𝐉𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐖𝐎𝐎𝐃, otherwise known as Nessa, spent her entire life living life to the fullest alongside her twin brother, Tyler Lockwood, to the best of her abilities when her father was not only the Mayor of Mystic Falls, but also a dick to both of his children. Nessa had to be perfect in the eyes of bother her parents and the people of Mystic Falls and she was, until an accident with her best friend, Connor Maxwell.

     𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐒, Janessa had a feeling as if someone were going to die, and she was right. One night as the two were walking home, something attacked the teenagers, leaving both teens barely breathing. As the best friends were rushed to the hospital, the overwhelming feeling that she been feeling finally burst in a scream of just one word past her lips, 'Connor!' right before the boy lost his life.

     𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐁𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐆 released from the hospital, Janessa never felt the same in her home and decided that she was going to leave behind all her friends, her family, her twin brother and the lovestruck teenage boy that followed her around to move in with her werewolf uncle, Mason Lockwood, in Florida. There, the girl truly found herself again and made many new friends along the way, some just like her.

     𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 gets back to the two Lockwood's leaving in Florida that Richard Lockwood has died in a "fire", both the niece and uncle return home for the funeral and things turn for the worst when mason just ups and leaves the girl in Mystic Falls. There, the feeling of death is always surrounding Janessa and gets stronger as more vampires begin to come to the small supernatural filled town.
