chapter two , Knowing You
━━━━━━━━━━
Something hits Mia's head and she jolts awake and feels her hangover affect her. She groans in pain and opens her eyes, and sits up. "What the fuck?" She whines at her brother. "You're going to be late, The Maid cooked breakfast and...take a shower, you smell like shit shat on shit." Bryce walks out of her room and Mia lays back down on her back and groans. Mia turns the shower on and looks in the mirror and inspects her image.
She notices the deep bags under her eyes, her red eyes, her tangled brown hair, and her pail sweaty skin. She runs her hands down her face and groans. "Fucking hate school..." She mumbles as she gets into the warm shower. Once she changes into sweatpants and a sweatshirt. She walks into her room and grabs her bag something falls on the floor and she looks at the cigarette pack and her mind goes off into another place.
Flashback
Mia looks at Bryce's cards and curses, "I fold," She says quietly. Bryce claps his hands together and laughs. "And you said you were better--"
"Shut up, you just want my money, you ass-hat--"
"Language, and it's not your money it's my money," Her dad corrects her. Mia sits back in her chair, "Sorry father," She says with a fake smile. She rolls her eyes once her dad leaves the room. She bites the inside of her cheek and looks at Bryce. "one more time?" Mia raises her brows.
Bryce sighs and grabs the cards, "Alright, yeah."
The doorbell echoed throughout the house and Barry opens the door and is greeted by his best friend. "John!" He yells with a laugh. "Barry! What's going on?" They hug and walk into the house. "Are you sure it's okay for me to live here?" John asks. Barry waves his hand around, "Of course, whatever you want, I can give it to you,"
"I raise you double your amount," Mia says.
Bryce looks at her like she's stupid. Mia inhales and looks at her cards. John walks over to them, "Hey, Young-ins what's going on with you two?" He touches the back of Mia's chair, but she keeps her eyes on the game.
"Just...ya know...playing poker," Mia shrugs her shoulders. "Alright well," John rummages through his jacket pockets and looks around to see that Barry or Nora aren't there. He places the cigarette pack in the middle. "Let's play for something more...exciting," He says.
Mia snorts, "Sorry John, but no one does that kind of stuff here, but my dad and Bryce smoke sometimes, but only Cuban Cigars." Mia mocks them.
"Oh, screw you!" Bryce says with a laugh. Mia wrinkles her nose in amusement. John looks at her cards and smirks. "Okay, well..." Bryce lays his cards down and John winces. "Ooh...a flush," He says.
Mia runs her tongue over her teeth, "Well then, I guess that I'll have to..." Mia places her cards down.
"Show you my Full House!" She yells and raises her arms in happiness. "Oh no, fu--freaking way!" Bryce says in disbelief. Mia stands up and high-fives John. He hugs her tightly and she raises her brows in surprise. "Oh...Okay..." She pats his back as he keeps holding onto her.
"I can't breathe, John..." She chuckles. Bryce knits his brows together. John lets her go, "Oh, I'm sorry," he laughs. Mia gives him a small smile. "Don't worry about it," She places her hands in her back pockets as John goes to unpack.
She turns around and grabs the cigarette pack. "I think Uncle John is in love with you," Bryce observes. Mia scoffs, "Ew, Bryce that's disgusting don't even joke like that," She says looking at him in disgust.
"Whatever..." Bryce looks at Mia looking at the cigarette pack. "I thought you said that you don't do things like that?" He asks. Mia looks at him unamused, but a few seconds later she snorts and Bryce laughs loudly.
Present
Mia inhales and grabs the pack of cigarettes and places them in her sweatshirt pocket. She walks down the stairs and grabs a piece of toast. Bryce looks at her while he's eating the waffles. "She made breakfast--"
"Thank you for the breakfast, but I'll have to decline. I have detention," She lies as she walks away. Bryce raises his brows, "For what?"
Mia looks at him and smiles, "Let's see...everything?" She says in a question and runs out of the house. Bryce shrugs his shoulders, "Whatever, she's missing out on some good shit,"
==========
Mia grabs her bag and walks out of the bathroom stall. She hears someone clear their throats and she turns around and looks at Sheri. "Yes?" She questions.
"Sorry, it's just. You didn't wash your hands after you, went to the bathroom." Sherri states. Mia knits her brows together, "But I didn't go to the bat--" Mia stops talking and nods her head. "You're right, I should always remember, thanks. Sherri." She says with a fake smile. Sherri nods her head, "No problem, girl."
