Chapter 3

It started out as a simple day.

Akaashi had been absent for a couple of days, but Bokuto wasn't worried. He was used to this already. Akaashi would disappear for a couple of days and then make a grand comeback by making Bokuto a walking piece of art.

Which was actually weird.. If Bokuto would be like that, doesn't that mean that Akaashi should also be walking around with half of his body being pure art?

He woke up as usual, well he did wake up a tad early, but that doesn't matter. He ate breakfast (which was actually the leftover chinese take-out that he warmed up in his microwave), then he called Kuroo and headed off to work.

Summer was coming to an end and the office was filled with paperwork, no time even for a small coffee break. Bokuto and Kuroo were in charge of checking the manuscripts. Not a fun job as they would usually anger the authors.

Now that I mention it, some manga artist were interested in Akaashi's work. They've seen his drawings on Bokuto's arms, they wanted Bokuto to somehow contact Akaashi and tell him about an offer of being a mangaka, but Akaashi never answered.

You could immediately feel the atmosphere change as soon as you walked into the office. No one was resting and Bokuto knew that he would be extra hours today.

He started work, as always, but he didn't notice one thing - Akaashi had appeared.

And he needed help.

For the first time when Akaashi felt like he can truly trust Bokuto and ask him for advice - he didn't answer. He was too busy! He couldn't even feel the lines forming on his skin.

"5 minute break!!!" the head of the department announced at around 3 PM. Bokuto quickly ran to the vending machine and got him and Kuroo a cold drink, after that they were crushed by work again.

And finally at around 9 PM they were done with everything, the office was empty by that time as everyone finished earlier than Bokuto and Kuroo. Dealing with manuscripts is harder than one thinks.

"Ahhh! I'm done! Damn this stupid manga! Who would even read a manga about volleyball?" Kuroo yelled.

"Calm down! At least my manuscript is fun, it's about this dude who met his vampire boyfriend, ha ha... I wish" Bokuto said as he finally relaxed in his chair.

And then he felt it.

A slight pain on his palm. He looked at it and his eyes widened.

"Please be okay"

Bokuto stared at his palm for a few more seconds before unbuttoning his shirt and looking at his left arm. It was filled with words. Not drawings, but words. Hundreds of them, but one stood out.

"Help"

"Dude, you okay?" Kuroo asked as he peeked into Bokuto's corner.

"Yeah, just go ahead without me, I have some work to do.." Bokuto said quietly.

"Okay, but call me later! Let's plan something for tomorrow since we have a day off" Kuroo said and took his stuff, he threw Bokuto a cereal bar before leaving and headed home.

As soon as Bokuto heard the office door slam shut he looked at his arm again.

"Bokuto, I need an advice"

"please I'm in trouble"

"I'm not feeling well, help me"

And so on.

Bokuto found a small free space and took his black pen.

"I WAS WORKING. WHAT'S WRONG?"

It didn't take long for Akaashi to reply, which was unusual.

"I had a panic attack.. A couple actually" he wrote.

Bokuto watched as some lines started disappearing, which only meant that Akaashi was cleaning them off.

"Are you okay now? Do you need help? I could come and help!" Bokuto wrote down, hoping to finally meet him.

"I'm fine now that I know that you're here and you're okay"
