"Perfect!"
Eleven looks at herself in the mirror, seeing the sheet over her body. "Spooky."
Gus raises her brows, "Spooky." she confirms with a nod.
Eleven turns to her sister. "Do you think Hopper will say 'yes'?"
"Honestly?" Gus places her hands on her hips and sighs. "Probably not. But it's worth a shot, right?"
Eleven's back straightens, but she gives a curt nod which was distinct enough for Gus to notice. The bob-haired girl smiles, "All right! Let's go." she holds her fist out to Eleven.
The young girl's eyes slightly widen and smiles. She didn't know why, but ever since Gus taught Eleven how to fist bump, the girl would always get excited when it would happen. Eleven lifts her fist up and connects it with Gus'. Gus chuckles softly and looks at the door. "Okay, let's go, let's go."
Gus gently ushers Eleven out of their room and into the kitchen. They stand there for a moment, watching Hopper cook. Gus holds her hands out toward Eleven, motioning to her sister. Hopper pulls his brows together and turns around, his eyes widen from the two girls behind him. "Oh, Jesus!" He jumps.
Gus slightly pulls her face back from Hopper's reaction.
"Ghost." Eleven speaks up.
"Yeah, I see that." Hopper looks back at the food.
"Halloween." Eleven adds.
"Sure is." Hopper turns off the stove and walks over to the counter with plates.
Gus' eyes widen and she cranes her neck forward. That was the most adorable thing Gus and Eleven planned and Hopper just brushed it off. If Hopper said no to Eleven, then he was sure as hell going to say no to Gus going to the Halloween party tonight.
"But right now, it's breakfast okay?" Hopper says. "Come on, you two. Let's eat." He places food on each plate.
"They wouldn't see me." Eleven states.
"Who wouldn't see you?" Hopper asks, grabbing all three plates. He walks over to the table and places the plates in each designated spot of the three.
"The bad men." Gus answers.
Hopper pulls his brows together. "What are you talking about?" He sits in his seat.
"Trick or treat." Eleven adds.
Hopper looks at Eleven for a moment, then at Gus. He slowly starts to understand what they're saying. "You want to go trick-or-treating?"
Eleven and Gus nod. Hopper let's out a deep sigh and stands up. "You know the rules."
"Yes, but—"
"Yeah, so you know the answer." Hopper cuts Eleven off.
"Hopper, they wouldn't see her." Gus urges. "Give her a chance! I can take her, then afterwards. I can go to the party—"
"I don't care." Hopper's voice was stern enough to make the two girls fall silent. "You go out there, ghost or not, it's a risk." He looks at Gus. "And you're not going to whatever party you're talking about—"
"What?! Hopper—"
"Hey, hey—I don't wanna hear it!"
Gus closes her mouth and swallows her arguments.
"We don't take risks. All right? They're stupid, and..."
Gus keeps her arms folded. Simultaneously, Eleven and Gus look at each other. Then they look back at Hopper.
"We're not stupid!" The sisters angrily chorus.
Hopper pulls his face back from their stern voices. "Exactly."
"Now, you take that off, both of you sit down and eat." Hopper orders. "Your food's getting cold."
Gus let's out a scoff with the word 'unbelievable' leaving her lips.
"You say something?" Hopper looks at the bob-haired girl.
Gus plops into her chair and sinks into it with her arms crossed. She runs a tongue across her teeth. "I'm not hungry."
Hopper raises his brows and chuckles. "Are you seriously pouting right now?"
Gus doesn't answer. Eleven rips the sheet off of her and drops it to the ground. She follows Gus in her silent anger with her arms crossed while sitting down. Hopper looks at both of the kids and sighs. "All right, look...how about I get off early tonight, and I buy us a bunch of candy, and we am sit around and get fat, and we watch a scary movie together?"
Gus raises her brows and bites her thumbnail in order to keep her smart comments to herself.
"How's that for a compromise?"
Eleven pulls her brows together. "Com—compromise?"
Gus looks at Eleven. "C-O-M-promise. Compromise." She instructs.
"How about that's your word for the day?" Hopper questions. "It's something that's kinda in-between. It's like halfway happy."
"By 5-1-5?" Eleven inquires.
"5:15. Yeah, sure." Hopper nods.
Eleven looks at Hopper. "Promise?"
Hopper slightly leans forward. "Yes. I promise."
Eleven's eyes soften and she shrugs. "Halfway happy." She starts to eat.
Hopper looks at the quiet teen. "You okay with that, August?"