Sherri dries her hands off and Mia washes hers. "We miss you, in cheerleading. We have a game coming up maybe you can--"
"I have more important things than cheering for guys in shorts trying to make baskets," Mia snaps. Sherri stops talking and nods her head. "Right..." She says quietly. Mia dries her hands off and walks out of the bathroom While wiping her nose. As she walks down the hall she bumps into someone and groans. "Sorry..." She looks at the person and inhales. "Clay, what's up?" She asks him. He looks at her and shakes his head, "Nothing...you?" He asks her back. Mia shrugs her shoulders, "Nothing, what happened to your head?" She asks him.
Clay opens his mouth and chuckles, "I was riding my bike and a branch hit me." He says. Mia nods her head, "Must've been an angry branch," She states. Clay laughs, "uh yeah..it was..." they both walk to their class together as they keep having their basic friend conversations.
They sit down at their desks. "Hey. Where the hell is Justin?" Jessica asks.
"I don't know, Jess." Zach answers.
"You don't know?" Jessica gets slightly louder.
"Probably just skipping first, sleeping in," Zach shrugs his shoulders.
"Did he ride with you guys today?" Jessica tries to get more answers out of Zach. Mia groggily pulls out her notes pretending to get ready for the class when she's just going to go to sleep and ride her Euphoria.
"No," Zach answers.
"So where is he, Marcus?" Jessica turns to him.
Marcus shrugs his shoulders, "Did you see him last night?" Jessica asks.
"Yeah, yeah, he was at practice," Zach answers.
"Then why won't he answer my calls or texts?" Jessica keeps prying.
"I'm sure he will be there--"
"Oh, you're sure. Thanks, Marcus." Jessica says sarcastically. "Mr. Porter wants to see me now. He left a call slip in my homeroom." Jessica finishes before the teacher tells her to get to class.
Jessica turns and makes eye contact with the bloodshot Mia. She looks at Clay, "What you listening to, Clay?" Jessica scoffs and walks out of the classroom. Mia raises her brows and blows air out of her mouth, "And people say I have problems..." Mia whispers as she lays her head down and goes to sleep.
Flashback
Mia walks into Monet's and looks up from her phone and around the cafe. She sees Hannah waving and she smiles, "Mamma Mia!" Hannah yells. Mia laughs as she's gotten used to the nickname. She sits down and looks at the person sitting across from Hannah. "Whoa, who is this?" Mia asks intrigued.
"This is Jezebel," Hannah says. Mia raises her brows, "But if you really want to get on her nerves. You should call her Jessica," Hannah says in a whisper. Mia opens her mouth, "So this is the person that you told me about," Mia says with even more interest. "Well, I'm--"
"Mia Walker," Jessica says. Mia nods her head, "Yeah...you know me?" She asks.
"Nope, but Hannah told me about you," Jessica answers. Mia and Jessica look at each other for a few moments. They both then look at Hannah. "Hannah I'm so flattered!" They both say at the same time while over dramatically fanning themselves. Hannah rolls her eyes, "Ha Ha...sorry for having interests," Hannah holds her hands up in a surrendered way.
Present
The bell rings and Mia jolts awake as she feels a hand on her shoulder. "Mia?"
She looks up at the boy and sighs, "Hey, Clay...is class over?" She asks him. He nods his head and she wipes her face. She puts her things back in her bag and Clay looks at how slow she's moving. "Are you sure you're...okay?" He asks her. Mia slings her bag over her shoulder and sighs. "I'm fine, Clay. You don't have to worry about me, I promise." She says with a fake smile.
Clay wanted to keep pressing, but he knew how fragile she was right now and he couldn't. He nods his head and gives her a small smile. She walks out of the classroom and bumps into someone once again. Mia groans and holds her head from her pounding headache. "Shit!" She yells.
She looks at Jessica and sighs, "Sorry," Mia mumbles as she grabs her bag from the ground. "I-I-It's fine..." Jessica says like she's stressed. Mia notices this and squints her eyes, "What's up with you?" Mia asks.
Jessica exhales and looks at her weirdly, "Don't pretend that you don't know," She scoffs. Mia raises her brows, "okay, I just thought that I would try to at least be nice to some people. But...I'll just fucking check that off my list," Mia says with sarcasm. Jessica looks back at Mia with suspicion.
