"It's been a while since we had a traveller come in" Sugawara said as he stepped closer to Daichi, examining his posture and built. "You seem like you come from far away"

"Oh, yeah. I am from far far away. Just happened to come here" Daichi chuckled nervously. The words Yokozawa spoke played in his head like a broken record, but there was no running away now.

"Interesting. Well, I suppose I should treat a traveller to a meal, shouldn't I? We rarely get any" Sugawara smiled, but something was wrong. The clerk of the store looked at the prince with fear, Yokozawa said to stay away, everyone avoided talking about him - there was someone else hiding behind those grey eyes.

"I'm afraid I can't stay in town too long" Daichi tried to control the situation. He watched as Sugawara's eyes darted to the plant on the counter.

"Magic... isn't it? Is my dear store clerk practising magic? That is enough for me to close this place.." the prince spoke in a cold tone.

"No, please..." the clerk whispered. Daichi  knew what was happening, he had no other choice but to agree. He couldn't risk it.

"I suppose I could come for a cup of tea" Daichi chuckled nervously and watched as Sugawara's cold gaze turned normal again.

"Oh, splendid. Then, I guess I'll see you some other time, clerk. Please, follow me" Sugawara walked out of the store, gesturing Daichi to come along. The other, of course, didn't have a choice. He had to go, he couldn't risk hurting other people.

"Aren't you cold?" Daichi asked as he noticed just what the prince was wearing.

"No, I don't really care for cold. Please, follow me" Sugawara made sure Daichi was following and lead him to a carriage. Yokozawa was sure to be worried, but there was no going back now. Daichi had a weird feeling about about the prince. Something was wrong, very wrong... yet he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

The carriage started moving and before he knew it Daichi found himself sitting next to the prince. He sat with his legs crossed, hands neatly placed on his thigh. He had a stern and cold look on his face and his skin practically sparkled much like the snow outside.

The trip was quiet and, quite frankly, uncomfortable. There must have been something Daichi could do to disperse the thick air, but before he could say a word the carriage came to a holt, so quick and unexpected that Sugawara practically flew, but Daichi managed to catch him. For a moment there Sugawara's cheeks blushed and his eyes glowed in honey-amber color, but the moment Daichi moved his hand they turned back into their normal state.

They could hear people yelling outside and decided to climb out and see for themselves. What Daichi saw made him concerned. On the cold ground lay an old woman, there was another girl helping her stand up. Daichi was about to rush to help when Sugawara flew past him, taking his sword out and pointing it at the old lady.

"How dare you?! I almost got hurt because of you!", he yelled.

"I'm sorry, your Majesty. She couldn't cross the street fast enough, please forgive us" the girl pleaded at the verge of tears.

"Forgive you? I am busy, I almost got hurt and you made me stop! Do you realize what you have done?!" he yelled again as if not feeling any empathy towards the women.

Daichi couldn't be a bystander anymore, he took a deep breath before rushing and blocking the ladies from the sword with his body. He glared at Sugawara who seemed shocked by his actions. The other took one step back and Daichi immediately turned around, helping the lady stand up and walk out of the way.

By the time he turned back to Sugawara the other was already inside the carriage. Not wasting any time he walked back to the carriage, not sure whether he was even allowed to go with the prince anymore, but nevertheless he climbed in and the carriage drove away.

"Brave, aren't you?" Sugawara spoke as they started moving again.

"I'd say yes"

"That could come with consequences "

"I'm well aware..."

"How about a friendly fight?"

Daichi turned to Sugawara almost immediately. A friendly fight? "What do you mean?" Daichi asked.

"Just a friendly spar" Sugawara turned to Daichi. "And a nice dinner afterwards"

Daichi nodded subtly, being sort of afraid to refuse. He already stood up to those ladies, he had a feeling Sugawara wouldn't forgive anything else.

Once they had arrived to the castle, the people around seemed to be more confused than ever. The prince. The prince who is so cold and ruthless. The prince who is so cold and ruthless that no one dares to approach him has brought someone to the castle with him.

Something must be wrong, but Sugawara didn't seem to care about their attitudes. He simply gestured them and they rushed to get the coat off of Daichi and presented him with a collection of swords.

"Please, pick one you like. Consider it a gift", Daichi stared at the variety of swords in awe. Oh, how beautiful! They were all as shiny as they can be, mostly silver with golden touches, rubies, diamonds and emeralds! Daichi could see his reflection in all of them, but perhaps the one he was drawn to was the with amber-like stones encrusted into it. Daichi grabbed it, admiring it from up close.

After that Sugawara and him actually spared in a friendly manner which seemed so alien-like to his servants. Even though Sugawara didn't laugh once, he smiled and complimented Daichi's ability to fight.

Everything happened so fast. A spar, the dinner and eventually a ride back to town. Daichi ended up telling the prince about his vague memory and how confused he is, Sugawara told him about various places to visit and for a moment there... only for a moment - the temperature rose.