The brunette wipes her nose. "I don't know—we'll see."
Hopper squints his eyes, "Gus—"
"I'm not going to the party." Gus raises her hands. "Promise."
☆
"Yo, Sofía!"
The girl turns to Gus. The teen raises her brows. "Have a good day, all right?"
Sofía smiles softly, "I will! You have a good day too!" She jogs through the parking lot of the high school and makes her way to the school middle school bulking. The girl pulls her brows together when she sees her four friends in costumes. Sofía slows her running into walking.
"Guys...?"
The four boys looks at her. Sofía raises her brows.
"Sofía, why aren't you wearing a costume?!" Dustin exclaims.
Sofía bunches her shoulders. "I'm poor."
Sofía presses her lips together. "Why are you guys wearing your costumes at school?" She snorts.
"What do you mean..." Dustin trails off his sentence, noticing no one else wearing costumes.
Sofía pulls her brows together, "Hey, there's two Venkmans."
Mike and Lucas look at each other, they both remember their previous argument. Both of them erupt in their arguing again. Sofía pulls her face back. She looks at Will, "Did I start something?"
Will shakes his head, "No, they were talking about this before you came. You just happened to spark the conversation again."
Sofía sighs and her shoulders sag. "Guys—I'm sure there can be two Venk—"
"There can't be two Venkmans!" Lucas and Mike chorus.
Sofía rolls her lips into her mouth to hide her amused smile.
"Guys...guys—Guys!"
Everyone looks at Dustin. "Why is no one else wearing costumes?"
Sofía looks at the bus that just arrived and she sighs softly. "Wow...I'm kind of glad I'm poor now." She pats Lucas' shoulder.
The four all walk into the class and go to their lockers. Sofía hears soft whispers next to her and she looks at Dustin and Lucas. Her eyes follow theirs and she looks at Max. There's that pressure in her chest again. Sofía does think that Lax was pretty cool. I mean, she skateboards, leaves messages in trash cans, and she wears vans (Gus also wore vans and she was the coolest person Sofía has ever met). Sofía would love to be Max's friend. But Dustin liked Max. And Sofía liked Dustin. Jealousy was a cruel thing.
She slams her locker shut as the bell rings. Sofía walks away from her friends as they still talk about Max. The girl walks down her hall with her books close to her chest. She then stops in her tracks, a chill shooting down her spine. Sofía swallows as her hearing goes in and out.
Her stomach turns and tears form in her eyes. She inhales a deep breath and it sounds like a wheeze. Sofía closes her eyes and her hands start to tremble to the point her books drop to the ground. I'm so alone.
No one was going to save her. She felt forgotten. Just like in the Upside Down. No one noticed her gone until Gus did. What if Gus never found out she was gone? Sofía would be dead. Just like Barb. And if she was dead no one would've missed her. No one. Sofía's knees start to shake.
A hand touches her arms and she's shot out of her episode. A loud gasp leaves her lips.
"Sofía?" Dustin looks at the young girl. Sofía's shaking brown eyes meet Dustin's. "D-D..." she exhales a sharp breath, not able to speak. Dustin slowly nods his head. "Okay, let me get you to the nurse's office, all right?"
He touches her hands and quickly pulls back from how cold they were. Sofía notices his instant pull back. "I'm sorry." She shakes.
"No—you have nothing to apologize." Dustin quickly shakes his head. He reaches for her hands again and gently pulls her up. Sofía stands up and looks around the empty halls paranoid. Dustin pulls his brows together. "Sof, you don't have to worry. It's only me here. I'm here for you."
Sofía wipes the tears from her face and nods her head. "O-Okay, thank you."
Dustin gives her a full-hearted smile and leads her to the nurses office.
...
"So, you're not going?"
Gus sighs. "I don't know. Hop said I couldn't and whatever he says goes, right?"
Fallon purses her lips, "You're asking me like I should answer that for you."
Gus leans against the lockers as Fallon opens hers. Fallon grabs her books and sighs. "Look, it's not like you've gone to any other parties before—why is this one so important?"
"Because tonight was going to be the night I...find the one." Gus looks at Fallon. The curly-haired girl pulls her brows. "The one? What does that mea—Oh my lord—you're talking about sex?!"
Gus rolls her lips into her mouth, trying not to smile. Fallon closes her locker. "Did you have someone in mind?"
Gus frowns, "Not really."
Fallon blinks. "So, what? You were just going to pick someone to lose your V-Card with?"