"Wait, so you actually don't--but the tapes haven't you...?" Jessica quickly stops talking and walks away from her. Mia raises her brows and rolls her eyes, "Whatever...I guess..." Mia walks away and towards the bathroom, but someone stops her. "Miss. Walker--"
"Mia," She corrects the counselor. He nods his head, "My apologies, would you like to come to my office?" He asks her. Mia shakes her head, "No, not really. But..." Mia looks up at the ceiling as she hears the bell ring. "I don't want to go to class so..." She motions her head forward and follows Mr. Porter back to his office. Mia looks at the receptionist and nods her head.
"Mia, welcome back!" The receptionist says. Mia gives her a fake smile, "Receptionist Lady...always a pleasure," Mia says as she walks into Mr. Porter's office. She sits down and slides down into the seat. Mr. Porter sits in front of her and places his hands together. "Mia, I would like to...talk to you, about...everything that has happened with you, if that's alright?" He asks her.
Mia crosses her arms and looks at him with annoyance, "I mean...go right ahead, Mr. Porter," She insists.
"Alright well, Me and...the rest of the school have noticed that not just your wardrobe, but your personality and actions have changed after...the passing of Hannah Baker," He says.
Mia balls her fists in anger, "You're wrong..." Mia mumbles.
"E-Excuse me?" He asks her.
Mia wipes her nose and looks at him. "I said that you're fucking wrong," She slightly raises her voice. Mr. Porter notices her anger starting to build up, "Miss Walker if we could just calm down--"
"Everything's changed since Jeff died! Not Hannah!" She yells at him.
"Okay, so Hannah pushed you over the edge--"
"No! I'm not even o-over the edge yet. You'll know when I am though," Mia says as she stands up and walks away. She slams the door behind her and runs her hands down her face. She runs her hands over her ponytail and sniffles. She walks to the bathroom and goes into the stall. She opens her bag and grabs her pills. She looks down at them and starts to crush them. She grabs her debit card and lines it up.
She rummages through her pocket, and grabs a small tube, and uses it to inhale her crushed pills. She exhales with satisfaction. A knock is heard on her stall and she quietly curses. She places her pills back into her bag and she throws the other ones in the toilet and flushes the toilet.
She flushes it and wipes her nose and her eyes. She opens the stall and passes the person that knocked on the stall. "Mia? Are you--"
"I'm fine," She cuts the girl off. Sheri walks up to Mia and touches her hand and Mia flinches. "The fuck are you doing?" Mia hisses. Sheri opens her mouth, "I-I-I was just trying to comfort you--"
"Why? You think I need your friendship?!" Mia says stepping closer to you. Sheri steps back in fear. "M-M-Mia...I-I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to--"
"You know I have PTSD? Huh? So you touching me would like...I don't know trigger me! So don't fucking do it AGAIN, GOT IT!" Mia adjusts her bag on her shoulder and shoves past Sheri before she could answer. Mia wipes her nose and sniffles. She wipes her eyes to keep her tears from leaving her eyes. "Fuck...Fuck!" She yells.
She looks at the exit to the school and she scoffs, "Fuck this," She says and leaves the school

Flashback
"That top is perfect for you," Hannah says. Mia looks at Jessica's top and smiles, "that would look so cute on you!" Mia says. "It shows too much of my arms. They're so fat." Jessica shoves the shirt back into the bag. Mia scoffs, "Okay, then the shirt would not look cute on you as well..." Mia drinks some of her hot chocolate and Jessica laughs.
"But seriously, you're arms are not fat," Hannah says. Jessica looks at Hannah then Mia who is furiously nodding her head in agreement to Hannah.
"I have substitute Teacher arms," Jessica says. Mia laughs quietly.
"Uh Oh. We've got a stalker," Hannah says. Mia looks around intrigued and spots the blonde man looking at them. Mia licks her lips and smiles, "Three o'clock," Mia says.
Jessica looks at Mia, "it's after three," Jessica answers. Mia snorts, "No, three o'clock. Directional," Mia says.
Jessica cluelessly looks at the two girls. "Oh my god, your dad is a fighter pilot," Hannah states.
"He's a logistics expert, mostly," Jessica replies.
