                chapter six: family weekend

bella walked around her room cleaning it up as it had to be perfect. not a spec of dust could be seen, not a single piece of clothing could be dirty. it needed to be perfect.

it was family weekend. her mother and father were coming to visit her and joseph. she hasn't seen them for three months. she needed to make a good impression.

it felt like since the moment she woke up her body had been in full panic and clean mode.

she had called joseph to make sure he was up and cleaning. the boy sounded wide awake when she called.

he knew how much this mattered. he knew how much this weekend mattered.

the williams family was perfect. they had to be.

bella and joseph's mother was a lawyer. a good one if that. the best in the state. she was amazing. she was perfect. their father was a pilot. so they barley saw their parents when they were at home.

even when they were children. they were forced to grow up without the presence of a real mother and father around.

they had a nanny instead.

her name was cecile. she had long blonde eye, a thick accent and blue eyes that pieced through her pale skin. she was like a mom to both joseph and bella. that was until she got fired.

their mother had fired her.

she was fucking their father.

the brunette girl looked in the mirror as she moved her hands throughout her hair. she patted down her outfit as she took in a deep breath. she had to meet her mother and father at a cafe off campus. her brother would be there to.

she was nervous to say the least. she was nervous of what they would say about her. they were very opinionated people. always judging someone's character before even getting to know them as a person.

if one strand of hair is on the wrong side of bella's head her mother will know and her mother will say something.

she took one last look in the mirror before grabbing her phone and keys and leaving her room.

she walked down the hall saying hello to annie's security guard as she passed her. she could only guess annie was still in her room. maybe still asleep since it was ten o'clock in the morning.

bella made her way out of the glass doors as she walked down the stairs and onto the cement sidewalks.

she passed students with their friends or parents. even some alone.

most having a smile on their face as she walked past.

today was going to be a good day.
it needed to be a good day.

bella stood outside of the cafe as she waited for her brother. he had two minutes to get there or they would be late.

they can't be late.

she looked up from her phone as she heard footsteps. her eyes making contact with joseph as he stood in front of her. he was dressed up.

good.

" let's get this over with" he spoke walking past her. she rolled her eyes as they duo entered the cafe looking for their parents.

they spotted them right away. bella took in a another deep breath in and out before they walked to the table.

" hi mom" " dad" bella spoke with a fake smile spread across her face. her parents looked up at them and gave the two smiles as the sibling duo sat across from them.

" have you guys ordered yet" joseph asked them. " we were waiting for you guys" their father spoke up. " you were almost late" their mother added.

" my apologies, it was my fault. couldn't find a place to park" joseph told them. their parents nodded.

bella grabbed a menu and started looking at it before the waiter came over for them all to order.

" so how's school going" their mother spoke.

" it's going good" bella spoke with a smile. " it's shame you never joined a sorority, you could have had sisters of would have been there with you every second" her mother told bella.

she was always ashamed over bella for not fulfilling her mothers life long dream for her.

being in a sorority.

" are you still freinds with that boy still" her father asked her. he didn't even give her time to answer as he spoke once again. " the boy he's bad news, i never liked him bella" her father told her.

" dad i'm still friend with lucien" she told him. " more like lucifer" her father spoke under his breath. her mother hit his shoulder.

" joseph what about you how is delta pi going" her mother asked him. she was proud of him. bella could tell within her voice.

" it's going good" joseph told her. " study's are still going good" her mother asked. joseph nodded.

" i'm so glad at least one of my children followed what i told them to do" their mother spoke.

bella moved around uncomfortable in her chair at her mothers sudden words.

" well i think we should get going, we will see you guys later for dinner tonight" her mother announced getting up. her father following after her as they went to go pay the bill.

" don't let her get to you" bella heard her brother say. she shrugged it off. " no, it's fine. i'm fine." she told him.

she stood up as she got away from the table. her brother following after her.
