Yaku was a very skilled volleyball player, to the point where you constantly wanted to test just how skilled he was, out. Being a wing spiker yourself, it was only natural that you were enemies. But somewhere along the way, you became close friends, and it evolved into a friendly competition. You wanted to test his libero skills against your hitting, and so you dramatically challenged him in front of (his/the) team. He could only accept whilst under the pressure, and thus began the eternal race to be better than the other. It became one of the staples of Nekoma's volleyball team/s, the never-ending competition between you and him. When you could, after practice, you always stayed behind ro practice a bit more, even going as far as bribing Kenma with videogames to set for you. Sometimes even Kuroo would stay behind to watch.