Hannah sighs, "Look over there," She says. The three girls look at the blonde boy. He quickly looks at his menu. Mia opens her mouth, "He's checking you out," Hannah says to Jessica. Jessica shakes her head, "No, you and he's cute,"
Jessica and Hannah look at each other and smirk. They both turn to Mia, "He's checking you out," They both say. The three girls laugh. "Ladies, even if he was checking me out, I'm spoken for but...he his cute," Mia says with a smile.
"He's alone," Hannah says.
"So?" Mia and Jessica ask.
"So that means he doesn't have any friends. That's weird." Hannah answers. Mia snorts, "Jessica didn't have any friends two weeks ago and you hung out with Clay sometimes and Me...all the time, that's fucking boring." Mia drinks some of her hot chocolate as Jessica and Hannah laugh.
They all walk over to the blonde boy and sit in front of him and just stare.
He looks at the three girls, "Um...Hey." He says.
"Hey,"
"Hey,"
"Howdy," Mia says. Jessica and Hannah look at her and she clears her throat. "Hey," She changes her introduction.
"We saw you staring at us and wondered which one of us you were checking out," Jessica answers.
"Oh, I wasn't." He answers.
"Oh come on, don't play dumb," Jessica says. "Do we look dumb?" Jessica adds.
"No. I mean, no." He answers.
"Have you ever heard of the male gaze?" Hannah asks.
"The...? No." He says with confusion.
"Well, we have," Hannah retorts.
"And we're not totally sure what it means, but you have it," Mia adds.
He chuckles nervously.
"You should at least explain why you're sitting alone," Hannah says
"My friend thinks that makes you weird," Mia answers.
"Are you weird?" Jessica asks.
"Well, I can't objectively answer that "weird" thing, but i'm sitting alone 'cause I just moved here. I don't know anybody," He answers to her.
"What's your name?" Mia asks.
"It's Alex. Alex Standall," He answers.
"Okay, Alex Alex Standall...we are prepared to invite you to our table if you answer one question," Hannah says as she points at a painting.
"What is depicted on the giant painting they just hung on that wall?"
"Uh. It's a...giant bleeding man? Or squid. Or man-squid. Uh...in spring," He answers.
The three girls look at each other and nod their heads. "Good enough, you're in," Hannah answers.
"Okay. Thanks uh, what am I in, exactly?" He asks.
Mia scoffs, "If you have to ask, you don't know,"
Alex blinks. "But...that's why I asked."
Mia then blinks, "Oh...huh."
Present
A car honks and Mia snaps out of her memory and looks at the car. "Get out of the way!" they yell. Mia walks out of the street and her phone rings. She looks at it and groans.
"What is it, Bryce?" She asks annoyed.
"Where the fuck are you?" He asks. Mia looks at her feet and looks around, "In the town...somewhere..." She says as she closes one eye to avoid the sun's gaze.
"You're not in fucking school? Mia, mom is calling me and telling me and getting pissed that you've been missing school. Just imagine what dad is going to do--"
"What? What is he going to do? Let one of his friends rape me?" She questions. Silence overcomes the phone call. "Mia--"
"Whatever, tell them if they really did care about me they would actually be here right fucking now," She hangs up the phone and keeps walking to wherever.
Flashback
"Females!" Alex says with relief. Mia, Jessica, and Hannah turn and look at him. "Male!" Mia says with a smile.
"I have concluded that this school sucks!" Alex says. Mia pouts her lip, "Except for you guys," He adds.
"We fully support your conclusions," Jessica says. She points at Mia, "Except for Miss Walker over here who is...popular," She whispers the last part to Hannah and Alex. Mia hears and opens her mouth, "Just because I'm...' popular' doesn't mean this school doesn't suck," Mia says with a smile. Jessica chuckles.
"Let's discuss this in our office this afternoon," Hannah says, they all agree and walk down the hall.
"Wait, our office?' Jessica questions. Mia snorts, "My god. Monet's," Hannah answers.
"Oh, right. I love it," Jessica says.
"F.M.L," Alex says. Mia tilts her head, "Why? What happened?" She asks.
"I got put into remedial math because my math from my old school is not the same math they have here. Who knew that there was different math?" Alex explains.
"I bet there's a hot troubled bad boy in remedial math. He broods, he wears leather, he's got a past he doesn't talk about, and trouble with long division." Jessica says.
Alex looks at her weirdly, "There are a couple of pregnant girls,"
"Will your parents freak? My dad would freak." Hannah says.