Gus presses her lips into a smile. "You are correct!"
The friends continue walking down the hall. "August Castillo-Hopper, I know you are a very impulsive person—and sometimes I admire that. But right now is not the case." Fallon shakes her head. Gus's mouth hangs open hearing her full name used. "You don't know if they have sexual diseases or if they're just a terrible person!"
Gus blinks. "Okay. You have a point..." she scratches her neck.
"I know, I do." Fallon nods. She slightly lifts her head and her eyes meet the ones of Billy Hargrove and her stomach violently twists.
"Hey, you're Gus, right?" Billy stops in front of the girls, causing them to stop as well. Gus raises her brows. "Yeah—how'd you know?" She asks.
Fallon keeps her eyes on the ground, the blood rushing through her ears. Billy smiles and tilts his head. "Well, Good ol' Fallon here showed me to my classes the other day and she talked all about you." He looks at the frozen girl.
Gus looks at Fallon and her smile becomes a confused one, when she notices Fallon not making eye contact. "Fal, you okay?" She touches her friend's arm.
Fallon looks at Gus. "I think I need to go to the bathroom."
Fallon goes to walk forward, but Billy steps in front of her. "Hey, Fallon, you coming to the party tonight?" He places an arm against the lockers. "I would hate to miss you."
"I-I—"
"She's busy." Gus steps in between Fallon and Billy, sensing her friend's discomfort. "Maybe some other time?"
Billy looks down at the Colombian girl and chuckles softly. He takes the toothpick out of his mouth. "Yeah, definitely some other time." He sends Gus a wink. Billy looks at Fallon and laughs, "I'll see you later, Fallon. It was great seeing you again."
Billy walks past Gus and Fallon. As soon as Billy was out of the vicinity so was the dark cloud over Fallon's heart. She exhales a deep and shaky breath. She leans against the lockers and touches her stomach. Gus looks at Fallon and pulls her brows together. "Dude, what is going on?" She searches Fallon's fearful eyes.
"Uh, I...I need to br-breathe..." Fallon inhales a deep breath. Gus slowly nods her head. "Okay, let's go to the bathroom." She ushers Fallon to the bathroom. Gus kicks the door open and all the girls snap their eyes over to the friends.
"Out now!" Gus orders.
The girls quickly walk past Fallon and Gus. The bob-haired girl claps her hands. "Let's go ladies—let's go! Get outta here!"
As soon as all the girls left the bathroom, Gus locks it. She turns to Fallon and sees the girl struggling to breathe. "Shit, Fallon!" Gus runs over to her and touches Fallon's arms. "Okay, Uh...breathe in and out. Come on—do it with me."
"In..." Gus breathes in and so does Fallon.
"And out..." Gus breathes out and Fallon follows.
They continue to breathe in and out until Fallon's chest untightens and her vision clears. She leans against the wall and slides down the floor. Gus watches as Fallon places her hands against her forehead and she softly cries. The bob-haired girl crouches in front of Fallon, a lump forming in her throat.
"Fal..." Gus gently grabs Fallon's hands. "...when did you start getting panic attacks?"
Fallon's breathing continues to shake. "Since forever." She admits. "I've always had them under control, my dad would help me with them. But he isn't around anymore so..." she shrugs. "...I'm all alone."
Gus gnaws on her lower lip. "Did something happen between you and Billy?"
Fallon's skin crawls. She stays silent and Gus' eyes water. "Fallon, you can talk to me, okay?" She forces a small smile. "Whatever happened, we can figure it out together. Like always."
Fallon cries even harder. She lifts her head up and her teary eyes meet Gus'. "It...happened when I was showing him his classes..."
☆
"BILLY HARGROVE!!!"
Each person in the school hallway turns their attention to the corduroy jacket-wearing girl. Her eyes shift side to side, searching for the new kid. Everyone instantly recognized the girl's angered walk. Her combat boots were squeaking against the tiled floor with every aggressive step she took forward. After Fallon told Gus what Billy did to her, the bob-haired girl quickly lost her friend in a crowd of people when looking for the new kid. No one was going to stop Gus from the sudden wave of anger she was going to beat into Billy. No one.
"Gus?"
The brunette quickly stops in her tracks as soon as the brunette boy stands in front of her. "What?" she snaps, her eyes scanning the halls.
"Why are you looking for the new kid?" Steve asks. He squints his eyes noticing Gus tapping her fingers against her thighs. "Did he do something to you?"
