castiel stared at the brown door, hesitant to knock as he needed to talk to his mythology professor. he had been struggling with the course, although he enjoyed learning about magic in the middle ages. after taking a deep breath, he knocked twice.
"its open!" her thick scottish accent called from the other side of the door. cas slowly opened it, a kind, yet nervous smile on his face.
"um, m-miss rowena?" cas questioned, walking into her large office. she smiled up at him, pulling her red cat eye glasses from her face.
"ahh, castiel, what can i do for you, sweetheart?" she asked, motioning for him to sit on the leather chair across from her.
"i really hope im not bothering you, i just- i have a few questions on the notes from today." cas said, sitting down in the comfortable chair.
"and what may they be?" she asked, leaning back in her seat, crossing her arms over her chest.
"you believe in your teachings, right?" cas questioned, rowena nodded with a hum. "the witches, during the sorcery trials, were accused of devil worship but you said the witches were using magic for medicinal purposes. i don't understand why the people wanted them to die if they needed-" rowena interrupted castiel from finishing, a frustrated look on her face.
"okay, castiel, i know where this is going but all i have to say is that the people back then were ignorant. they thought hanging and burning the witches-women would keep them from 'reaching the devil' but the witches believed magic. they didnt care about that biblical nonsense." the red head explained, castiel sat quietly not wanting to say anything else in fear of upsetting her.
"yknow what, castiel? i might have something for you." she said, standing up from behind her desk and walking over to one of her many bookshelves. she pulled out a thick, old book and handed it to her student. "its an old grimoire, study it, maybe even try some out. might be the answer to your many questions." rowena told him, a smirk forming on her lips as castiel opened it curiously.
"are you sure? this thing looks very valuable." cas questioned, looking up to his professor.
"yes, my dear, im sure. just bring it back when your done." she answered, patting his shoulder. he nodded while standing up, heading to the door.
"thank you, miss." cas said, exiting the room and heading off campus. he made his way to where dean had parked, seeing the older propped against the side, texting.
"finally, i was starting to think you ditched me." dean chuckled, opening the door for cas to get in. "whats with the creepy book?" dean asked, watching as cas sat down.
"miss rowena said it would help me, i guess?" cas answered, still unsure about why she gave it to him. dean shut the door, walking over to the drivers side.
"okay, well, we gotta get back to the house. benny wants our help on designs for the fundraiser." dean said, starting up baby.
"fundraiser? for what?" cas asked, shoving the heavy book into his backpack and buckling up.
"the childrens hospital, we do it every year." dean answered, cas nodded with a smile as he liked the idea of helping. dean turned on the radio as he drove, forcing castiel to listen to his music. not that cas minded, whatever dean liked, he wouldn't argue with.
when they got back to the house they went straight to the living room, seeing all their friends. most of them were on their laptops, working on tshirt designs. others who weren't so creative, like luci and meg, sat on the floor eating from a bag of doritos.
"howdy, gays." charlie greeted the pair as they walked in, dean sent her a playful glare as cas smiled.
"hello, char." cas responded, taking a seat next to her on the couch as dean sat with meg and luci for their snacks.
"great, now that everyone is here, we can start on making our teams." benny announced, standing up so everyone could look at him.
"i call sam!" gabriel exclaimed, benny rolled his eyes at the small boy.
"i will set up a list of activities, you can choose your partners and stations after that." benny said, sticking a yellow sheet of paper on the wall.
"well, we already know deans choice, date auction." luci snicked, elbowing deans side.
"actually, i think im gonna pass on that one this year." dean said, looking to cas with a smile.
"dean winchester? skipping out on throwing himself to ladies? woah, cas you got him hooked." michael said, cas was confused on what they were talking about since he was still new.
"i think cas and i would do good with setting up the pie contest, of course i would be a contestant." dean said with a wink, everyone knowing how much he loves pie.
"anyway, charlie, sam, how are the designs going?" benny asked, ignoring dean being dean.
about two hours later they finished for the night, everyone heading up to their rooms or down to the basement. as cas was getting ready to head upstairs dean grabbed his hand, pulling him the opposite way.
"dean, where are we going?" cas asked as dean pulled him out the front door.
"on that date." dean answered, letting go of castiels hand to open the passenger door for him.
"dean, i can open my own door." cas laughed as he got in, dean rolled his eyes at the younger.
"i like to be nice, sometimes." dean joked, shutting the door and going to his own.
dean drove them to the date, which he refused to tell cas the location of. cas sat in the car for almost an hour with dean, listening to him sing along to almost every song. he also listened to dean rant about how sammy is just so annoying sometimes.
"i mean, he just always thinks hes right, little brothers are so fucking frustrating, man." dean complained, tapping his fingers against the steering wheel.
"oh, shush. you love sam to death, you know that." cas said, looking at dean who surprisingly had his attention on the road.
"yeah, i guess i do." dean chuckled, turning the radio back up to belt the words to 1985. cas knew the song, so he sang along with dean as well as laughing at how cute the older was.
dean pulled off the road, driving into a field out in the middle of nowhere. cas looked at him confused, dean just smiled as he parked the car.
"is this where you kill me?" cas joked, dean didnt answer as he got out, going to the trunk. cas unbuckled and walked to the front of the car, looking out at the sunset.
"i used to come here all the time when i was a kid, sammy and i would just sit for hours and watch the stars." dean said, a blanket in one hand and a picnic basket in the other.
"its beautiful, relaxing." cas mumbled, not taking his eyes off the pink and purple sky. dean set up the blanket, sitting down, cas following.
"i know you're super corny with this shit, so i thought you'd like it." dean said with a smile as he pulled out a pie and a bottle of white wine. cas noticed this, smiling widely as it was his favorite drink even though dean hated it.
"i love it, dean." cas told him, leaning in to give him a soft kiss, both smiling into it.
"im glad." dean responded as he pulled away, getting himself a slice of pie.
they ended up staying there for what felt like hours, watching the stars, talking about anything and everything. dean told cas about his parents, the first time he got into a fight, even how shitty his prom was. cas told dean as much as he could, leaving out the part on how his dad left him and his brothers to fend for themselves as teens. he told dean why he loved bees so much, the older still not quite understanding.
"i've never actually had a real boyfriend." cas said, deans head laying on his lap with the younger boys hands running through his hair. dean looked up to cas, furrowing his eyebrows together.
"how? you seem so experienced with this stuff, and you're so hot." dean questioned, castiel just shrugged.
"you just bring it all out in me, i guess. i mean ive had 'boyfriends' but none that id actually consider a real relationship." cas answered, dean sat up with a smile.
"wanna try a real relationship?" dean asked, surprising cas with the sudden question.
"i really would love that, are you willing to try that with me?" cas answered with a question, dean positioned himself onto castiels lap.
"im willing to try anything with you, cassie." dean said, cupping castiels cheeks, their faces now inches apart.
"so what im getting is that, the dean winchester, player, hotshot, president of the frat, wants to be my boyfriend?" cas asked, dean nodded with a wide smile.
"i really wanna be your boyfriend, cassie." dean answered.
"well then, boyfriend, kiss me."