"Yeah, my mom might, but my dad's a cop, so as long as I stand up straight and pass P.E., go shooting with him--"
"Wait, your dad's a cop? And you go shooting with him? With guns? How did I not know about this?" Mia asks and Jessica nodding her head interested as well.
"You never asked, I guess," Alex says.
"I love a man in uniform. I would like to meet your father," Jessica says.
Alex cringes, "Ew, and your dad wears a uniform," Alex states.
"Oh, yea. I never thought about that," Jessica drinks some of her hot chocolate. Mia, Alex, and Hannah all exchange looks and smile at each other.
Present
Mia's phone rings and she slowly looks down at it and sees her mom calling. She answers it and places the phone to her ear. "Hello?" She asks.
"Oh thank god! Mia, Why aren't you at school?! Bryce doesn't even know where you a--"
"I'm at home don't worry, mom," She says nonchalantly. Nora exhales, "Don't worry? How could I not worry?! Your father and I leave for a while and you fly off the handles--"
"I just didn't feel like doing any of that school shit today--"
"Language! Young lady! You were not raised in a barn!" Nora raises her voice.
"Well, I was raised in this house by dad so...close enough, right?" She says with a tight-lipped smile. Nora becomes quiet on the phone, "Are you taking your pills?" Nora asks.
Mia rolls her eyes, "Yes, I am and I need a refill on my prescription by the way--"
"I already refilled it before I left," Nora cuts her off.
"You're right, but...you've been gone for a while now so...just call in and I'll pick it up okay? Thanks," Mia hangs up the phone and lays down. She looks next to her and sees Hannah for a second. She squeezes her eyes shut and opens them again and sees no one.
She sits up and walks out of the house and towards the pool house. She opens the door and sees Justin playing the game. She chuckles and sits on the couch next to him. "Ow, the fuck?" He says.
"Oh stop whining!" She says as she grabs the bong. He scoffs and keeps playing the game.
She inhales the fumes and holds it in and swallows it. She exhales and the smoke leaves her mouth. "Why aren't you at school?" He asks her.
Mia side eyes him, "You know I could ask you the same thing and you wouldn't answer my question so...why would I answer yours?" She asks with a smirk.
Justin nods his head, "Good point," He says never taking his eyes off the screen. Mia chuckles and inhales the fumes again. Mia sits back and closes her eyes.
The door opens again, Zach and Marcus walk in. "Yo man," Zach says. He sees Mia sitting on the couch as well and he looks at the two teens.
"You guys okay?" He asks them.
Mia scoffs, "Fuck you, am I okay," they reply at the same time.
"What are you, my bitch now?" Justin asks. Mia laughs quietly as she feels the drug hitting her now.
"Close the frickin' door," Mia says slurring.
"Hey, Jessica's looking for you," Marcus says. "She looks bad," He adds.
"Yeah, she has for a while now," Justin says and Mia laughs.
"You gonna talk to her?" Zach asks.
"And say what?" Justin asks.
"Tell her to get her shit together. She's acting like a nut job, drawing attention to herself." Marcus says. Mia knits her brows together at their conversation.
"And you," Zach adds.
Justin looks at them for a second and goes back to the game. "Not me, I ain't there." He says carelessly.
Mia looks at the two boys and frowns, "What are you guys talking about?"
Zach and Marcus exchange looks, "Nothing that concerns you," Marcus snaps.
Mia inhales sharply, "You've got an attitude, what's got your panties in a bunch?" She asks him with interests.
"Nothing--NOTHING!" He rubs his face and Mia frowns again.
"That's it, you two need to chill." Mia says.
She stands up and carries the bong with her, "Go on...Justin get up and let them play," Mia orders.
Justin looks at her with annoyance, she raises her eyebrows and he groans and stands up. He snatches the bong out of her hand before she could hit it again.
"Hey!--"
"If I have to make them play the game then the least you could do is let me hit it," He says.
Mia pouts her lip and folds her arms.
After he's done hitting it, he hands it to her and she smiles. "Thank you," She says.
Justin puts food in the microwave and she hits the bong again and coughs. "So...why are you actually not in school, Mia?" Justin asks.
Mia looks at him with sad eyes and inhales, "I can't go to that fucking school after everything I've been through...I keep seeing their faces play over and over in my head and the only way to make it stop is--"
"Taking as much stuff as you can to make yourself black out?" Justin says.
Mia nods her head, "Yeah and...I haven't been able to tell anyone because, well...you've been around long enough to know my family," She chuckles.
