TOBIO KAGEYAMA
You didn't stand out as much as the other spikers. You didn't have crazy strength like Asahi, or speed and raw skill like Hinata, or even accuracy like Tanaka. You sometimes wanted to change position, but your loyalty to power always got in your way. You desperately wished to have something that made you stand out on the team, something that could get you off the bench. The only one who seemed to notice your struggle was Kageyama. He watched you for a while, seeing how excited you would get when the team would practice anything related to hitting. It was your passion, for sure. So, he asked you about it one day after practice. Of course you were shy to admit it, but he understood what it was like, at one point had been in Oikawa's shadow. You confided in the boy and it sparked a great friendship. He offered to set for you whenever he could, even going as far as to invite you to stay after practice with him to work on your hitting. Slowly, he started seeing your progress, and was proud and amazed at how good you were getting. How coach Ukai didn't notice your potential was beyond him. The more you practiced together, the closer you got. You started hanging out outside of school, which led into him walking you to your classes during the day, and you even shared lunches sometimes. He started to catch feelings early on, but tried to ignore it to keep your friendship in tact, but there was nothing that could stop it. When he saw you getting ready to hit, your eyes lit up with excitement and your obvious passion for the sport, he fell harder. When you would thank him, or compliment his setting, he would turn flustered in a second, completely forgetting how to function normally. He was so far gone.
