• an obvious but welcome hc is how iwa will always make sure she's at her best (meaning eating all three meals, not overworking herself, taking breaks, etc.)
     ↳ after speaking to sakura and ushijima, it didn't take long for iwaizumi to put two and two together-- himari was practicing still. no breaks, no dinner. if he were being honest, he was disappointed. she told him she would stop doing this nightly. yet here he was, storming into the gym earning the girls attention. "you. eat. now." he simply spoke, grabbing the ball midair and tossing it into the bin with the others. "hey! i was practicing y'know!" himari complained loudly, giving a yelp as his hand found her wrist, pulling her close before he easily lifted her up, carrying her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

• when needed, hajime helps himari re-dye her blonde strips of hair

• iwaizumi is himari's #1 fan and she's his #1 fan
     ↳ himari very loudly shows her support for him, and often wears his spare jersey to his games.
         ↳ hajime not so subtly becomes a blushy mess everytime he spots her.

• iwazumi has so many candid photos of himari on his phone.

• workout buddies
     ↳ the first time they worked out together, iwaizumi was surprised she could keep up with his regimen
     ↳ ....then after he got too sweaty he pulled off his shirt. himari was ✨ gone ✨
     ↳ she respectfully watched him, simping hard
         ↳ which is fair bc he too, respectfully looked at her (he didn't expect her to have such a nice stomach, that she flaunted in her crop top)

• himari simps hard for his arms
     ↳ like, yeah, as another wing spiker she also has nice arms
     ↳ but iwa's???? pls, she goes weak. she's a teenage girl- she's gonna stare
     ↳ iwaizumi knows this well. he absolutely shows off when he knows she's looking

• himari gets him to do face masks with her
     ↳ he said no at first, but then she pouted and he just couldn't deny that
     ↳ 10/10 experience tho, ended with him wanting to learn a skincare routine too

• himari somehow convinced iwaizumi to let her paint his nails
     ↳ decided on a royal blue to match with hers, royal blue being one of the colors for their team

• himari teaches iwaizumi portuguese
     ↳ he asked to learn it one day after hearing her mutter in the language under her breath after missing a set.
         ↳ safe to say, she can't insult herself under her breath in portuguese anymore

• iwa's highkey a sap.
     ↳ definitely has kissed himari in the rain, okay.
     ↳ and infront of a sunset
     ↳ and you betcha he's wrapped his arm around her while faking a yawn
     ↳ this man definitely leaves little sweet & reassuring sticky notes everywhere for her to find
     ↳ he writes love letters too, just to share how he really feels about her since he isn't the best with words all the time.

• asahi gives some of the best massages??? like????? idk, it's definitely bc he has large, surprisingly soft hands
     ↳ sakura learned that after a long practice one day, with all the movements her body felt tired.
     ↳ so he offered to give her a massage, which she desperately needed
         ↳ 11/10 best massage of her life.

• sakura styles asahi's hair on occasion (mostly out of boredom)
     ↳ he even lets her give him the occasional pigtails bc he knows she likes it

• HAND. HOLDING. ALL. THE. TIME.
     ↳ he likes holding sakura's hand in general, and whenever his anxiety begins to act up, he'll squeeze her hand subconsciously

• asahi is a tol boi, sakura is smol gorl, so, sakura in his hoodies or shirts??? man is on the floor
     ↳ his stuff goes down to her knees?? and he just loves it so much.
     ↳ such a flustered mess.
     ↳ literally there's no hiding how flustered he is- he gets so red and the longer he stares the more obvious it becomes
         ↳ therefore he is super easy to make flustered

• also okay but he's v observant
     ↳ he knows whenever somethings off with sakura
     ↳ whether she's having a bad day or she's more hyper than usual
     ↳ he notices all.
        ↳ it's how somehow he always knows if she forgot to take her medicine

• he can't take compliments. he'll go red.
     ↳ so naturally, sakura showers him with compliments
         ↳ "hell yeah asahi!! that's why you're karasuno's ace!!"

• sakura often starts one-sided pillow fights with him to get his attention
     ↳ he doesn't hit her with his own pillow bc he doesn't wanna accidentally hurt her bc, again, size difference
     ↳ so he kinda sits there and takes it, laughing it off
     ↳ often ends up in cuddles

• sakura went to him for fashion advice once, and was surprised when she realized he was really good with giving it

• daichi bullied him into asking out sakura
     ↳ he was nervous and very clearly swooning over her.
     ↳ "i'm shocked you didn't drool over her, just ask her out and quit acting like a child too afraid to order food for themselves"
         ↳ "hey! i'm not that bad!!"

• he is a giant teddy bear- and bc of his size he's often the big spoon.
     ↳ but sakura can, and will, do her best to become the big spoon, even if it's kinda awkward because of her being MUCH smaller.

• oh boy, pls be aware when these two are together there's not one braincell
     ↳ chaos incarnate tbh
     ↳ they have no impulse control whatsoever, they both can and will get a tattoo together on a whim
     ↳ they're gonna give asahi and iwaizumi grey hairs, bc the boys make up all their impulse control

• they platonically cuddle all the time.
     ↳ literally, if the boys weren't dating their respective girlfriends, they'd be convinced sakura and himari were dating
     ↳ it's an ongoing joke that if both couples fail, they'd totally date

• bc they're roommates, it isn't unusual for them to binge disney movies together during lunch
     ↳ that being said, unless they're eating with the boys on the team, they eat most meals to binge said movies.

• ushijima stuggles to understand how the heck they're so close???
     ↳ "i thought you two hated each other?" he'd question in passing, earning a look from the two girls who burst out into laughter at his words. that earned more confusion from the ace who simply tilted his head to the side. "you can't hate your roommate, you wallflower." himari mocked the older boy with a nod from sakura. "exactly. we're rivals AND best friends... and recently teammates."

• sakura punches himari in the side everytime she starts to doubt herself, mid-game or just in a practice.
     ↳ "damn it! i could've spiked it right past the blockers if i just-- ouch!! what was that for?"
         ↳ "stop being so negative, dummy! that was a crazy spike! don't make me tell the coach to bench you!"

• they take pinky promises very seriously
     ↳ knowing this powerful weapon, iwaizumi and asahi make the most of it
         ↳ "pinky swear that you two won't overdue practice." and what not.

• late night snacking
     ↳ started randomly one night when himari wokes up with a craving for chocolate ice cream so she wakes sakura so the two could sneak out and get some together
     ↳ they have definitely gotten caught by various teammates who send them back to bed after.

• at the camp, they often practice together- himari working on her crazy powerful serves so sakura can work on receiving said crazy powerful serves
     ↳ red hands and red arms from hitting/receiving so many balls, and they both only stop when iwaizumi and asahi tell them to.

• himari gets sakura into skin/hair care routines.
     ↳ unlike iwaizumi, sakura was pretty willing to join.
     ↳ they do nightly routines, and occasionally morning ones if himari got enough sleep

• every match they have against each other (as they're from shiratorizawa and nekoma) is always so tense
     ↳ they have the whole "your worst enemy could be your best friend" thing
     ↳ not that they were enemies or anything but they were in fact rivals
     ↳ bc of the training camp, they both learn each other's strategies and weaknesses so the nekoma v shiratorizawa matches get more tense the more time goes on,
     ↳ no matter which team wins/loses, they ALWAYS go get dinner together. always.
     ↳ they call the dinners 'dates' 💕