Gus lets out a huff and snaps her eyes over to him. "Not me. Fallon."
Steve pulls his brows together, "But...everyone loves Fallon--"
"Yeah, well not him. So, I'm gonna kick his ass." Gus goes to walk past Steve, but he steps in front of her again with his hands on her shoulders.
"Uh, maybe we should think about this first, right?" Steve raises his brows.
Gus squints her eyes, "You don't think I thought about this?" she questions. Steve's eyes slightly widen and he opens his mouth. "Well--"
"I thought about this, Harrington!" Gus snaps. "I thought about how I'm gonna cut his dick off and shove it so far up his ass he'll be coughing up sem--"
"August!"
Gus tilts her head to the ceiling. "Ah, shit!"
Fallon tries her best to run down the hall, but her lilac purple pumps were slowing her down. "I cannot believe you would leave me like that." she seethes as soon as she stands next to Steve and Gus. She looks at the boy and pulls her brows together, "Steve, what's up?"
"I'm trying to stop Gus from beating up Billy," Steve informs her.
Fallon looks at the brunette, "August--"
"He can't just get away with it, Fal." Gus cuts her friend off, her tone was now impatient.
Steve looks between both friends, a gut-wrenching tension between them. "Look, you're already not graduating with your class because of what happened at the track--"
"Which is complete bullshit, because Carol deserved it!" Gus snaps. "And that racist piece of shit deserves what's coming to him."
Steve cranes his neck forward, "Racist?" he looks between the two girls.
Fallon looks away from the boy and Gus arches a brow.
"Why the hell are we not letting Gus beat the shit out of him?" Steve asks.
Gus points at Steve and looks at Fallon, "Thank you!"
"Because it's not right!" Fallon snaps. "We hurt him and then what? Suddenly he just stops being Prejudiced?" she lets out a chuckle. "Things don't get solved by violence."
"Violence catches people's attention, Fal." Gus states. "Enough attention to make a change."
"Or violence catches enough attention to label you into someone negative." Fallon snaps her eyes over to Gus.
The short-haired brunette slightly pulls her face back. "Yeah? And what's that supposed to mean?"
"Okay, guys, I personally think--"
"It doesn't matter what you think!" The girls snap.
Steve closes his mouth and looks at the ground. Gus looks back at Fallon and raises her brows, waiting for her to speak.
"You said we were going to figure this out. Together." Fallon exhales. "God—next time I'm not listening to Robin—"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Gus waves her hands. "What are you talking about?—Robin told you to tell me?"
Gus then raises her brows. "You told Robin before you told me?!"
Steve frowns. Who's Robin?
Fallon shakes her head. "I can't believe that's your question. Out of everything that's happening—that is your question."
"Did you not trust me with this or something?" Gus asks.
"Let it go—"
"No!"
Fallon scratches the top of her brow and she exhales sharply. "August, I love you." She looks at her friend. "But, when you want to protect the people you care about...you tend to not think about the consequences after."
Steve inhales a breath and holds it. He looks at the short-haired brunette, waiting for her reaction. Gus presses her lips into a firm line and exhales through her nose. Her face starts to get hot. She hated when people were right about her negative attributes.
"Gus—this is a different situation, all right?" Fallon presses her hands together. "This is you and I against Billy. And for people like Billy, this world works in their favor. Not ours."
Fallon grabs a strand of her curly hair and starts to twist it around her finger. "Look, if we get into trouble...we won't be immediately forgiven like him. I mean, you know that—you understand. We'll be labeled and...hated--more hated than we already are."
"I can't have you hurting people for me."
The whole reason Fallon and her family moved from D.C. was because they wanted to get out the public eye. They were a family of activists and that meant people, who didn't agree with them would have vendettas. So, they moved and her parents got the best jobs that people would respect. And Fallon got the greatest grades and perfect attendance, so people wouldn't make stereotypical assumptions about her. It got stressful for the Price family. Pretending to be the perfect family. But that was something that had to be done. But ever since Greg's affair. That image has slowly begun to crack.
"I'm sorry."
Fallon and Steve look at the girl.
"You're right. I don't think before I act and...that gets people hurt." Gus shakes her head. "You're my best friend, Fallon. And I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking about you."
Gus exhales a soft breath, "I'll do better."
Fallon presses her shaky lips together and she manages a weak smile. "I love you."
Gus wraps her arms around Fallon's neck and pulls her into a warm embrace. "I love you too, Fal."
