips into a thin line, Madison nodded her her head and scratched the back of her neck.

"right, my fault."

"but like, that wasn't it. the fun didn't stop there!" Farah reached out and shook Madison's shoulder with her hand as she spoke. "the night just got worse from there out! after Drew came to pick me up, i told him that if he was serious about Amanda, he should stop sneaking away from her to come hang out with me. like, what?! are you shitting me? that's so awful!"

Madison remained silent but nodded her head, confirming that she heard Farah. she processed her words even though she didn't fully quite understand. "well...did he?"

Farah shook her head excessively. "no. well, not exactly. he did leave her here to come pick me up, but it wasn't because we were gonna hang out. Austin wouldn't answer his phone, so Drew was my next call. he picked up and he drove down to 'Trio' to get me. but fuck me for drinking those stupid green tea shots...i was drunk out of my mind, i didn't know what i was saying."

the two girls couldn't help but giggle with each other, their shoulders bumping together as they did so. Farah stopped giggling eventually and began to nod her head slightly, trying to gather what she was going to say next. she looked over at Madison, then to the picture frames that lined her desk. her eyes landed on a photo of her and Drew, one that was taken on the night they met. she remembered it like it was yesterday.

smiling to herself, she looked down at her hands that were now folded in her lap, her fingers picking at the loose skin around her nails. "i don't wanna keep making him mad anymore, Maddie. i mean, i really don't like Amanda," she sighed and pursed her lips. "but at the end of the day it's not my relationship, it's his. and he knows it better than i do."

Madison nodded her head slowly, her eyes scanning over Farah's body. "have you tried to talk to him since last night?"

Farah hummed in response, pulling her phone out from underneath her bedsheets and unlocking it. "i texted him a few times and called him, but no response. and i know he's awake 'cause he texted in the group chat this morning."

"oh," Madison replied shortly. "he'll answer eventually. he's probably just trying to make up with Amanda right now." she said with a slight smirk. the pang that Farah felt in her chest was unmatched, but she pushed the feeling away and wrote it off as just something that happened randomly.

Farah slumped down in her bed but kept her face neutral. she didn't need Madison to know that the thought of Drew trying to make up with Amanda made her want to cry. unfortunately for Farah, Madison was quick to pick up on it.

feeling the sudden shift of emotion, Madison quickly thought of what she could say to bring her spirits back up. slowly, she cracked a grin and leaned in closer to her friend. "did you at least hit the guy hard?"

Farah looked over at her from the corner of her eye and let out a loud giggle. "yeah, kinda. blood was gushin' for sure."

Madison, now intrigued by her friends outburst from the night before, sat with her jaw slack. she blinked a few times and sputtered. "i genuinely cannot believe Mads and i missed that! what the fuck!"

"to be fair," Farah chuckled. "you guys were definitely drunk out of your minds too. i'm not the only one!"

Madison laughed in response. "you're not wrong! to be fair, i don't remember anything after Mads and i walked off. we had more shots after that, so genuinely have no clue. i don't even remember how i got home."

Farah beamed at the girl and wrapped her arms around her shoulders tightly. in a sudden burst of affection, Farah leaned over and pressed a kiss to the top of Madison's head to which she grinned about.

"aww. i love you, Fay. i'm really sorry i pushed you to dance with him, i feel like this is all my fault."

Farah shook her head dismissively. she didn't want to talk about last night anymore, so she did what she knew how to do best: advert. "so, what happened with you and Mads last night? did you two get any better action?"

Madison chortled, throwing her head back into Farah's shoulder. "okay, now you're getting into starbucks and joint territory." she looked up at her friend pleadingly. she even went the extra mile to jut her bottom lip out.

Farah couldn't help but beam. "ugh, you read my mind babe. i was thinking that when you first came in but i didn't want to be rude. here, lemme roll." she removed herself from the bed and walked over to her closet. Madison sat upright, watching Farah as she carefully pulled a small bin from the top shelf.

"fuck, you just saved my life. i haven't smoked in DAYS." Madison said exaggeratedly, knowing that the two had smoked together just a day prior. Farah rolled her eyes and set the bin on top of her vanity.

