"okay let's get you home bestie" i said walking into her room.

she smiled at me and nodded getting out of the bed slowly. i handed her her phone and the nurse came in with a wheel chair.

she sat down and we made sure we had all of her stuff. the nurse wheeled her out & i walked behind her.

"not to be mean bestie and i'm really grateful for you but where's chenn ?" she asked making me giggle.

i wasn't even mad because i would do the same thing and ask for mikey.

"she stayed back because she was on a zoom meeting and couldn't leave" and she nodded.

"have a good day and take care" the nurse said.

"thank you and you too" angel said getting into the front seat.

she looked into her phone camera and looked at her neck. where you could see the ligature marks we all knew they were gonna be there forever.

"it's okay bestie.. he didn't break you and we are so proud of you! your so strong" i said touching her hand.

"thank you bestie.. i love you" angel said.

"i love you forever.. you got us forever girl" i said.

i drove to to chenn's apartment. i was gonna stop and get her chic-fil-a but chenn texted me and lmk that she had food for her at home.

she actually stayed back so they could put together a "welcome home" party for her and all of her teammates were there.

i pulled into the driveway and we got out, i walked in first and angel came behind me. she turned on the lights.

"WELCOME HOME" we yelled as confetti fell.

"and bri you cleaning all this up too" chenn said looking at all the confetti on her floor.

"welcome home baby" chenn said kissing her.

"thank you.. thank you guys."

"aww she's gonna cry yall" kyrse said.

we all ate and chatted with each other. and angel was slowly falling asleep so she was getting ready to go take a nap.

"sleepy baby ?" chenn asked.

"mhm" she nodded.

"come on let's get you to bed love" chenn said.

she grabbed her hand & and led angel upstairs to her room.

i changed into some comfy clothes and got into bed. i'm hoping since i'm in chenn's bed i can get some good sleep. i felt chenn get in bed beside me i cuddled up to her body because she made me feel protected.

"night mama" she said.

"night stink" i mumbled.

she lightly rubbed my back making me drift off to sleep her touch always relaxes me. i eventually fell asleep. after about 15 minutes i began to toss in turn.

i watched as a tall black man came towards me and forced me onto my couch. he pinned my hands down and told me to shut up and called me the b word.

i continue to kick and scream tryna get out of his grip, he punched me in the face and then started to choke me using both hands.

"LET GO OF IT ME. STOP YOUR HURTING ME" i yelled kicking and screaming.

"GET OFF, STOP" i yelled.

"angel, angel"

"MAMAS. ANGEL WAKE UP" i heard.

i quickly sat up and looked around. i saw chenn, jada, and kamilla along with some of my other teammates standing over me. i was drenched in sweat and my breathing as heavy.

i looked down as tears fell down my face. i'm so tired. all i wanted was to be normal again. i watched as chenn sat down telling everyone else to give us a moment.

"you were having a nightmare love" chenn said and i rubbed my forehead.

"it's okay baby.. we gotchu we not gone let him hurt you again" she said and i nodded hugging her.

"do you wanna come chill downstairs with us ?" she asked.

"yes" i said.

i sat on the couch and angel laid her head on my lap. we watched bri nem make tiktoks it was the best cus they have absolutely no rhythm.

"baby" i heard angel say.

"hmm ?"

"i'm hungry" she said.

"there's pizza and wings and stuff in the kitchen" i said.

she looked up at me happily and went to the kitchen making me smile. it's been rough for her so seeing her smile makes me happy.

after about 5 minutes she came to sit beside me as she happily ate. i rubbed her back as i looked at my phone.

"omgg" she said making everyone look at her.

"what baby what's wrong ?" i asked.

"it was cam.. he did it, he hurt me it was cam"
she said tears streaming down her face.

"i remember him coming to my apartment that day a little after jada went to the corner store. he wanted to talk but i said no and tried to close the door so he pushed himself in and pushed me on the couch getting on top of me. he pinned my arms down on the couch and told me to shut up"

"i told him i was better than him and that i didn't have to scam people in order to make money and it made him mad. she slapped me and called me a b word and he told me he would kill me"

"i remember telling him to kill me because the only way he was gonna have sex with me was when i was dead so he started to strangle me and i blacked out. i think thought i was dead" angel said crying.

"well let's go to the police station" kamilla said.

"no i'm really tired & i don't have the energy" angel said.

"and we understand that mamas, but hurt you. okay he tried to kill you. you can't just let him get away with it he has to pay for what he did to you" i said.

"well can we go tomorrow ? when i get myself together and get some sleep" she asked.

"ofc love.. no tears baby we gone get him" i said wiping her face.

"here mama, finish eating" i said and she nodded.

"we're gonna get him guys & i'm ready. i can't wait to show him that he didn't break me. i'm still here and going hard" angel said making me smile.

"YEAHHH" we all screamed and she smiled.

we finished eating and we decided to watch a movie and just have a sleepover since it was easier. we grabbed some snacks and turned on netflix.

i walked over to the couch and handed angel some melatonin hoping it would help her sleep through the night.

"here you go love" i said.

"thank you" she said taking it.

we laid down and she cuddled up to my body. i held her tightly so she'll know that im here to protect her. i kissed her forehead and we told each other good night.
