Being that you hardly spoke on or off the court, it wasn't long before opposing teams would start picking you apart. You never seemed to react much, but it always bothered your best friend Tanaka. He couldn't stand hearing people talk bad about someone he cared so much for. It left him with a different feeling than when some boys complimented Kiyoko, or someone said something rude about the first years. It left him engaged. All he wanted was for others to see you how he saw you. The feeling may have been new but it didn't take him long to figure out what it was. When he finally accepted it, he became even more protective of you (if possible.) So when he heard Tsukishima make a joke about a small recieve mess up you made, it ignited a fire in him and he immediately turned to give the blonde a piece of his mind. Luckily Daichi was there to interrupt, but you thought it was cute.