Fallon inhales a shaky breath and tears prick her eyes. Steve looks around the halls, "Now, this--this was nice, right?"
Gus and Fallon look at Steve with their arms still around each other.
"Oh, you're still here." Gus pulls away from the hug and straightens out her crewneck. Steve's shoulders slump. The brunette looks at Fallon, "We can't beat him up, but we can definitely give him a...stern talking to, right?"
Fallon watches as Gus presses her hands together, practically begging. The curly-haired girl's face relaxes and she presses her lips together. "Yeah, we can do that."
"Good. Because I was gonna curse him out whether you agreed or not." Gus turns on her heel and walks down the hall with Fallon.
"Uh--do you need my help or--"
"No."
Steve slightly opens his mouth then he presses his lips into a firm line. "Right--okay..."
Gus interlocks her arm with Fallon's as she turns the corner to another hallway. Her eyes spot the mullet-wearing boy and her upper lip curls. She quickens her walk and Fallon's breath catches in her throat, noticing how fast they were approaching Billy. "Gus, I don't think I can--"
Too late.
Gus stands beside Billy as he looks through his locker. "New kid," she calls out, knocking on the door to his locker. Billy looks out of his locker and his eyes land on the two girls. "Just the ladies I wanted to see." he closes his locker and leans against it with a smirk. "How are my two girls?--"
"I don't want you talking to Fallon anymore." Gus cuts off Billy's words. The boy raises his brows and slightly looks down at the shorter girl.
"I beg your pardon?"
"I'm not going to repeat myself, all right?" Gus rolls her eyes. She looks back at him, her fiery hazel green eyes challenging his icy blue ones. "You ever touch her again, look at her with that conniving bigoted look in your blue shitty eyes and I will curb stomp you so hard you're teeth'll fall out, kay?"
Billy keeps his eyes on Gus for a moment with a straight face. Then he tilts his head back and laughs, not afraid of the threat. Gus arches a brow and turns her head to look at her nervous friend, who looked like she was going to be sick.
"You're cute for someone who doesn't belong here."
Fallon's eyes widen and she snaps her eyes over to Gus. The bob-haired girl lets out a bitter chuckle, her heartbeat starting to increase. "Do you mind explaining that statement, trailer trash?"
Fallon lets out a soft laugh and slaps a hand over her mouth. Billy's jaw clenches and he takes a step toward Gus, practically towering over her. Gus tilts her chin up and meets his eyes, not an ounce of fear on her face. "Problem, William?"
Billy shakes his head and a chuckle escapes his lips. Gus frowns and slowly nods her head. "Thought so." she turns on her heel and looks at Fallon. "Let's go, Fal." she grabs Fallon's hand and starts to walk down the hall with her.
"So, how'd I do?" Gus looks at Fallon.
Fallon slowly nods her head, "Good, good--I'm proud of you." she inhales. "I think I'm gonna be sick, but you did well."
Gus softly smiles, but her smile was quickly cut short, when she felt a harsh hand grip her wrist. The brunette is yanked back toward the blonde and Fallon's eyes widen. Gus smirks and raises her brows, "Billy boy finally found some words in his vocabulary to tell share with me." she looks back at Fallon.
"You snarky bitch." Billy growls pulling her close. "Do you have any idea how beneath me you people are--"
Suddenly a fist rams against his jaw and he stumbles to the side, letting Gus' wrist go. Gus' eyes widen and she turns to her friend, who had her fist raised. "Fallon!"
Fallon blinks and she suddenly feels her hand start to throb. "Ow, ow, ow..." she shakes her hand. "I think I broke my hand--"
"That's my girl!" Gus laughs. She turns back to Billy, who was gripping his chin and leaning against the wall. "Cat got your tongue, William?"
"August Castillo and Fallon Price!"
The two girl's turn to the principal standing down the hall. Gus slumps her shoulders, "How does she manage to show up at the worse possible times for us?"
"My office now!"
☆
"I can't believe you got detention..."
Gus lets out a soft chuckle and eats her ice cream. "I can't believe you punched the new kid."
Fallon looks down at her bright red knuckles. "Yeah, my mom would get pissed."
"Which is why I took the fall for it." Gus holds a hand up.
Fallon bites the inside of her cheek. "You didn't have to do that," she admits. "I should take responsibility for my own actions."
Gus nods her head, "You should...but right now you're busy trying to figure out your whole future. Which I think is insane. Anyway, I decided to take some of the load off of you and Cynthia for a second."