"do you wanna do the starbucks run and i'll roll two? one for the money, two for the show." she sang dramatically with a little dance, causing Madison to chuckle. the sudden burst of energy was unexpected, but it was welcomed with a smile.

"sure. iced caramel macchiato? venti?" Madison questioned while quirking an eyebrow. Farah nodded as she began to unpack the box.

"yes, if you wouldn't mind. i'll give you cash." she offered, not looking up from the box. Madison shook her head dismissively.

"baby, you're letting me smoke. i'm not gonna worry about you paying me back." she said with a slight giggle, pulling her shoes onto her feet. Farah rolled her eyes but grinned anyway. "i'll be back" Madison stated in her best 'Terminator' impression. her friend laughed and shook her head.

when Madison returned to the apartment, Austin was no longer on the couch. in his place however, was a sound asleep Petunia. she was snoring louder than Madison had ever heard from a dog before. she couldn't help but laugh to herself. walking around the apartment cautiously, Madison peeked around to try and find Farah.

when she reached the balcony area, she craned her neck to see around the blinds. Farah was sat on one of the chairs with her back to Madison. smiling to herself, she walked over and slowly opened the door, trying not to wake Petunia. when she got outside, she handed Farah her coffee and took a seat in the other chair placed beside her.

"that was quick." Farah commented, taking an appreciative sip of her coffee. Madison shrugged.

"i'm a quick walker, what can i say." the two girls giggled.

Farah reached over and delicately placed her coffee on the table next to them. with her now free hand, she grabbed one of the joints and the lighter and placed the end in her mouth. she was quick to spark the lighter, setting the end on fire and carefully twisting the flame around. once it was lit, she took a long puff to make sure it was lit, then passed it to Madison.

"okay, whenever you're ready." Farah said matter-of-factly, wiping her hands on her bare legs. Madison furrowed her eyebrows and took a puff, then another, before furrowing her eyebrows.

"huh?" she blew the smoke out of her mouth and glanced over to her friend. "what do you mean?"

Farah flicked her hand to the side and took a hit. "you know...what happened at the club?" she purposefully overemphasized her words and expressions, knowing that it drove Madison nuts. the girl groaned loudly and rolled her eyes.

"fuck you! i'm not gonna tell you now." Madison grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest. Farah couldn't help but laugh, pushing the smoke out of her lungs and coughing a bit.

"please babe? i'm sorry." she pleaded over-dramatically, causing Madison to crinkle her nose. Farah passed the joint back to her and mimicked her sitting posture. the brunette girl nodded her head slowly and squinted her eyes. she looked deep in thought which surprised Farah, considering that Madison claimed she didn't remember a thing from last night. she suppressed a smirk and thought to herself, what an actress.

"so, i can't say anything really happened..." Madison started, provoking a loud groan of annoyance from Farah.

"dude..."

"what?!" Madison shot back, her eyebrows raised as high as her voice was. "you had nothing to give me either, Townes. i don't wanna hear your groaning and moaning."

Farah couldn't help but giggle and covering her mouth with the back of her hand. the brunette girl rolled her eyes and took a puff before passing the joint back to Farah. she accepted it gratefully and held it up high.

"you tricked me!" Farah accused in a British accent. "you bloody tricked me!"

Madison chuckled and shook her head dismissively. "sorry! Mads convinced me to take more green tea shots. or maybe it was pink whitney." she furrowed her brow in thought, pressing the tip of her index finger to her chin. Farah visibly cringed, faked a smile, then decided to make a joke at her own expense.

"oh yum-" she pretended to gag. "i mean yum-" she pretended to gag again, this time pulling a sour expression. she took a hit before muttering a weak and unconvincing, "i mean, my favorite!" smoke poured out of her mouth and she shuddered.

Madison laughed. "did you throw up though? like this morning?"

Farah shook her head and sighed. "no. massive headache though, so this coffee is really saving me." she lifted the coffee off the table and inspected it lovingly.

passing the joint back to Madison, Farah stretched her legs out in front of her and groaned loudly. "ugh. i'm never gonna drink again." Farah let her eyes flutter shut and propped her head up with her hand.