Justin nods his head, "Sadly--"
"Fuck you," She says with a smile. Justin laughs, "I haven't seen you smile in awhile," He says.
Mia nods her head, "Haven't heard you laugh in a while." She retorts.
She hands him the bong and he accepts it and hits it again.
The microwave beeps and he opens it. Someone knocks on the door and Justin looks at Mia.
She shrugs her shoulders as Justin looks at Zach and Marcus. "It's all you, bro," Zach answers.
They continue playing the game and Justin looks at Mia with a pleading look. She chuckles and grabs the bong and hits it again. Justin groans and goes to the door to open it, revealing his very angry girlfriend.
"You are such a fucking asshole!" She shoves him back. Mia raises her brows and coughs.
"How could you do that to me?! What did you tell him?!" Jessica yells at him and keeps shoving.
Mia exchanges looks with Marcus and Zach. "What did I tell who?"
"Mr. Porter! What did you tell him yesterday? and Why haven't you been at school?!" Jessica yells.
"I just needed a day to chill--"
"The day after you talk to Porter, you need a day off?! You're not telling me something!" Jessica yells.
"What would I not be telling you?" Justin asks. Silence fills the pool house and Jessica looks at Zach and Marcus. She turns to Mia and Mia inhales.
"This is hella awkward. The vibe in here is all serious now and I...bye." She says as she leaves the pool house and struggles to walk in a straight line. She feels her legs give out and she falls in the pool face first and slowly starts to sink.
She wants to fight for her life, but she just lays there allowing the water to fill her lungs. 'Fuck it,' She says in her mind.
"Clay has the tapes now," Jessica says.
Justin looks at her, "I know. Don't worry about it,"
"He's not like the rest of us. He could say something,"
"He won't talk. We'll make sure of it," Justin says.
"You could lose your shot at a scholarship--"
"We'll deal with it, okay? Just...Just chill!" Justin says
Justin looks at Jessica, "How far is he, anyway?" He asks her.
"He's not there yet, if that's what you mean," Jessica answers.
"Justin?" Jessica asks. He looks at her.
"If Hannah was lying, then why are you here?" Jessica asks.
Marcus and Zach exchange looks.
Justin doesn't answer and Jessica scoffs, "Okay, then why is it when I tried to confront Mia about the tapes she didn't--"
"Wait...you did what?" Justin asks. Zach and Marcus pause the game. "You tried to talk to her about them? Are you insane?!" Marcus says.
Jessica looks at them. "What? She should've listened to them by n--"
"No! She's not listening to them...ever!" Justin says.
Jessica looks at him with confusion. "What? Why--"
"Have you seen her lately? After Jeff and Hannah and..." Justin stops talking and inhales.
"After those two, she's been off the rails and if she heard those tapes...she would come after everyone even herself..." Justin says.
Jessica looks at Justin in confusion, "You think she would try to kill herself? I know Mia isn't okay right now, but--"
"She hasn't been okay for a long time," Justin answers. "She just pretended that she was, but now she has no reason to pretend anymore," Justin adds.
Jessica looks at the pool house door that's still open and looks at the object in there. She squints her eyes and they quickly widen in realization. "Oh My God," She says as she stands up. Justin furrows his brows and follows her eyes to the pool.
His eyes widen and he quickly runs out of the pool house. "MIA!" He yells as he jumps into the pool. Jessica runs out as well and watches as Justin swims to the edge. Jessica grabs Mia and Justin pushes her up. Zach and Marcus look at them in worry.
Jessica starts to give her mouth to mouth resuscitation. "Come on, Mia, come on!" She yells.
Mia starts to cough out water and Jessica places her on her side. Justin exhales with relief and gets out of the water. "Mia, this drug thing is getting out of hand," He says to her.
Mia keeps coughing and slowly sits up. "Right, like you're one to talk." She coughs. Mia frantically rummages through her sweatpants pocket and grabs her pill bottle. "I'll know when it's getting out of hand..." She breathes heavily and stands up.
She walks back into her house with misery that it didn't work.
Justin looks at Jessica, "That's why we don't give her the tapes. Even without them she does crazy shit like that," he runs a hand through his hair.
He knew that if Mia listened to those tapes, it wouldn't be everyone that would be getting hurt. Mia as well, that's why he needed to keep Clay away from her as much as possible.