Fallon lets out a breath and raises her brows. "I still can't believe you and my mom are cool now." she wrinkles her nose. "And you call her by her first name."
"Only because she told me to." Gus holds her hands up.
Fallon chuckles and looks down at her ice cream. "I've gotta say...getting sent home early has its perks."
"Right?!" Gus stands in front of Fallon, while she walks backward. "Makes you wanna punch more people, huh?"
Fallon rolls her lips into her mouth, to contain her smile. But she ends up failing and her smile widens. She lets out a small giggle and Gus' smile grows as well. "Yes!--Oh My God, I felt like this rush go through me."
Gus softly laughs and Fallon joins her. "I can't believe I used the way of the words and you used the way of the fist." she shakes her head.
Fallon grabs Gus' arm and pulls her back to her side. She then loops her arm around Gus' and lets out a sigh of contentment. "Welcome to the Twilight Zone, Guster."
"We might be here awhile."
Gus wrinkles her nose, "But...I don't wanna keep using words--I wanna fight."
...
Sofía keeps her eyes on her homework and swings her legs. She was laying on her bottom bunk while Tori was laying on the top, listening to music with her headphones booming. The boys invited her to Halloween but sadly, Sofía didn't have any money to scrap anything up, so there was nothing she could really do for herself. The girl decided to just stay home and work on her homework.
A knock was heard at the door. "Tori." The girl calls out. Tori quietly hums and bang's her pencil against her homework papers. Sofía lifts her head up and looks at the top bunk. She lets out a frustrated breath and gets off her bed. Sofía walks over to the door and opens it. Sofía raises her brows, "Hi, Ms. Gretchen."
"Hello, girls? Everyone working on their homework?"
Sofía smiles, "Yeah, Tori and I..." she turns to her bunkmate and sees her drumming to the beat of her song that was blasting through her headphones.
"...well, I am working on my homework."
"I have a surprise for you." Gretchen smiles with her hands behind her back. Sofía raises her brows, "Really?"
Gretchen pulls the clothing out from behind her back and Sofía's eyes widen. "Really?!" She squeals, grabbing the costume. "Wait, but we don't have a money—"
"I made this myself, it's okay." Gretchen smiles.
Sofía's smile widens. "Oh My Gosh—Ms. Gretchen, thank you so much!" She wraps her arms around Gretchen. The lady laughs and wraps her arms around the young girl.
"I know how much you wanted to go." Gretchen pulls away from the hug and puts some of Sofía's hair behind her shoulder. "Okay, Jonathan and Will are outside right now waiting for you."
Sofía opens and closes her mouth. "Wait—what?"
"Yes! Now, go get into your costume!" Gretchen urges the girl. Sofía makes her way out of the room, while saying many 'okay's' as she left. Tori pulls her brows together and takes her headphones off. "What's going on?"
Ms. Gretchen looks at the girl. "I just gave Sofía the costume I made for her." She raises her brows. "Are you going trick or treating too?"
Tori let out a laugh. "No thank you. I'm fine listening to music by myself, thank you though."
...
"You're...sneaking out?"
Gus turns to Eleven. "I wouldn't necessarily call it...sneaking out." She tilts her head side to side. "I'll be back before Hopper gets home. He'll never know."
Eleven tilts her head, "You promised, August."
The bob-haired girl tilts her head to the ceiling and covers her face. "El, think of this as a sister's secret."
Eleven crosses her arms and Gus slightly pulls her face back. The teen scoffs and crosses her arms. "What's with the attitude?"
"I learned it from you." Eleven bites.
Gus raises her brows and smiles proudly. "I don't know if I should be proud or annoyed..." she gnaws on her lower lip. "What if...I..." she sighs sharply. "...buy you Eggos?"
Eleven doesn't react.
"The ones with chocolate chips in them?"
Eleven raises her brows, waiting for the deal to sweeten.
"And I will make them for you anytime I want," Gus adds. "You call me from school and I will drive back and make them for you—school be damned!"
Eleven smiles. "You promise?"
Gus holds her pinky out to her sister. "I promise."
Eleven interlocks their pinkies. She looks over Gus' costume. Gus was wearing long sleeve white shirt tucked into her blue denim jeans. She had black boots over her jeans. She had a black leather belt on and a thigh holster wrapped around her leg.
Eleven slightly tilts her chin up. "Han Solo."
Gus' eyes light up, "I have taught you so well," she wraps her arms around Eleven and pulls her into a warm embrace. Eleven smiles and hugs her sister back.