Madison hummed in response and took a hit. "yeah, right." her and Farah chuckled, both of them knowing that she wouldn't stick to her resolution. "so, why didn't you call? or at least text?"

Farah sighed. tilting her head to the side, she gave Madison a look. "my phone died. i'm sorry. i told Drew to text you, but apparently he didn't."

the brunette girl frowned and shook her head. Farah rolled her eyes in response and took the joint from Madison. it was getting gross, so she decided to light the second one after stubbing the first one out.

"i thought i smelled you guys." a voice spoke from behind them. both Farah and Madison jumped before spinning around in their seats. they looked to Austin, who was trying his best to hold Petunia back with his leg, and grinned.

"aye!" Farah called out in her best pirate voice. "climb aboard, ye scalawag!"

Austin chuckled and turned to push Petunia back, but the ferocious little dog wouldn't give up until she was by Farah's side. panting like a maniac, Petunia pushed herself up against Austin's arms and ran her little legs as fast as they could go.

"oh my god, let my dog come see me!" Farah called out annoyed. she took a puff and watched as Petunia broke through, dashing across the floor and nearly slipping to get to her owner. Farah chuckled and passed the joint off to Madison. she then opened up her arms to her dog, who gleefully jumped into her lap. Farah smiled and scratched the dog between her ears.

Austin walked out onto the balcony and over to farah. he stood behind her, delicately placing his hands on her shoulders. "did you ladies have fun last night?" he asked rather chirpily, looking between the two. Farah immediately turned her upper body around now looking at austin with disbelief.

"you would know if you picked up your phone" Farah spewed without thinking. "i called you last night and you didn't answer. i needed a ride home."

austin's face dropped. "oh shit, i'm sorry. i thought you were drunk dialing me." he replied earnestly, his arms falling limply at his sides.

"i'd drunk dial twice?" she asked hesitantly. Austin paused for a moment before shaking his head in dismay.

"i'm sorry, babe." he dropped his chin and wrapped his arms around Farah's head, pulling her face into his chest. the roughness of his actions followed by a caring stroke of her hair made Farah giggle. "had i known, i would've woke up."

Farah's expression changed instantly. her face dropped and she looked up at Austin, eyes trained on his face carefully. "liar" she hissed, narrowing her eyes at the boy. he shook his head defensively.

"nuh uh, i'm not lying." he replied like a child. Farah felt her face heating up with anger. though she was mad at Austin not answering his phone, she knew that it would be best to keep last night as much of a secret as possible. she felt embarrassed now that it was over, and the less people that knew, the better.

Farah huffed. "you're lucky i love you." she murmured, causing Austin to grin. he kissed Farah on top of the head before he intercepted the joint that Madison was passing back.

"dude! now you're just straight up crossing the line." Farah chided, watching in feigned disbelief as he took a few puffs. Austin smiled and handed the joint back to her, exhaling a large cloud of smoke.

"sorry, had to get something in before work." he said with a chuckle, clapping his hand down on Farah's shoulder gently.

"work?" Madison questioned skeptically. "you have work today?"

Austin stood there for a moment with a blank expression written on his face. he blinked a few times then nodded his head. "yeah. Jonas called me in last night, says he needs to re-shoot a scene with me and Mads."

the two girls nodded understandingly. they both knew that Jonas was no stranger to wanting to re-shoot scenes on off days. however, both girls were surprised that they didn't get called in as well. not that they were complaining, but call-ins usually came in threes.

"who else got called in? you know?"

Austin shrugged. "Drew, maybe? i think he said something earlier about having to bring Amanda to the set, so Jonas just told him to come in to work anyways." he looked out over the balcony, ignoring the confused looks he was getting from Madison and Farah.

"Amanda?" Madison was the first to question his sentence. Farah was grateful that she did because she also wanted to know the answer.

Austin nodded. "yep. apparently she got an audition or somethin'. i dunno, i wasn't really listening to her when she was telling me and Drew last night." Austin looked down at his phone, checking the clock quickly and sliding it into his pocket. "welp, i gotta go. i'll see you ladies later."

he gave Farah one last pat on the head before turning and walking back to the door. when the door shut, Farah and Madison looked at each other with wide eyes, both of them saying the same thing without having to use words.

what the fuck?
